Midnight Stroll [open!]
Character(s): Isaac and whoever wants to join him :D
Content: Isaac gets twitchy and talking to himself
Setting: Muspelheim (probably waddling near Ecos na Catedral).
Time: Very late Friday evening
Warnings: None?
Since meeting that strange dark-skinned man Isaac had spent a lot of his time loitering in alleys and sleeping away days and evenings in the darkest corners he could find. But after this disgusting little hibernation he had finally woken up from the shock of his new glassy prison, this Paixao, and was in desperate need of entertainment. The pale faced ghosts that resided here were beginning to tickle at his sanity and he felt the cogs of madness begin to crunch and turn in his dusty old brain. It was too much for the redhead to take... Those hollow, translucent eyes glued to his lanky body like light blue tar and their quiet whispers... Ohh, they were enough to drive a perfectly mad person even more mad!
Isaac stood up out of his little hovel of dust and stale air he had been cultivating in the alleyway and stepped out into the open air of one of the main streets. Stretching his gangly arms about his head he took in a slow, raspy, breath (sucking in his stomach to show off a gaunt, bony figure) "Ahhhh~ Hector..." he said to the sky "How many moons have waxed and waned since our last meeting?" the redhead mused to himself. "Why, it feels like only the other day we were carving Rosely's name in a tombstone and now look, I've found myself in another city full of ghosts and liars." Oh yes, he hadn't forgotten the lies he'd been told when he first came here, confused and vulnerable -people claiming this land was Hell, claiming they had seen Master, all dirty liars... Isaac would have to punish them if he came across them again. "They say this land is Hell, Hector!" he screeched loudly with a slight giggle "Hehe... but... How can that possibly be true, for you know as well as I that if this were hell then you would have to be here alongside me!! Iyaaahahaaa!"
Some time passed and Isaac began to walk, he didn't travel in a specific direction, he was simply idly sauntering along until he came across of note. Occasionally he would comment to himself or snap at a random passer by. Telling the that "If you don't keep those eyes to yourself, then I'll have them!!" As per usual, he was making a spectacle of himself...

Closing the book and placing it safely in her pouch, she lets out a yawn, trying to appear as dignified as one yawning could be. Suddenly, out of the peaceful evening atmosphere, a shout could be heard, If you don't keep those eyes to yourself, then I'll have them!!
Standing up, Ashe walks to where the commotion might be, curious as to whether the shouting man could be Miles Edgeworth whom she is waiting for. It seems very unlikely for Mr. Edgeworth was very composed when she conversed with him through the journals, but who knows? It would not hurt to ask, surely.
The man who shouted can be seen clearly among the other pale people. He seemed dangerous, but he surely won't try to hurt her if she asks politely. Walking towards the red-haired man, Ashe stops right in front of the man and gives him a slight bow to show him her respect. "Evening, are you Mr. Miles Edgeworth?"
no subject
"Miles?!" he screech like a gull. Hmm, perhaps this would be some good entertainment for him. Through his varying degrees of madness Isaac had something similar to predictive instincts, he could see things about people that others simply couldn't "Hehe... Iyyaaahaahaaa... Why yes, of course, my little grey snow flake! Come... We have... Sooooo much to talk about and do, don't we?" his face knitted into a horrible, twisted, grin and he reached out to take her arm.
At last, something to play with.
no subject
Miles?! Hehe... Iyyaaahaahaaa... Why yes, of course, my little grey snow flake! Come... We have... Sooooo much to talk about and do, don't we? Ashe is once again thrown off-guard by how... un-composed this man seems compared to the man she talked to over the journal. But referring to the previous reason, she nods tentatively and tries not to grimace. It would not do to offend the man, he should not be burdened by such things anymore.
It took even more willpower to restrain herself from pulling back her hand when the man reached out to take her arm. Suddenly, realizing something, "Sir Edgeworth, I thought you said that your partner will be coming here with you also? And Mr. Cid Highwind said that he will be accompanying you also."
no subject
"Ahhh yes yes yesss..." he hissed leaning into the blonde's personal space, showing a set of grey/white teeth in an open-mouthed grin. "That person, Cid, he... He.... Hehehe! Hehehee, he was detained for a while, I told him to come along, but that man insisted on staying where he was, isn't that rude, my little mosquito?" he instantly changed the subject, he didn't want to talk about people he didn't know, did he? "... This is besides the point though, isn't it?" He said leaning back slightly. "Let's whisk away somewhere away from all these... Dull eyes and dull faces, somewhere where I can gobble you up all to myself." so much for attempting to act normal to lure her away from public...
no subject
"G-Gobble?" she stutters, not exactly meaning to do so. "I mean, are we not supposed to hurry up and rescue Maya and Zack and Cloud?" This does not look very good at all, she should not have cross the man's way; he probably is not Miles Edgeworth. "And you can let go of my hand, I can walk by myself just fine," once he lets go, she's gonna run. Yes, that's it, she should run.
But deep inside her she can hear a tiny voice asking her if she is going to run away like a coward once again, letting others die because of her cowardice?
no subject
"Ohh no no, we couldn't do that, could we?" he hissed gently pulling the girl in close to himself "Who knows, the slip of a finger could be followed the totter of those tiny little feet and I really don't feel like being alone here anymore." He had been by himself for... Far too long, he couldn't take it anymore. "So, my little sheep in wolf's clothing... Don't struggle and come join me in my little black cornered abode... Heehee... Hehehe!"
He wasn't planning to kill her, as such, just do some nasty things that would make her feel bad. He wasn't doing it to be cruel, oh no, he just thought that pretty little girls like this didn't understand the meaning of pain and well... Everyone should understand something as simple as that, right?
no subject
"I do not think I would like to join you in your 'little black cornered abode' thank you," she mutters. "Let. go. of. me. You are definitely not Sir Edgeworth." She gives him a sharp glare, hoping that it would make him let her go. But if he does not? We will just think about that later on.
no subject
With one small, quiet, whisper "And please don't struggle... I wouldn't like to kill you, now would I?"
no subject
Ashe would have been enraged by someone daring to call her a wretch, but her fear has defeated her anger, and she shudders as the man steps back, attempting to pull her with him. His whisper sends a shiver down her spine, and knowing that the threat is no empty one, she nods and follows. There will be a chance, she is sure of it, but for now she must not get herself killed. "I am Ashe, if it matters to you."
no subject
He didn't stop pulling her into his 'home', the alley, but when he was asked about himself he felt he ought to answer (afterall, it'd be rude not to, and even if he was insane at least he wasn't rude). "Hmm? Haha.. You honestly want to know? How surprizing!... My name is Isaac." he wouldn't answer the question on Hector, no.. not to just anyone.
no subject
She hopes that reaching through his mask of insanity will prevent him from hurting her. If he feels understood, perhaps he would not hate her even if he hates the whole world.
no subject
Although magic would've probably startled him a lot more -he didn't like witches.
He had managed to drag her out of the sight of passers, into the shabby alley where he had been staying. You could always tell if Isaac had slept anywhere for more than a couple of days, things would end up scrawled on the walls and there would be a mess of items and scraps of anything he could find. "Now.. Where were we... Ah yes, forgotten emotions." she'd have to do something drastic to stop him from trying to hurt her.
no subject
He had taken her to a shabby alley filled with trash and scribbles on the walls. She wonders if he is planning to literally eat her or is it something else. Now.. where were we... Ah yes, forgotten emotions. She is glad that he still has a story to tell however, at least it would buy her quite some time.
no subject
In one swift, almost graceful, movement he pulled her arm up and back to push it against the wall behind her (and infront of him). Smacking the back of her wrist against the wall. As one hand did this, the other reached down into the turn-up of his left thigh high boot and snatched out a small weapon; a dagger with an ivory handle (in the shape of a fish tail, but part of it had been broken off). He slammed the tip of the dagger mere inches away from her face, into the wall, and snapped. "Silence!! How dare you even try to ask me about myself!! I know what you're trying to do, and it wont work, woman!"
no subject
Part of her wants to cry like a child at the fear clutching her heart, but part of her is telling her that to cry would only motivate the man to hurt her even more. Trying to even out her breath, she closes her eyes and waits for the man to perhaps calm down a bit. The man had asked for silence, so she will give him just that. Closing her view from the tattoed body of the man made her feel better, safer, but she knows that she is just fooling herself because the danger has not yet passed.
Curiosity got the better of her, and after a few moment has passed, "If you would like to, tell me what you are going to do to me," she fears what it is he might say, but with her eyes still closed, it is much easier to keep her breathing even.
no subject
He didn't move either of his hands, and leaned in close to the girl's face, as if nuzzling her in an endearing fashion. He whispered in an almost gentle tone of voice. "Princess of soot, all I want to do is to give you a wonderful gift. The gift of pain... To make you remember all those locked up emotions and sensations a pretty little body like that forgets." There was something sexual in the way he talked and moved, at the same time that he spoke he cocked one of his legs to push his knee between her thighs. "Stop refusing my generousity.." Even though there was something predominantly adult about what Isaac was doing, at the same time, his ideas and some of his actions (such as the doting nuzzle he gave Ashe) were somehow very simplistic and childish.
no subject
Where are her guards when she needs them? She was almost annoyed by how she always had to have several knights escorting her round when no danger would ever come to her. But now, she wishes with all she has that someone, anyone, would come to her rescue. Somehow realizing that it would never happen, however, she whispers, "Please don't..." Again, knowing it would make no difference.
no subject
"Don't be frightened." he murmured, leaning in to suckle at the wound's precious drops of blood. "Have you bled before? Do you know what it feels like?... Hehee... Do you hate me? Do you want to hate me?"
no subject
Don't be frightened. Isaac seemed to have read her mind, Have you bled before? Do you know what it feels like?... Hehee... Do you hate me? Do you want to hate me? He leans in and suckles the wound. He probably is a cannibal, he is really planning to eat her. "I don't... hate you. I don't want to..." still keeping her eyes shut, thinking it would keep her safe.
no subject
"Why are you so scared?" He added a moment later "And if you are so frightened, why aren't you doing anything? Why, you could snatch this blade from me and pierce my flesh just like I've done to you?" he returned to nuzzling his nose and cheek against Ashe's jaw. Whispering sweetly "Are you so afraid that you wont even try? Maybe you'll find you like hurting people?"
no subject
The man whispers sweetly, but his words are far from sweet, Are you so afraid that you wont even try? Maybe you'll find you like hurting people? Ashe finds that she can break into pitiful sobs any moment at how much fear she is feeling at the moment, "I don't... I won't hurt you, just don't hurt me."
no subject
He blinked, not realising that the around he wrist had loosened, he was far too busy being baffled by her constant fear.
no subject
Unconsciously, she drops the hand that she placed on his torso. He looks just like a child; one she would never have. And something maternal stirs within her at how lost the grown man seemed to be, "...Isaac?"
no subject
"Stop it!!" he yelled, before adding the crucial few words "Stop your pity!!" That was what he assumed, she wasn't attacking him because she pitied him, why else would she not retaliate "Do something!! I hurt you!! Do something to me!!" he turned his dagger around, so that he held it (with a glove hand) at the blade and attempted to shove the handle into the girl's hand. "Why aren't you doing anything?!"
no subject
Why aren't you doing anything?! the man yells again, causing Ashe to twitch in surprise. What is she supposed to do? She will not hurt the man, that is for sure, she finds that she cannot handle the sight of blood very well. "Wha-What do you want me to do?" she stutters, "I won't hurt you; I already said so and I always hold my word. I-If you want to be... punished for what you've done... yo-you can..." she says quickly, stumbling over her words while still holding the dagger in front of her.
She is at loss of words. What can he do in return? "Y-you can help me rescue some people." Realizing how crazy she was to even think of uttering such things to the mentally unstable man, she tries her hardest to keep the dagger in front of her in case the man attempts to attack.
no subject
Feeling a bit defeated he sighed, white irises turning away from the girl's face. His first attempt at educating one of these Paixao people had gone badly... Maybe he didn't have the guts to do what he used to anymore...
no subject
"What... what do you want to do then?" She is truly pushing her luck this time. She already knows that questions irritate him, but given the situation, Ashe thinks that she might yet have the chance of calming the man down. She knows that she can just leave at this moment; she is sure that Isaac would not try to stop her, but she finds that she does not want to leave him behind at this state.
He is not the man she was waiting for, but he probably is confused over something or the other. Despite what he had tried to do, Ashe finds that she wants to help Isaac; no one could be so angry if he had not been hurt as badly. Perhaps the reason why Ashe does not want to leave him just yet, is because they faced the same thing once. Just that Ashe is still in denial over all that happened.
no subject
"... Should go and find someone else. Maybe." he thought out loud to himself, shoulders slumping. Why was she so interested in questioning him? Why would anybody be interested in asking anything about him? Nobody had in the past? He wasn't angsting about that fact, it just baffled him.
no subject
Pushing her luck yet again, she pockets the small dagger, "I'm keeping this... as your punishment," she places her hand on the hilt of her sword in case he decides to attack. "I will give it back to you if you would vow to me that you will not 'play' with someone else as you did with me."
no subject
"Return it to me! I can't promise to what you asked! Give it back!!" his more childish side was really showing at this moment.
no subject
Her instinct tells her to protect herself and as he tries to get his dagger back, her free hand points toward the man's body, "Stona!" as a burst of bright grey dust sprays from her hand toward Isaac. Her eyes not yet adjusted to the brightness of the dust, she covers her eyes with her arm, not knowing what effect her spell has on Isaac. She does not really want to hurt him, she was just scared, that is all.
[ooc: it's up to you whether the spell has an effect on Isaac or not :)]
no subject
He didn't move, he didn't speak, he did nothing.
[I'm guessing it's some sort of petrification spell XD?]
no subject
Immediately, she drops to the ground and searches around in her pouch for some healing potion that she can use to heal Isaac. She had not meant to petrify him, she only wanted him to step back from her. She will try her best to heal him.
no subject
This was probably one of the few times that Ashe would be able to get near Isaac without him either shying away or lashing out. He could hear her too, the only thing he couldn't do is use his sight, since his eyes had turned to stone too. He was almost beautiful in an sort of eerie way.
no subject
Not able to find any Soft in her possession, she sighs in frustration and lets her pouch sink onto the dirt ground. She cannot find a way to cure him without Soft as she has not yet learned healing magic. She cannot leave him petrified here, however, as people might hurt him. Yet when did she care whether this man who almost killed her gets hurt or not?
Suddenly, from the corner of her eyes, a vial of Remedy peeks from among her other belongings. She truly is getting out of her mind for even thinking that she would use that precious vial of Remedy to heal this man she has just met. She only has one in her inventory, it costs 22400 gils and she could probably sell it for a very high price somewhere in case money gets scarce.
Taking the vial from her pouch, she looks at it longingly for a moment then lifts her head up to look at Isaac's face. She had thought of him as deranged and so the thought of him being beautiful never exactly crossed her mind. Blushing at how she is thinking of such things when she is already married, she shakes her head and smiles rather dryly.
She uncorks the vial and ponders for a moment; about how this is probably the only moment when she can step close to Isaac without the fear of him hurting her. Reaching out her hand again, she traces his jawline slowly and stops when her fingers reach his chin. He is probably older than her, but it is strange how he looks so peaceful and child-like this way. Perhaps, it is because the bitterness and anger she could see in his eyes when they are not petrified are not visible.
Chuckling to herself at how strange she is starting to get, she shakes her head and holds up the bottle under his nose; knowing that he can still smell and hear her. "I'm sorry that I petrified you, that I broke my promise of not hurting you, but I hope that this would be enough for an apology; it's a Remedy, I will heal you with this."
Then slowly, she stands on her tiptoes and hovers the vial above his head. Tipping it forward slowly and pouring all its content over Isaac as the liquid seems to wash away the greyness of his skin.
no subject
As the liquid trickled down his body the areas it touched first were the bits that returned to their normal state the quickest. His hair soon became that vibrant red again, his tattoos stood out against pale skin, his lips turned back to that light pink and his pupils that endless black. As soon as his mouth, throat and lungs had returned to normal he gasped desperately for air. He felt as though he had been kept underwater the entire time and his body needed air badly.
Because he was being changed from head to toe, when his feet finally returned to normal he lost his balance quite badly and stumbled to the side, grasping onto the wall. Still gasping for air.
He didn't look at her, in all honesty he was scared of this woman now, he had no idea that she knew such power! It was frightening! Even though she had cured him, Isaac couldn't help but feel paranoid that she'd do something else, despite what she had just said.
no subject
Ashe steps back as the man stumbles to his side. She places her hand on the hilt of her sword again, just in case. After all, with how mentally unstable this man seems to be, one can never know what he will do next. The man just kept gasping for air however, and after a few moments, Ashe steps cautiously forward, "A-Are you alright?"
The man would not meet her eyes, and sensing that the man might be terrified of her because of what she has done. She gives him a smile, "I am sorry," and picking up his small dagger from the ground, she offers it to him; the hilt of the sword facing Isaac. "Here, you can have it, I did not know it means so much to you..." then considering whether it would be wise to say or not, "But... remember that you should not hurt people again; they might do worse things to you than I did."
no subject
"D.. Don't want that!!" he yelled in reply to Ashe, the very idea of someone doing something worse was scary! What could possibly be worse than being turned into stone.
no subject
"Well, you will not be hurting more people then?" she asks, not forgetting to give him a smile; hoping that it would make him feel less tense. "If you can't promise me that you won't be hurting more people, then would you come with me?" Ashe cannot believe she is actually saying this, but the man seemed to fear her and she supposes that he would not try to hurt her again. If she keeps him by her side, he would not be hurting others in fear of her. "Please?"
no subject
Ashe probably didn't realise what she had gotten herself into, Isaac was a dangerous, damaged, young man. Capable of fatal mood swings and violent fits of rage, as well as disturbing bouts of depression and near suicidal tendancies. At least the girl's life wasn't going to be boring...
no subject
"Let's go back to around Ecos na Catedral then," she walks over to the entrance of the alley. "I told my friends that I will be waiting there for them; we're going to go and rescue some people," she explains. "I don't expect you to help, just come along," she gestures for Isaac to come with her with her hand. She does not really know what she actually expects from him, he seemed to be unstable and she is not sure what his personality is really like. This place is too strange to be occupied with normal people anyway; also too strange to be alone in...
[ooc: wanna close this thread and wait for Miles to come to Ecos na Catedral and meet them? You can post a final thread if you like :)]
