Freezing Friends [Active]

Character(s): Megara, Priere
Content: Megara and Priere get snowed in.
Setting: Cafe Ersesat
Time: Week 36, later afternoon?
Warnings: None

Meg had discovered she hated snow. Sure, it was pretty enough at first, but then it just kept building and building. It wouldn't stop. Unfortunately, she'd been going stir-crazy inside Jecht's apartment after a certain point. She'd never been one for staying in one place for long, after all. So despite her common sense, she bundled up as best she could and struck out into the cold, snowy day.

She lasted just long enough to realize she was completely turned around. Under the whirling white of the weather, all the buildings looked the same. Shivering, Meg cursed under her breath and trudged through the snow to the nearest building, hoping for a little shelter to get her wits back, but the door was locked and barred. It took her several more minutes of wandering before she was able to make her way into one building that had only a weak lock on it.

In the dark, still interior, Megara gasped for breath, shutting the door behind her.

It's not that Priere had wanted to go outside, but after being cooped up in her apartment for a couple of days, not only was it getting stuffy... but she was starting to run out of food. She wasn't much on planning ahead, and anyway, cooking wasn't her thing and she almost always ate out.

So, knowing fully well that she was the only one to blame, she piled on as many sweaters as she could find and headed outside. Too bad it seemed everyone had been smarter than her that day and already closed shop. Shit... what was she supposed to do now?

She spotted someone not to far, seemingly heading for a door. Great, at least something was open, right? She ran, as best as she could at least, towards the person... only to get the door shut right in her face right as she was about to get in.

"Okay... that could have gone better."

Priere didn't waste a moment before she got in and pretty much gripped the door shut. It was pretty obvious at this point that the place was closed and that the woman inside wasn't exactly here to shop. But at this moment? Yeah, she was freezing, she couldn't give a care in the world as long as she could warm up.

"Ehh... thanks. I thought my fingers were going to fall off..."

Meg's gaze didn't faze Priere at all, in fact, she barely noticed it while she was trying to warm herself up. And unlike her, she didn't have any problem trusting strangers, even if by trust she meant more along the lines of "try anything and I'll kick your ass". Both worked anyway, so it all worked out in the end.

"That and some light, geez. This place looks gloomy enough as it is," she said, already looking around. She came here often, yet it still didn't mean she actually knew where everything was. "Still... it's better than being outside, yeesh..."

"Oh yeah, I'm Priere," she finally said, as an afterthought.

While Priere would have preferred to find some sort of light switch, a lantern was still better than nothing. And anyway, at this point, it was pretty obvious that they were trespassing in the first place and shouldn't be here. So yeah, she wasn't about to start complaining.

She turned towards Megara as she said that. Hmm... now that she thought about it, she knew she had heard that voice before. Well, small world when you think about it. "Yeah I was. Urgh... that entire thing was just so stupid," she added, making a face as she suddenly recalled the past events. Honestly, she still wasn't sure what the stupidest part had been: the random demon flirting with everyone, or the fact that the thing had been caused by an actual love potion. Love potions... who the hell even used these things?
divine_storm: (Huh???)

"No kidding," Priere started, at first with every intentions of continuing this trail of thought. Meg was right after all, with all the problems they already had, why would anyone think slipping someone love potions was the best idea? Heck, what if said potion was slipped to everyone? Urgh, this was starting to give her a headache.

However, that little bit of discussion got shelved as the stove was discovered. "I think these things use firewood... maybe they have matches around..." she said, opening random drawers looking for anything useful.

Priere just kept opening and closing drawers furiously, feeling as if the roomer was getting colder and colder by the second. Naturally, the matches just happened to be in the last one, great. Oh well, no use complaining about it, she though as she tossed them towards Meg.

"We're doomed then~" she said jokingly, even though she had to admit that sometimes she did feel that way. "Especially considering what the people are charge are doing right now." IE, nothing useful.

"Oh nice!" Priere said as she got near the fire, rubbing her hands together and looking much happier than she had been earlier. "Finally, some heat~"

However, she did take a moment to ponder what Meg said. Sure, he looked like your average guy... you know, average. Sure, he seemed to hate everyone that wasn't a blonde prude, but he looked "normal".

Then again, her brother once said something similar about a certain demon before and things got ugly fast.

"Well, you never know around here. Best we can do is be ready for whatever he throws at us and go from there... even if it looks like it's going to be a snowball fight at this point."

Priere, on the other hand, didn't have much problems with talking to strangers. She couldn't see why it could be a problem, it was just talking after all, nothing more. And unlike Meg, Priere wasn't all that pessimist. "Oh, when things get though, people usually bounce back and get together," she said with a smile, speaking from experience. "I mean, we fixed a small problem here, right?"

Optimism...but not in the shiny, stupid way that so many heroes in this place fell into. Could optimism be realistic? Meg made herself more comfortable, sitting down on the ground in front of the stove. "Maybe...hey, how long have you been here? Have you seen people bouncing back a lot?" No time like the present to experience the perspective of someone different, right?
