Until You’re Resting Here With Me [Active]
Character(s): Wolf and Blue
Content: Two of the last wolves in Paixao meet-up.
Setting: The WildKat Coffee and possible other places
Time: Sunset
Warnings: Comfort, some angst, prepare for tissues.
Lost… Lost… Lost so many. Wolf sat there staring at his cup of coffee. He was sitting where Remus and him used to sit. He remembered how he used to get tea. He was rather fond of that. Wolf gave a slight chuckle to himself, but still felt rather lonely sitting there by himself without his friend’s presence. Honestly, there were a lot of folks he came close to while he was here, but have disappeared so suddenly. Having someone as close as Remus gone just made his heart drop. Back in his world, he was a lone wolf. Wolf didn’t have that many others like him that were his friends. To make one was a good sign for him, but like Remus and many others he met here, gone without a trace.
Then there was Blue, she was the only wolf besides himself that was left. Wolf breathed in, rubbing his thumb against the ceramic of the mug, at least there was that. For a moment he scratched the side of his ear, before putting his hand back underneath his chin as he looked out the window, waiting for dear Blue to show up so they can try to search once more for their friend.

It seemed to be happening a lot lately.
The half-breed slipped to a halt before WildKat's, her illusion sliding over her features as she opened the door and walked in, suddenly glad for the warmth. She stepped over to where he sat and sat down besides him.
"Hi," she said quietly. She bundled down to collect her warmth. "I was... almost expecting you not to be here. It would be my luck." She's glad he was.

Rubbing Blue’s shoulder, Wolf glanced out the window seeing how much the snow was piling up, “Grrf, It’s not too bad out there now is it?”
no subject
"Positive. Right." Positive thinking. She had to try. "It's piling up pretty bad, and it hasn't slowed down. I've never seen anything like it. But... it's still manageable enough, for now." She kept the 'not sure for how long' out of her words. Positive. Positive... She sighed, failing. "I kept hoping it would stop, or even lighten up. I've been mostly living in that park, but now..." She couldn't. It was too cold. Too much snow to be liveable.

Surely that wasn’t good enough, especially in this type of weather. Wolf bit his lip, “Goodness me, well that’s certainly not a good enough place for you no, especially right now.” He reached over to lift the cup of coffee to his lips trying to think, then giving a second thought as he looked over to Blue, “I think I’d rather you be in doors, preferably some place with at least a warm fire place or stove!”
Then Wolf put his cup back down as he gave his decision right away to Blue, “I’ll tell you what, you can stay with me, at least till this snow blows over. I don’t want you to be stranded out there by yourself, grrrf, no sir!”

But Blue has been in Paixao for... such a long time now. It's been a long time since she's had much other contact, and she lets herself be at ease by it.
"Well, it was nice before the snow came," she said quietly, lips quirking at an edge. And then at his suggestion she looked to him with surprise. "What? But - do you have the room?" She didn't want to impose...

“Grrrf, alright…” Wolf sniffed the air, curiously trying to figure out his surroundings and if he could possibly pick up a scent, he looked to Blue, “Where shall we look first? Maybe the library? I know he liked to read a lot of books while he was here.”

Blue tilts her head towards him, listening, more focused on Wolf describing what Remus liked instead of where to look. She wished she could have gotten to know Remus better before... this. She wished she could have found out why he had a similar smell to her and Wolf.
"That sounds reasonable," she says softly.
Her illusion drops as she digs around through the snow more, like Wolf trying to find a scent, but she huffs quietly with little luck, and peers back up at him with her canine eyes as though hoping he may lead.

Soon enough they came across the Library, Wolf looked back at Blue making sure she was still close and walked up the steps to open the door. “If we’re lucky he’s here,” Wolf said sniffing the air, then kneeling down to see if he can catch a scent, “I know last time he was here he wanted to learn the history of this place.”
no subject
She shakes herself out of it, sniffing at the air, taking another step up and looking around for any signs, no matter how faint they may be.

Sniffing the air, Wolf tried investigating some of the aisles, trying to look everywhere he could. He glanced over at Blue, as he tried bent down to sniff the ground, “Any luck?”

The scents in the library were varied. Wolf's was, of course, the easiest to pick up. There were fainter ones. Citizens, probably. But nothing familiar. Nothing that gave Blue that quizzical feeling of when she first met Remus.
She slides around to the next aisle, getting further away from Wolf, as though maybe the distance would help her pick up Remus' better. It doesn't. She frowns. Would he have left the city? Could the fields have disguised his scent? Maybe the lumens -?
Blue sighs. She peruses more of the library, asking the woman at the counter if she's seen someone of Remus' description recently. After a bit longer, she returns to Wolf and tries to smile, but the edges are sad.
"Nothing. How about you?"
no subject
As soon as Blue returned to Wolf’s side, he shook his head softly, “No sadly, I couldn’t,” Wolf spoke, his eyes then looked down at the ground. Hope seemed to be dwindling on a fine thread here. Giving a small forced smile to Blue as he looked back up at her, “It’s alright… Maybe if we’re lucky he’ll show up later. Paixao has a weird sense of people coming and going. Perhaps one day he’ll come back to us and we’ll all be together again. As a pack.”
Wait, the p-a-c-k word. Wolf always knew he had to be careful saying it growing up, what with wolves being so sought out to be killed back home, most wolves didn’t want to be in packs. Scratching the back of his neck, as he tried to get rid of the lump in throat, “That is… It at least felt like pack when we were together… All three of us, did you, did you get that feeling too?” Wolf asked, though hesitantly, as if he might have been hoping for a little too much here.

Now Toboe, Tsume, and Remus were all gone without a trace. It happened to Blue so much that she'd almost grown accustomed to people disappearing from her. But, Wolf was still here. And those two Doctors. That was something.
She turns to grin at him. "If we ever see them again, we'll just have to welcome them back and berate them for worrying us, hm? For now... well..." Her gaze shifts. "I doubt the snow is getting any better."
no subject
Giving a solemn nod, “Awwwooo, seems so, maybe one day we’ll see them again…” Wolf took his glance from snow back to Blue with a soft smile, “At least we’re still here together.”
In a brief moment of thought, Wolf reached out his hand to hold Blue’s, “Come on… Let’s go home.”
*shifty eyes*
She couldn't, in fact.
"Alright," she agrees. "Lead the way."

"That'll be a luxury," she replies with a small smirk, though she's truthful in the comment.

Soon enough they arrived at the Iriela Apartments. Wolf led the way for the both of them up to his apartment. Reaching in his pockets he took out the key to open the door for them both. Letting Blue enter first, he smiled toward her, “Welcome~ To my humble den~.”
It wasn’t too messy, a blanket or two was lying clumsy on the couch. And there were some empty cups of tea lying around. But the place seemed pretty cozy enough. There certainly was enough pillow space.

She remains near the entrance though, feeling a bit like an intruder despite that she'd been invited. Wolves of Paixao gotta stick together, right? Still.
"Do I get a tour?" she asks. She isn't expecting much, though it would be good to know what would be considered "her room."

Wolf gave a clever smirk as put some of the cups and plates in the sink. And opened the fridge, “Where the bacon is stored.” He then moved out toward the hallway, opening the first room on the left. “This is my room, here, grrrf bed needs to be made I’m afraid,” Wolf pointed to his right as he went down the hall, “Bathroom, annnd, here at the end is Remus’ room. I’m sure he won’t mind you staying there.”
