We are different, yet we all feel the same way. [Active, Closed]

Character(s): Woody, Nana, Naminé, and maybe Bullseye too
Content: A get-together in which a friendship between toys, a Nobody, and a Diclonius strengthen. They get to draw some pictures too!
Setting: At Café Eresat near Muspelheim
Time: Backlogged to week 34
Warnings: None, just lots of cute. ^.^

Nana told Naminé over the network that she would be there soon. She didn’t know when Woody would arrive, or whether or not Bullseye was coming with him, but she believed that at least Woody was on his way.

With a little bit of help from the map, she made it to the area near the Muspelheim. Kakyuu and Nana had been to the café before, so she remembered what the place looked like.

There was a concern for Naminé. Nana knew what it was like to be different from other people. She didn’t really want to talk about her old life though, and Naminé probably didn’t want to talk about why she hesitated when saying who she was—and that was okay. Talking about other things and drawing together would make their worries go away! Meeting and getting to know Woody was another thing to look forward to!

Was Naminé waiting inside, or was she sitting at one of the tables by the front door? All the other people around with blonde hair looked the same, but she looked a lot younger than these grown ups. Nana knew she was the only one of her kind around in Paixao, so her new friend would be able to recognize her right away.

Naminé wasn't quite there yet when Nana made it over. The trip was a little bit longer for her, but soon enough she arrived. Noticing the very distinct appearance of her friend, she gripped her bag of sketchbooks and pencils to her chest and hurried forward.

"Nana?" she questioned, really hoping she hadn't made the mistake of asking after the wrong person. "It's me, Naminé."

A horse friend, too? Naminé was curious but she didn't ask, just smiling as she realized she'd found the right person. That was good.

"We should probably sit down for this. I can... find a table if you're waiting for Woody?"

It was normal for her to be the one not included, so somehow this didn't seem very different to her. She suddenly realized she hadn't shown Nana what was in her bag yet, so she opened it up a little bit.

"This is all of my drawing stuff," she explained. "For when we decide to try later."

An empty table stood nearby, so Naminé headed for it, sitting down across from Nana and pulling out her sketchbook and colored pencils.

"I'm not used to drawing with other people yet," she admitted shyly, smiling at Nana. "Usually... I just do it for myself. But I guess I'm not the only one who likes to draw."

And that was great. She liked it.

"Oh... these are colored pencils. They're a little different. Sharper."

She demonstrated the different effects colored pencils could give that crayons couldn't. Like shading.

"You can use some of mine if you want."

Thankfully it wasn’t too far for Bullseye and Woody from the Palazzo Townhomes. Riding on his horse’s saddle Woody made sure to look out for anyone again to not notice them, they sure have been lucky so far, with every knock on wood for the continuation of luck, of course. Looking down, Woody gave a grin to Bullseye.

“We’re makin’ a lotta friend aren’t we Bullseye? I hope ya don’t mind meeting human kids, things sure are different here in Paixao,” Woody spoke thoughtfully as they went on their way to meet up with the girls, giving a sigh, “Honestly though, we need to try to be more careful alright Bullseye? I’m letting the toy code slide only slightly here, but only ‘cause some of the kids we talk to on the boards are here real nice and ain’t gonna tell no one we can walk and talk. At least I know I can trust them. But we can’t let anyone else know, alright? Unless you know, they’re trustworthy and we know them to be.” Woody felt it was important they still know about the code, even if it has been slipping up a bit recently. He’s pretty sure Bullseye will be alright, but still, a little reminder for themselves now and again wouldn’t hurt.

Seeing the girls by the café, Woody gave a big smile, patting Bullseye, “Hey! There they are! Ooooh, looks like they brought out the crayons, allllright Bullseye ya ready for some coloring?” He asked as he got closer to the girls waving up at them, making, “Hey howdy hey gals! Y’all ain’t gonna start without us, are ya?”

i'm... JUST GOING TO SNEAK A BULLSYE POST IN HERE CAUSE ITS EASIER FOR ME THAT WAY, I HOPE THATS OK

Bullseye nodded happily in response to Woody's question. It seemed like Paixao was full of nice people! He hadn't really interacted one on one with any of the human children yet, but hearing the sheriff talk about it made him feel excited... and a little scared at the same time. It was true that the toy code was getting swept under the rug a little bit, but... this city wasn't exactly all that normal, either. He nodded, with more of a serious look about him at that bit.

At the mention of colouring, the horses' ears perked up and he trotted with a spring in his step, eager to see what it was the girls were creating!

"I've only drawn with a couple of people before this," Naminé admitted, watching Nana. "You don't have to push down as hard on pencils to get them to color. I think I like them better than crayons."

She gave an encouraging nod and would have added more, but someone addressed them. She couldn't see anything at first, but then she remembered what Nana had told her. Looking down, she spotted two toys. They must've been Woody and his horse. Naminé hesitated for a moment and then reached down, offering to pick them up if they needed the help getting up on the table.

"Of course not," she answered, noting how similar she'd just sounded to Kairi. Maybe she was picking a few things up. "Nana was practicing drawing with my new colored pencils."

Woody chuckled up at Nana, giving a shrug, “Comes with bein’ a toy, we come in all shapes and sizes, mostly small.” He came over to let Namine pick Bullseye and him up. He was used to this being a toy after all. Woody tipped his hat up at Namine, since it was their first time meeting.

“And you must be Namine, pleasure to make your acquaintance m’am,” Woody said with a friendly smile, he looked over to Bullseye and introduced his friend to the girls, “Bullseye, this is Nana and Namine. Nana, Namine, this is my good friend Bullseye!”

Bullseye's eyes widened at being picked up, and then took in the new view from the table as she put them down. The two girls looked very nice! As Woody introduced him to the both of them, Bulleye bowed his head and looked up at them, curiously. Sure, he had met Flonne, but this was his first time meeting real humans. At least... they looked like humans.

Timidly, his tail swished from side to side, wondering what they thought of him and the sheriff.

Naminé deposited the toys onto the table, looking at them curiously as they spoke. She'd never seen one before. It was kind of like meeting a new friend, or an actual Somebody for the first time. She liked it, liked knowing these people didn't mind what she was.

"Nice to meet you both," she told them with a nervous smile. "It's good to meet new friends, especially... if they'll draw with you."

She offered her case of pencils in case Woody wanted to try using them, too. She wouldn't mind. Hm, maybe she should have brought finger paints for Bullseye.

“Ha-Hey, you bet it is!” Woody said with a big smile as picked up one of the crayons, letting it twirl once in his hand before putting it back down, “What’s a better way of passing the time, then drawing with your new friends?” He grinned at Nana, “Why sure there are some really big plush toys, usually they’re the big stuffed animals. I don’t usually see them much, but I’m sure they’re probably just as great for playtime-Heeeeeey speaking of drawing and playtime… How ‘bout we give a little show down for you guys, cowboy style… We usually always do this, it’s alotta fun, usually it’s whoever is the first on the fly.”

Woody gave a knowing smirk as he peered over at Bullseye, “Hey, Bullseye…” Woody then whirled around pointing his fingers at Bullseye, “DRAW!”

[identity profile] bullseying.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
At the mention of his name, Bullseye perked up at Woody's words and caught on exactly to what he meant. He drew up his front hooves, stand on his hind ones, his makeshift pistols coming a little too late - !! He pounded one hoof to his chest, his tongue hanging over the side of his mouth as he flopped down, the loser of the duel.

He laid there for one a few seconds before opening the corner of one eye -- to see their reactions -- then quickly closing it to re-assuming 'playing dead.'

Naminé just smiled at Woody and Bullseye, glad they'd managed to come, too. She was really starting to like them. And Woody was so enthusiastic it was hard not to let it affect her, too. When he told Bullseye to draw, she watched with interest, wondering what they were going to dr-

...And then suddenly Bullseye was lying on the ground and Naminé had no idea what had just happened. "Is he... is he okay?" She hadn't seen anything that meant he'd been hit, but... he looked... well, dead!

“What-? Oh nononono-No! He’s just pretending, really! He’s alright it’s just something we usually do when we play a showdown,” Woody waves his hands trying his best to assure them it was just for play, he came over to Bullseye, “Hey Bullseye, it’s ok you can stop pretending now.” He then rubbed his chin, “Hm, maybe we should show them something a little more ‘rodeo’ and less ‘O.K. Corral’.”

Woody snapped his plastic fingers together, “Hey Bullseye, wanna show them another playtime we can do? How about we try the saving the critters?” He said pointed to some of the smaller crayons as the ‘critters’.

When Woody came over, signaling him that the draw was over -- he rose again to his four feet and wagged his tail as he looked over both girls -- his indication that everything was just fine!

He turned back to the sheriff again and nodded so hard, you could practically hear the 'yeah, yeah' from his otherwise silent self.

"Oh!" Naminé perked right up as Bullseye got up again and walked over. A smile lit up her face as she looked down at them. "That's cool. I like games, but I've never played any like that."

Then again, her repertoire of 'games' was very small.
