Add a few New Painting to My Gallery [Active]

Character(s): [livejournal.com profile] sundrophair and you!
Content: Rapunzel has found a huge canvas to paint on, a wall near city hall. That lingering graffiti needed to be covered up anyways!
Time: Afternoon, mid week.
Warnings: Nothing so far

Rapunzel hadn't gotten a chance to paint in forever. She, of course, did not have her usual paint set made from white sea shells, but she had been able to find something to take it's place. She had practiced with the new paints on pieces of paper, but now it was time to put them to the ultimate test. Could they stand up to a mural?

The thought that she might get in trouble for painting on a public space hadn't even occurred to her. She'd been able to draw on the ground that day in Corona, so what was so different about painting on the wall here in Paixao? Besides, someone had drawn on it before, but her picture would be alot nicer to look at. So now here she was, all set up with her paints out, colors mixed, and brushes laid out so she could go wild.

She began her mural around eleven in the morning, and at about two in the afternoon she was still at it. The picture going up over the graffiti was full of colors and sun splashes. So much better than what was there before.

Yorda had gone for another walk. Ever since Geoffrey had come to live with Mao and her, she'd been taking them more frequently; she didn't like the way Geoffrey's eyes narrowed at her, nor the curl of his lip - and it always seemed like he was thinking most unpleasant thoughts in Yorda's general direction. She'd thought of mentioning it to Mao, but hadn't thought of a way to do so just yet.

The princess was distracted from her worrisome thoughts when she saw a young woman painting. She'd seen Naminé's drawings before, but she didn't quite see the connection, as it had been awhile ago. So she settled for simply watching Rapunzel, head slightly tilted to one side.

"What are you doing?"

Yorda stepped closer, looking curiously at the mural that was slowly forming. She had never seen anything like it; it was colorful and cheerful. "I would like to," she replied, looking back at the girl. "How is it done?" She'd only seen a little of what Rapunzel had been doing, so she was still unsure as to where she should begin.

While she was at it, she looked at Rapunzel's hair. She had never seen hair so long before - not even Urd's, whose hair fell past her waist - and she tended to keep her own hair relatively short.

That sounded easy enough. Yorda accepted the brush with a smile and watched the other paint for a few moments, thinking of what she wanted to paint. She'd always liked the birds on her island, the way they'd flutter hesitantly near, chirping curiously at her, even if they flew away if she so much as drew near.

She dipped the paintbrush into the white paint and moved over to the wall, carefully sweeping the brush over the stone with an unsure hand in the rough outline of a bird, its wings outstretched.

Wondering around the city, Aladdin decided to just explore around, interested in seeing some of the other folks around here. He paused when he noticed a familiar lovely girl with long blonde hair and another girl with a pale complexion. She also look familiar, he’s pretty sure she looks like someone Genie and Urd had mentioned before. The blonde girl Aladdin knew was Rapunzel, he met her on the journals before.

Giving a smile Aladdin approached the girls putting his hands on hips observing what they were painting, “Afternoon~ Ladies,” he replied giving his usual suave smile, then giving a whistle, “Heeey, I didn’t know you were an artist too Rapunzel. You remember me, right? Aladdin? So what are guys working on, a mural?”

Yorda beamed back. "I am glad," she told her, happily continuing her painting, unrefined as it was. She paused, however, upon hearing an unfamiliar voice. Stepping back from the wall, she turned to look curiously at the man. He definitely wasn't dressed in a manner she'd become familiar with here, and the girl stepped a little more near him, the better to examine him more closely. And, of course, ask a question. "What is a mural?"

She looked back at Rapunzel. "My name is Yorda," came the reply. "Who are you?"

Aladdin gave a shrug, “Sure, warning though, not a very good artist.” Giving a little chuckle as he picked up a paintbrush, rubbing his chin, wondering what he should paint on the wall. Perhaps he should draw something from home. Like perhaps the palace or Jasmine or… Wait, Yorda?

Turning over to the girl, giving a smile, “Yorda? Heeey! You’re the girl Urd and Genie talked about, the name’s Aladdin! It’s nice to meet you too!”

Aladdin's exclamation drew a stare from Yorda, the girl blinking in surprise - people spoke of her? - before she smiled. "How do you know Urd and Genie?" She looked upon Genie as something of an eccentric uncle - or she would, if she'd known what an uncle was - and Urd as something of a mother-figure, and loved them both deeply. She missed them and wanted to see them again; perhaps she could visit them soon.

"I am glad to meet you both," she replied, watching the bow curiously.

Aladdin grinned at Rapunzel as starting painting at what looked like rough doodly version of the Palace back in Agrabah. Giving a nod at the explanation of a mural, he’s pretty sure he’s seen Genie try and do some of those before.

Looking over at Yorda, Aladdin nodded at the mention of his friends, “Oh Genie has been my good friend for a long time, he’s from the same world as me back in Agrabah. And I met Urd when I came over to live with them,” giving a little chuckle, “Man she’s one friendly Goddess.” When Rapunzel’s brush fell on the floor, Aladdin bent down to pick it up for her, smiling as he handed it to her, “Heh, dropped your brush.”

Giving a bow as well, “Anyway, yea! It’s a pleasure!” Then turning his attention back to the mural, “So I was thinking about painting the palace I know about back home on here, whattya guys thinking about putting on here?”

"What is Agrabah?" Yorda asked, mucking the unfamiliar word up a bit. Her native island had never had a name, at least not one that she knew of. Perhaps her mother had known, but she'd never bothered to tell her, or indeed much of anything, save that Yorda had been born to become her vessel. Upon seeing Aladdin give a bow as well, the princess gave one of her own, imitating what Rapunzel had done.

But friends? She did love those she'd grown close to dearly, but the word "friend" had never really occurred to her before, perhaps because she'd never had a friend before in her life. The glowing girl smiled at Rapunzel. "That would be nice. I think they would like you." Then again, Urd was a friendly sort, and Genie liked just about everybody.

"I am painting things from my island," she replied simply, carefully finishing the first bird. It was sloppy, but at least it was recognizably a bird - Yorda had never painted before.

Aladdin shrugged with a grin, “Hey no problem!” He gave a nod dipping his own brush in some paint, “I’ll be sure to introduce ya some day, I’m sure they’ll like ya. Especially Genie, he’s very friendly.” Heck, he practically see Genie braiding Rapunzel’s hair and putting all sorts of flowers in it. Painting in some of parts of his drawing he glanced back at Rapunzel as he painted. Trying to keep in the lines as best as he could, “Wow, I’d like to see that sometime myself!”

At the mention of Agrabah, Aladdin gestured, “Oh well, Agrabah is a place in the desert, I used to live there with my friends before I came here. Genie used to live there with me too.” Looking over curiously at Yorda’s art, “You lived on an island?”

Yorda listened to the happy chatting of the other two as she worked, a soft smile curving her lips as she painted a few dandelions (she didn't know what they were called, actually, but she had seen some of them on the island and had grown rather fond of them, especially when they turned into puffballs she could blow away with just a soft rush of breath). "I used to live on an island, but it is gone now. I live here." The princess had been happy to find herself in Paixao, especially considering she had never been able to live freely before. She hadn't known there to be so much more out there than was just on her island, and it delighted the glowing girl constantly when she discovered yet another thing she hadn't known before.

“Oh, well that’s great then!” Aladdin said with a smile at Yorda, maybe this place was better for the girl. But he’s not gonna go make any assumptions just yet. For now things were fine as they were for her, so that must be all right. Aladdin gave a smile as he folded his arms holding one of the paintbrushes as he stood back with Rapunzel to look at the painting they did together.

“Wow… Wouldja look at that,” Aladdin said admiring their work, well mostly the girl’s works. To him, his drawings looked like ruddy scribbles, but eh. Best he could do really. “It looks really nice!”

Yorda smiled. "It is," she affirmed with a happy nod, stepping back to look at the wall. Her own paintings were childish and rather messy, but she'd had fun with them nevertheless. The glowing girl beamed at the other two as she listened. "I am glad," she replied. Aladdin's and Rapunzel's both looked better than hers, but she had never painted anything before in her life, and that was only to be expected. Maybe she could pick up some painting materials when she went home later, so she could practice. She already had a sketchbook half-filled with rough scribbles after Naminé had taught her how to draw; maybe she could learn to paint, too, when she wasn't exploring, reading, or working with Mao in the lab.

Giving out a joyful laughter to share with Rapunzel. Aladdin rubbed the back of his neck. Really it’s no big deal, but man, it sure feels good to just let loose and have fun with someone else every once in a while. “We all did a great job,” Aladdin said with a big smile, “Things really do look the best when you work together to make stuff like this!”

Aladdin gave out a pleasant sigh, “Man, I haven’t done something like this in a long time. It feels nice!”
