Definitely not in China anymore [Active/OPEN]

Character(s): Fa Mulan and OPEN
Content: Mulan arrives in Paixao
Setting: Muspelheim
Time: Week 33, Evening
Warnings: None at all as far as I'm aware

The sight of the golden flamed gate and the outside of the dome had been strange enough to Mulan before she had even entered it. Now that she was inside though, the design of the place completely threw her off guard. She had never once seen anything like it. It even seemed to rival the emperor's own palace, and that was saying something.

She looked down at the device that had been handed to her, another source of confusion. What was it? She couldn't understand it at all. She twirled it around in her hands, inspecting every inch of it; trying to understand it. She even went so far as to try pressing some of the buttons, but even that didn't help her figure out what the device was for. It didn't help that she had never seen one before.

After a few moments of meddling, she stuffed it into her sash for safekeeping before finally moving onto other matters. For instance, finding out where she was and what was going on.

"Excuse me." She called out to the first person she could, and could only hope they could shed some light on the situation.

Iroh, happy with the success that the tea party at his tea shop brought to him, decided to close the shop for the day and simply enjoy the company of the natives and immigrants of the mysterious city. He wanted to bring along a tsungi horn, but he feared that he would be more disruptive than anything if he hoisted around a ton of brass that sounded like an elephant's throaty braying. He had a habit of employing his various musical talents when he traveled through Paixao, so instead, he hummed quietly to himself.

He, like other immigrants to the city, was not keen to the strict dress code enforced against the non-natives. He wore his traditional emerald robes from his home in Bao Sing Se and instead compensated by employing kindness to boost his standing in the community. He still received plenty of sneers from the more uptight citizens, but he merely shrugged them off before entering another verse of his own Paixao anthem.

A light voice came calling out in the midst of a crowd. Looking around, he noticed he was by the Muspelheim entrance and it became clear to him. Almost everyday, it seemed, there was another confused soul entering the new world they are now forced to inhabit. While he had become used to hearing the cries for help, it still bothered him that the city had not done more to make the experience more informed or safe.

He turned to face the bearer of the voice to find a beautiful young woman standing in the plaza looking for any person who could assist her. Being the ever chivalrous one, Iroh scooted his plump body over to the young girl and smiled brightly.

"Welcome! My name is Iroh, and I imagine you have just arrived in Paixao. May I escort you through the city?" he asked, offering his arm.

No worries. I have my own brand of late on this tag. XD

Iroh could tell Mulan was as uneasy as he was when he first arrived to Paixao, so he was not offended by the declined gesture. He craned his hand back into his cuff and resumed his typical posture. "A pleasure, Mulan. I can understand if you have many questions."

He gave a shallow chuckle to Mulan's first query. "Paixao is the name. It is unusual, but compared to where home is, any other place sounds strange. While many find this place as a temporary stay, there are some like myself who have found a way to make this city a place to enjoy and stay," he said while looking around to the people swirling around him, "There are people who were here before visitors like us. But for the people who arrived here, I could not imagine a more unique group of individuals."
