Just own the night (Active / Closed)
Character(s): Suki, Sokka
Content: DATE
Setting: um... tbd
Time: Early evening?
Warnings: CAVITIES.
Suki had been looking forward to this for a while now. They hadn't really had much of a chance to do something like this, what with the Spira trip that ended in disaster and everything else that was going on in the city. But now... now they'd made time for it.
So, at the foot of their apartment complex, Suki pulled out a map and glanced at it. She and Sokka still had to decide where they were going on their date. To be honest, Suki was just happy they were going on one. It felt like ages since they'd really been able to... assuming traveling back home had ever even let them...
"How about here?" she suggested finally, pointing at Porfavore's on the map. It looked like a nice enough place. Maybe that would work?

"How about here?" she suggested finally, pointing at Porfavore's on the map. It looked like a nice enough place. Maybe that would work?

And, sure, this wasn't the ideal place, but ignoring the weirdos, some of it wasn't half bad.
"Por-fay-v-vores," Sokka said, trying to pronounce the name, as he peered down at Suki's journal. "Weird name, but sounds work checking out."
Of course, just as long as they had meat, Sokka would be happy.

With that decided, she rolled up the map and tucked it into a pocket. Hesitating for only a brief moment, she reached out to take his hand with a smile. What? It had been a really long time since they'd done something like this and she was going to milk it for all it was worth.
"Come on, let's go check it out."
With any luck, it wouldn't be very far, either.

He didn't even hesitate a second to wrap his fingers around Suki's hand. Man, being stuck here sucked, but it sucked a whole lot less with Suki here. Hopefully everything would be perfect tonight.
Happily holding her hand, he walked along beside her as they made their way to the restaurant.

"You know... I'm glad you're here."
At least the trip over to the restaurant wasn't too long and soon enough they were being seated and asked for drinks. Suki ordered a simple iced tea and waited for Sokka.

Was that cheesy? Probably. A bit. Oh well, whatever. He couldn't really take it back now.
Well, this place looked okay, looking over the menu, Sokka went with having the same drink as Suki. It was the main course he was going to be picky over. Predictably, he was scanning over the meals that involved meat--or rather what he assumed was meat anyways.

The menu looked pretty decent to Suki and she scanned it, managing to pick out more dishes she thought Sokka would like than ones she would. The seafood looked pretty good, but she thought she'd try something different. Maybe a pasta dish or something with meat, like she knew Sokka would get.
Eventually, she leaned over towards him. "Do you know what you're getting?"

He pointed to one that said was a 'marinade steak' and the other that said 'meatloaf'. Predictably, it was very clear that it was meat dishes Sokka had his eyes on.
"I'm not sure what beef is, but the first one sounds good, but the other even has meat in the name, which makes it sound pretty promising," Sokka explained, still looking between the two thoughtfully.
"...Or maybe roast chicken. That would be the safer option."
He'd make a decision eventually.
no subject
To her, that sounded like the best option. That way, Sokka wouldn't miss out on anything he wanted to try. Suki didn't really mind either way. She'd just be happy with food at this point.

"Then it's decided, I'll be trying the 'Meat loaf'!" he proclaimed, sounding wonderfully happy with his choice. Now they'd just have to wait for the server to return to them so they could order, which luckily didn't take long. Of course, the fact Sokka had announced pretty loudly what he was having probably had something to do with it.

The server came back at Sokka's outcry, bringing Suki out of her thoughts, and she made her order after his.
"I wonder what they'll taste like?" she murmured, half to herself and half to him. "It's nice that we could decide so fast, though. We were thinking the same thing."
