Character(s): Aqua and Xemnas
Content: Aqua gets the chance to meet Xemnas.
Setting: Q-1 Aka the top, right corner of the map.
Time: Not too long after Aqua's post.
Warnings: IDEK.
Aqua did wish she could have followed Urd's advice. She would never deny that it was foolish to do this alone, but it was something she felt she had to do; that she had to face. She was not just facing an enemy, after all, but also a friend; at least, that's what she hoped. She had no idea how much of Terra was left inside this Nobody half. Facing him was the only way she was certain she could find out.
Climbing down a rocky slope, her high heels sunk deep into sand, as she walked out to the water's edge, gazing out into the endless waving water. It really was hard to believe that none of this was real; that is was all inside a castle.
The Keyblade Master was hardly relaxed. She didn't know what to expect. She could only stand there, apprehensively, ready to summon her Master's keyblade at a moment's notice.

Yet there were no words. It was a rare occasion - no, there was no other occasion where he would make an audience when requested. He did not care about the qualms of the beings in this city... all these... Somebodies.
But even Xemnas had exceptions, and this was one of them, though even he understood why.
Standing there stiffly, Xemnas bides his time, and merely watches Aqua.

"So... you're Xemnas."
It wasn't a question, since she knew this couldn't be anyone else. No one else knew she would be here.
Slowly she turned, her gaze examining his current form--what little she could see. If this was Xehanort's Nobody, it was certainly not the shape of the Xehanort she'd known. Tall and straight, with a wide chest... She couldn't yet be truly certain, but it felt like Terra's form she was seeing. She could also see the grin from the shadows of the hood, and it was certainly unsettling.

"You were brave to come alone," he rumbles. "Did you not know? That kind of behavior can get one killed." His eyes flash with humor and he laughs shortly, then steps forward, his gait almost predatory. But despite all this, he has no intention as of yet to attack her.
no subject
"This isn't the first time I've faced you alone," she replied, remaining poised, not moving from her spot. Of course, it was only part of him she faced now, but still, that was the point.

There is no indication on his face of acknowledgement or confusion to her words. He remains impassive, even though in his mind he is collecting the information, scanning it over, searching for flaws in the things she is saying or will be saying. Reaping her for information.
In that way, perhaps, they are alike.
What he did know: he did not face her in Paixao.
"Ah, yes. And yet there are always changes, and time puts quite the damper on perspective."
no subject
"There's been a great deal of change," she agreed. "To everything... Everyone."
Herself included, which was her point. Everyone else had aged and grown, but she hadn't been stagnant. How many Heartless had she fought in the Darkness? She couldn't even fathom a number.

To everything...
He looks at her, gaze sharper than previously. Could she...? No. He was reading too much into her words. He pushed the thought aside.
"You came here to speak with me. What is it you seek?" Surely nothing so foolish as to ask for freedom from this place, or tea like that Genie tried to spin. There had to be something else to her, or else she was not worth his time. Isn't that why he agreed to meet her?
Uncertainty did not sit kindly in Xemnas' mind.

"I seek my friend," Aqua replied, still managing to keep herself calm under his sharp gaze. Locking her eyes onto his, her gaze is steady and unwavering.
"Terra."
no subject
"Yo! Master! What, you don't remember me?"
- and -
"Don't tell me. You aren't... Terra, are you?"
The moment passes. The memory is gone, nearly completely. Xemnas ignores it.
"Then it seems our business is concluded, unless..." Suddenly, he's mere inches to her side, staring down with narrow eyes and a smirk. "...you will tell me everything you know." He could find out. It would be easy - but he doesn't. Something stops him - something else that he ignores.

Aqua found herself with no time to mull over what she thought she'd seen. Suddenly Xemnas was there, right beside her. She jerked, taking in a sharp breath, as she was most certainly taken off guard, but she steeled herself, holding her ground.
"I have nothing to tell you," she replied, glaring right back up at him, fingers flexing open, ready to grasp her master's keyblade the moment she might need to summon it. She'd wanted to avoid a fight, but it was starting to seem like it might be inevitable.
no subject
"So be it," he replies coolly. He turns away from her, still alert of her movements if she dares to attack him. Before he steps through the portal, he tells her a warning: "This will not be the last time we meet." And steps through. If she follows him before the portal closes, there will be trouble.
no subject
But the portal closed, leaving Aqua alone on the beach.
"...Terra..."
She stood there a moment, replaying the last few moments. He'd been close enough that she'd finally got a good look at his face; a face that was most definitely familiar. He looked like Terra! Why had he not attacked her? Why did he not seem to truly recognize her?
There were so many things that didn't add up. What had happened to him after she'd sent him back to the realm of light? What had Xehanort done?!
It seemed Aqua's quest for answers had only begun.
