There's something akin to temptation in wanting to fight with her, to see what this undisclosed recognition is worth and to crush it if he so needs to. He's certain she has much to tell him, much that perhaps she shouldn't know. There is a difference about her that greatly disturbs him. But in the moment that he has a hand out, gathering energy for an attack, he stops and snuffs it out, instead flicking the hand to his side and summoning a portal.

"So be it," he replies coolly. He turns away from her, still alert of her movements if she dares to attack him. Before he steps through the portal, he tells her a warning: "This will not be the last time we meet." And steps through. If she follows him before the portal closes, there will be trouble.
