Insert travelling music here [Active/closed]

Character(s): Setzer and Xion
Content: Xion's wandering around Paixao (as usual) and runs into someone...
Setting: Somewhere in the area of Vanaheim
Time: Afternoon

Xion had gotten pretty good at navigating her way around Paixao by now, given that the time she didn't spend with her friends was usually taken up by her wandering (mostly so she didn't have to go back to the Organization). The people still looked at her weird, but she was learning to ignore them and just try to enjoy the city. Most of it was actually really nice, especially the beach. Which was where she was heading now.

She was still a ways off from the gate, but the beach was already in her mind as she headed along. The one on the floor that looked like Sora's world was nicer- but she felt weird going up there by herself. And the one outside the gate wasn't bad. (Not that she had but so much to compare it with.) So she walked towards the gate, trying not to stand out- but a petite figure with their face hidden under a hood did attract a few stares. At least she wasn't in her uniform.

As far as Setzer was concerned, there was nothing wrong with standing out. It made you more memorable. Mind, one did have to be careful to cultivate the right sort of appearance, but that was easy enough. When you were the only one of something, you could easily afford to be seen as a little eccentric. Or more than, but that wasn't so much the point here. Here he was just a misplaced wanderer, longing for the sky.

And given like's tendency to call for like, he couldn't help but notice the hooded figure heading through the streets. What their reason for going about hooded was, he had no idea, and honestly he didn't much care. He could at least offer some company, and without a further thought, he headed so that their paths would neatly intersect. No sense in running after them.

"Care for some company?" he asked, as he drew near.

He would have been well and truly surprised, if someone had honestly taken him for a native. As far as he was aware he'd yet to see anyone wearing anything even close to his own coat. But no matter. Other people's fashion decisions were never really what interested him.

"Setzer Gabbiani," he answered with a smile. "Most people call me Setzer."

"Likewise."

It was always nice to meet new people, after all. Presuming, of course, they were no Kefka, and thus far Setzer wasn't getting that sense from Xion. Even if she did seem to prefer keeping her hood up. Better yet, he was quite will to carry on the bulk of the conversation, if that was what was asked of him.

"Might I ask where we're going?"

Why would he have not liked the beach? True, it wasn't near as good as the sky, but there was certainly nothing wrong with the beach. Especially in comparison with the stifling dome over the city proper.

"Quite alright. I've no problems with the beach."

There was a moment of silence from Setzer at that. He'd honestly stopped counting, when it had become far too obvious that he wasn't about to be returning home anytime soon. To be honest, he'd almost stopped thinking about, except for in his darker moods.

"Longer than most people here, I'd wager."

There was a nod in kind from Setzer at that. Six months was quite the stretch of time to spend in a place like this, even if it made a decent attempt at having most of the things an average person might want.

"What do you think of the place, if I may ask?"

[identity profile] withwingstofly.livejournal.com 2011-06-02 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Setzer nodded. He couldn't really say he shared that particular feeling for the city, but he wouldn't have asked her to have the same viewpoint. It would be a boring world if everyone had the same opinions.

"I can imagine that does bring some joy into this hand."

"I'm afraid I miss my wings far to much to say I'd like to stay here," Setzer answered, without missing even so much as a beat. "But I've been here too long to do anything but start to tolerate the place."

Provided judicious application of not thinking about any of the problems at hand, and yes, it probably wasn't all that healthy in the least, but it was a start. And for now, it generally managed to work.

Now that was a kind of question he didn't often hear. True, it was certainly possible that some worlds didn't have beaches, but if that were the case he was fairly certain he didn't want to go to them. What was the point of wandering where one would if there wasn't anything interesting to be seen?

"All sorts of beaches," he answered with a smile.

"It had its charms," Setzer answered with a slight smile. Beaches couldn't compare to the sky, and things had gotten far too ruined of late to be of great interest over all. But it had been nice, before Kefka had taken his claws to the world and perhaps that was good enough.
