FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC. [ complete ]
Character(s): Kuja & Scar
Content: Arrival into the city of Paixao~ ahh! So magical!
Setting: Vanaheim Gate.
Time: Mid-morning? Why not. Week 31.
Warnings: Fabulosity~! Threats. So far. (and that's just with kuja... o_O )
"I suggest you not toy with me, it's so unfortunate to get off on the wrong foot," he suggested in a pleasant tone, though his expression hardly matched. He leaned in over the counter and rested his head on his hand, perched up by the elbow. "Now, as I was saying, a place like this is hardly befitting someone of my expertise. So it would be in your best interest to open up whatever sort of gateway you decided to use, and reverse the process."
"I'm sorry, you must step aside so that the line can proceed..."
"Perhaps I'm not making myself clear..." Kuja was beginning to show obvious annoyance, that seemed to be on a fast track to deteriorating into violence. "Now if you don't open the portal back up in the next two minutes, you will soon find that your imitation grass and flowers you've got here make quite suitable kindling. Open it. Now."
The lady was backing up, her hands up in defense. "I... I have nothing to do with -- "

"You may as well just give up, that pathetic creature can't do much of anything, much less send you back where you came from." He spoke as he approached, the crowd parting only slightly to let him past. They didn't give him as much space in these parts...he'd have to lean why that was.
"If you must know, you're just as stuck here as the rest of us. Now the sooner you accept your fate, the sooner you can move on and do something useful with your time rather than just threatening that wretched, pointless creature." The condescension in his tone made the girl at the gate scowl at him, but when she saw his teeth she quickly changed the expression to one rather more fitting--she was now cowering behind the desk.

He struck a pose a few feet from Scar, a hand on his hip. "You certainly seem to be in the know."
no subject
"You may want to learn how to use that," he continued, indicating the journal with the subtlest incline of his head. "I can assure you it will make your time here far easier." Now...to learn just what it was that made this biped and Zidane so similar.

"Useful advice, I'm sure, if I planned on staying in this..." he swept his eyes around the immediate area, his lip curling up in disgust, "charming little garbage dump."

Scar didn't venture immediately to explain what exactly that meant. This man would be perfectly capable of asking the particular things he was interested in.
no subject
"And dare I ask, what exactly this Organization has set up for the final act?" In other words, he wondered just what sort of 'conditions' he would need to adhere to in order to win his freedom.
no subject
Scar didn't particularly care if the man believed him or not, considering how perfectly ludicrous the statement sounded.

"It sounds like you've been in a situation like this before."
no subject
"And you certainly don't seem too bothered by it, do you...?" The looked towards Scar from over his shoulder and paused pointedly, waiting for a name.
no subject
"And your name would be...?"
no subject
And he straightened again, a small smile playing on his lips. "Kuja."
no subject
"Charmed. It might be of interest to you that someone of your same...unique race is also in this city. He goes by the name of...Zidane, I believe."
(ooc: Heather said I was allowed to mention Zidane only if you wait till she's off hiatus next week to make a journal post with him. XD)
ooooh, hard bargain! >]
"Zidane?" Of course, he allowed his surprise to reach his features this time. "Now that certainly is a surprise. So this is where he scampered off to... Tsk."
no subject
Kuja's chiding tone gave Scar some idea of the relationship between him and Zidane. That, and the man's demeanor, which was beginning to remind Scar of his own...when he cared to exercise his ability to control it, at any rate.

Of course, Scar said nothing of what he thought of heroes...which was, it seemed, much the same opinion as Kuja's.
no subject
"Hero has very little meaning in general these days," was his retort, flipping some of his hair over his shoulder in the process. "It seems no one can make it past the auditions. Besides -- " he continued, "if the villians keep themselves scarce, there can't be too much to concern oneself with, anyway..." As he spoke, he watched Scar mainly from the corner of his eye, otherwise looking rather disinterested in the whole process.
no subject
But Scar had been meeting some of them in his time here. That brat Sora, to name one.

Scar was no longer concerned with keeping up his appearance. Kuja seemed to be a kindred spirit of a sort, if nothing else, and while Scar didn't have to reveal anything of significance about himself, he could at least stop pretending that everything here didn't annoy him for a little while.

Kuja was definitely starting to seem more and more like someone who might prove very useful in Scar's future endeavors. For now, of course, Scar would leave any sort of details alone, in favor of testing the waters and making sure he knew just what Kuja was about. But eventually, he would have to test this man, and see just how many "heroes" he'd be able to deal with.
no subject
"However, the need not even be dealt with, as I have the upperhand -- they do not yet know of my arrival." And he tilted his head to the side. "I do hope that can remain... between good company, for now?"
no subject
"After all, no one wants to see all the heroes get all the glory."
no subject
Kuja smiled, though it was more of a smirk. "They do tend to hog the spotlight, don't they?"

Hm...but if he was going to bring this man to City Hall, it would be wise to...test him first. Shadows and Soldiers would be enough, Scar thought, to give some idea of Kuja's worthiness.

Just to keep up appearances, Scar allowed some to attack him as well. Not that Shadows or Soldiers could hold their own against him.

It went reeling... though was not down for the count. The genome ran a quick hand through his hair, and glanced at the lion -- noting that he didn't do much to defend himself. Whether it was on purpose or the fact that he wasn't all that strong... was a debate for another day. "Stand back."
no subject
Scar was sure to swipe at a Shadow as it attempted to strike him, though, turning the creature back to shadowy dust.

He grinned, hurling an orb towards the pack, turning quickly to face those in formation behind him, and releasing another one in their direction. The spell did damage, but didn't seem to be a killing blow. Facing forward again, he focused in, already well into another cast.

He jumped back, still remaining in mid-air, as he grinned, weaving his fingers around the next bit of magic -- several spheres of holy energy amassed around him, as he dashed forward into the crowd. The positioned the spheres with a wave of his hand, conducting them as they took position around the group of them. Twirling about, the orbs lifted their prey into the air, hitting them once, twice, and then three times as they began their descent back down.
Kuja had gained altitude as well, a great orb of holy now at his command. He grinned, sending it forward -- his smile widening as it made contact.
Gracefully, he drifted back down to ground level, satisfied that it seemed they all perished before even hitting the ground. He dusted his hands off as he touched down softly. "There. Now that should be all of them."
no subject
Scar again turned on his hind paws and started on his way, this time confident that he was bringing with him an excellent catch.

And with that, he followed the lion again, all the while, musing over the possibilities of this newfound land.
