Kinjirareta Asobi [ Active / Closed ]
Character(s): Kanaria, Xion, and possibly Woody, Roxas, Riku and Sora later. If threads are merged, idk. >:
Content: Kanaria's been out of energy for a few weeks, and the letters are sent out.
Setting: Wherever Xion is currently.
Time: Late week 30, early evening.
Warnings: None.
Kanaria knew from the moment she knew her ring was gone that her time was limited. Like Shinku and Hina-Ichigo before her, she was doomed to sleep when the last remainders of Micchan's energy was used. So she powered down.
For once though, luck was on Kanaria's side. She had been sleeping safely in her box, hidden away from any curious eyes when the last of her energy left her. Silence ensued, and in that time alone, she re-lived all of the memories of her past in her lovely dream-world. The world around her continued without her, but such was not the fate of a beautiful Rozen Maiden. They were destined to wake and fulfill their collective destiny. Thus, whether it was her box, Laplace's Demon, an unknown force, or even Rozen himself..no one would know, but letters were sent to every residence in the city of Paixao, to every citizen.
These letters looked as though they were written on aged paper with a fountain pen and india ink. None were neither addressed, nor had they names on them. Instead, the paper was folded over twice and stamped shut with a wax seal of a stylized rose. When opened, the letter would simply ask..
"Will you turn the key?
Yes, or no."

It was a little weird, just getting a letter like this, but Xion opened it carefully and read. Turn the key? What key?
...The Keyblade?
Somehow, she didn't think that was it, but her curiosity got the better of her. She hunted around for a pen, before tentatively circling the 'yea' on the paper.
Now what?

There was no flash of light, no disturbance of the elements around Xion, nothing signaling the appearance of Kanaria's box. But, lo and behold, it was right behind her now, laying flat on the ground with the same golden rose from the wax seal facing the world. If she so chose, it would be easily opened, and a sleeping Kanaria, curled gently around a golden turn-key, would be seen inside.
There is a hole in Kanaria's back, barely hidden by a petite yellow bow, that would perfectly fit that one turn-key. It would only take a few turns of said key, but whether or not Xion figured out what to do, or whether she would, was another question.

She hesitated at first, thinking maybe someone had left it there, but... she knew it hadn't been there when she'd sat down. She reached down, lifting it into her lap and looking at the rose. There was no key visible then, but the box opened easily.
Inside was... well, she thought it was a doll. She knew vaguely what they were, but had never had one herself. When she spotted the key, that sort of made since with the letter. She picked up it up gingerly, looking at it and trying to figure out what it could go to.
Maybe the doll? She carefully picked up the doll and saw the slot on her back, the same size as the key. She put the key in it, beginning to turn slowly.

But after a few turns of the key, the little doll started to jerk of her own accord as her eyes opened. It sounded as though there were turning cogs as joints started to move and come back to life.

She waited quietly for the doll to restart, before giving her a little smile. Hopefully she'd helped, somehow. "Hello," she said, once she thought the doll might be able to pay attention to her, "Are you alright?"

She blinked a few times--it wasn't Micchan, but this girl seemed to be quite nice. So, she tilted her head up with a proud smile, trying to stand on her own if her legs could reach a sturdy surface. "Congratulations, kashira! You've found a legendary Rozen Maiden!" She was so proud of herself.

But! She recovered quickly. No use in making her feel bad, afterall. "I'm one of only seven dolls made my the master craftsman, Rozen, of course! But..I won't stay awake and talking for long unless you agree to the contract." The news didn't dishearten her much, but she did sound hopeful underneath all of that boastfulness.
"If you want to be friends forever, bound together, you'll have to make the promise of the rose, kashira!"
no subject
The contract part... well, she didn't know what that meant, entirely, but it didn't sound bad. Being friends forever would be good, right?
"Um... alright." Xion nodded, before deciding to clarify a little bit, "What does that mean, exactly?"
o.o Where does Xion live?
"It means you'll be my medium, kashira! I'll use your energy to stay awake, but you'll never notice it unless I have to fight." Kanaria wasn't all bravado--she was actually a very thoughtful and nice doll. Normally, she wouldn't try to push a point like that because she wasn't as bossy as the likes of Suisei Seki, but when it concerned whether or not she got to stay awake and enjoy life, she really needed to sell it.
"I spent a lot of time with Micchan, we did a lot of things together until I came here. She always had new dresses for me to wear, kashira!"
well technically she has a room with the organization, but she goes there as little as possible.
She couldn't just let her go back to sleep.
Xion was quiet for a moment, thinking this over, before nodding. "Alright." It might be nice to have someone else around, too. Hiding her... might be a slight problem, but she could make it work. "My name's Xion."
Cool beans. c:
"Hello, Xion. I'm Kanaria, the second Rozen Maidens!" She grinned and stood up nice and straight with her hands on her hips and her chest puffed out--granted, it wasn't much, since she was the shortest of all the dolls.
"And the smartest doll, kashira!" With a finger to her cheek, she had a coy little smile. "And if you want to be Kana's medium, you only have to promise!" And at that, she held out her little hand, whereupon her middle finger was a dainty ring that Kanaria assumed Xion would realize that she had to kiss.

When the doll held out her hand, Xion was, once again, puzzled. "I... promise?" she said. It seemed there was supposed to be more to it than the words, but she couldn't tell what that might be.
Blagh, updating icons sucks.
There were a couple of blinks and more silence as she gave this girl a little more time to possibly figure it out. To Kanaria, it was pretty obvious what needed to be done, but..well, she remembered that such acts were rarely used these days. This wasn't like the Victorian age she was made in after all, despite the strangely similar style most people had in clothing, so..she figured she shouldn't be so surprised when Xion didn't know what to do. Maybe it was best she explained it..
"W-well..You're supposed to kiss Kanaria's ring, kashira!"
no subject
After thinking a getting a vague idea of what she was doing, Xion leaned down and kissed the ring lightly. That... should do it, right?
no subject
There was a big grin, something between arrogant and delighted as the ring was kissed. As the ring was kissed, light would surround Xion's middle finger and solidify after a few minutes later into a ring that matched Kanaria's.
"Kana's back!~" She stretched her arms over her head with a cheer. "I'm hungry after sleeping so long, kashira! Can we get something to eat?~"
no subject
When she asked about food, though, that distracted Xion enough to smile. "Ok," she said, nodding, "What type of food do you like?"
