See you through the lonely nights (Active/Closed)
Character(s): Yuna, Tidus
Content: It's a talk. Between very good friends.
Setting: Yuna's apartment in Irelia
Time: week 30?, late-afternoonish, after Yuna gets back from being bugged by Hades
Warnings: CAVITIES. IDK
Of all the people Yuna had noticed coming back to Paixao lately, that one had been the last she'd ever wanted to see. Not only was it a horrible reminder of past things - and the fact that her father was gone - but she could honestly say she was afraid of what he might do this time. She wouldn't put it past him for a second kidnapping attempt. If that happened, she wasn't sure what she'd do. A lot of the people who had tried to help her the first time were gone. The city had turned upside down in the time since Hades had left.
Feeling a bit like a sulky child, Yuna headed up the stairs to the apartment, turning the key in the lock and pushing it open. Shutting the door behind her, she glanced around to see if anyone was around. Looked like the living room was free. With a sigh, she flopped down on the couch and settled in to think, propping her legs up across the cushions. She'd gotten complacent, thinking that Paixao wouldn't be so bad. She'd forgotten people could come back after leaving.
Stupid Hades. Maybe it was time she told someone else about that. Neither Rikku nor Tidus knew about it. With a sigh, Yuna rolled over to face the back of the couch. She didn't want to deal with it. Maybe a quick nap would help clear her head.

With that thought as a springboard, it didn't take long for him to sit up and head toward the door, abandoning his own nap to check the living room.
"Yuna?" he said as he entered, not realizing that she was trying to sleep. "Is that you?"
no subject
"Yeah. I'm back."
Her voice was soft, not at all like normal, and she knew he'd pick up on that. What was she supposed to do, though? She didn't know. Maybe she could contact Auron about it. He might know how to deal with this.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?"
no subject
So, she turned to him with caution and tried to figure out how to say what she needed to say.
"Tidus... have you ever heard of someone called Hades?"
no subject
"Nope. Never heard of him." he said. But, obviously, this Hades guy - whoever he was - had done something to upset Yuna. That alone was enough to make Tidus want to know exactly who he was.
no subject
But, well, both had happened, despite her best efforts.
"He calls himself a god and he can control Heartless. He's not someone to be messed with... and I should probably tell Auron. He would want to know."
She's feeling a mess of emotions right now: guilt, worry, fear, longing... She's just glad Tidus is here right now. His presence is helping calm her down considerably.

Which might have been a little bit easier if he knew what Hades looked like, but Tidus hadn't thought that far ahead quite yet.
"Well, I don't care what he says he is. Between me, Auron, and Rikku, you won't have to worry about anything like that happening again." He meant it, too, and the tone of his voice and the look on his face made that obvious. Tidus could tell that she was worried, and that maybe this was more complicated than he was letting himself think - and he wandered about that, somewhere in the back of his mind - but, for the moment, the reassurance that he wouldn't let anything else happen was all that he could think to give. After all they had been though, he knew that they all could handle whatever or whoever this place threw at them.

"A lot of people helped me escape. I should have thanked them more, but now it's been so long... so many of them have come and gone since then." She let her gaze fall back to her lap. Now she was just worried about the same thing happening again.
"If Hades finds out you're close to me, he might use you as bait to hurt me... or the other way around."
Either way, it would probably work and she was worried about it. She didn't want to lose Tidus again.

He just had to make sure Yuna knew that.
"If he tries, I won't let him. We'll be okay. Trust me." And he absolutely believed that. If something happened, they would be alright, one way or another.
He wasn't going anywhere. Not a chance.

"I know... I believe you," she whispered into his ear as she held on. "And... thank you... for being my guardian for so long."
For guarding her, for being the person she loved, for always being there for her, for supporting her when she thought she'd fall. The list went on forever and she knew she'd never be able to show or tell him how much she appreciated everything he'd done for her.

Suddenly, he realized that he hadn't wished that he was back in Zanarkand for a very long time. Not since long before he showed up in Paixao. As much as he loved his home, he had something more important to do.
"I'll keep being your guardian, Yuna." he replied. "For as long as you'll let me."
no subject
"You can be my guardian for always."
She pulled back to smile into his eyes, just glad she had him with her. Even with Hades here, even with everything else... Tidus was here with her. And that was what mattered the most.
"I'm so... grateful that you're back, you know? I missed you."
