We're what? [Completed]
Character(s): Luke and Guy
Content: Guy drags moping Luke to go scout for unusual/mythical animals, whut.
Setting: First at their apartment, then uh.. yes.
Time: Afternoon...?
Warnings: lol none
Luke just wasn't sure what to do with himself now. He'd searched and searched for Tear, but in the end he had to face the facts and give up. She was gone, just like the others, but this time the loss weighed far heavier on him. He was going to see her again, that he was certain of, but still... Part of him wished he'd told her. Told her what he felt for her, but then again, maybe it had been better to have still kept quiet.
At least she was safe now. At least, he sure hoped that was the case...
After a long, rather pointless walk, Luke headed back to the apartment.

After a long, rather pointless walk, Luke headed back to the apartment.

As he was leaving the apartment, he was in good spirits, ready to go out and get some exercise -- collecting information for the boss. While Auldrant had creatures that probably were out of the ordinary for most -- he was curious himself to see what sort of population lived in Paixao.
Just as he pulled on the door to exit the building, he looked up -- "Luke!"
no subject
He jerked up his head at hearing his name.
"Guy! Uh, hey!"
Coming to a stop at the buildings doorway, Luke gave his friend a cheerful smile. Or, well, he attempted to anyways. "What's up?"
no subject
Coming to a halt, he looked the redhead over, and paused. "Haven't seen you in a few days, are you keeping yourself busy too? This place sure isn't what I originally expected..."
no subject
He really did need to find something to do though. That would probably be trying to find out how to leave again. How to get back to Auldrant...
"Yeah, it's really nothing like anywhere on Auldrant, is it?" They'd seen a lot of places in their travels across their world, but no where had been quite like this place.

"You said it. Even the guy that hired me -- he's some kind of weird spider-lizard or something. A monster I've never seen before! He's really smart though too, somehow he built a whole laboratory underground on his own." Guy, of course, was blisfully unaware that Yzma was in fact, a female -- whatever she was.
"Hey. Maybe you'd like to come with me. What are you up to? Feel like going on a scouting mission?"
no subject
"A scouting mission? Scouting for what?" Luke asked, wondering what there was here to even scout for. Whatever it was, Luke likely would say yes at this point. Anything was better than just hanging around the apartment.

Following along beside Guy, Luke listened, faintly amused how excited Guy was. It wasn't any surprise, of course. "I didn't know there was anything underground..."
Again, not exactly surprising though. This place was so strangely built. It made sense, somehow, that there'd be stuff below as well as above.

He paused for a moment of awkward silence, then cleared his throat. "I mean. You know... Not really replicas or anything like that, I... uh..." unconsciously, he brought up a hand to the back of his neck, rubbing there for a moment as he thought of how to dig himself out of this hole.

Of course, that word did catch Luke's attention. There probably would never come a time that it wouldn't grab his attention, but he didn't seem to be as bothered by it as Guy seemed to think he would be. And he trusted that Guy would never allow any actual fomicry to take place.
"Geez, I hope not," Luke responded, with an awkward laugh. "That's the last thing this place needs."
His smile turned a little more sober, as he clasped his friend's shoulder for a moment. He kept forgetting Guy didn't know about, well, everything. It had to be pretty confusing for him. Luke knew he would be.
"It's fine, Guy."
no subject
Guy appreciated the small gesture of reassurance and flashed a small grin in the red head's direction. "Sorry, Luke," he apologized, "guess I should be more careful when I open up my big mouth."
The swordsman continued forward, having to remind himself that Luke was from an entirely different period of time than he was. "So how are your skills with a sword these days, Luke? I bet you're getting a lot better!" once more, he attempted to switch the topic of conversation, if only to lighten the mood.
no subject
He couldn't help but grin. "Well, I've learned a thing or two," he said, hand resting for a moment on the hilt of his sword - the key of Lorelei. That was likely to take some explaining, along with a lot of other things. He had certainly made a lot of progress - he'd beaten Asch and even fought Van. Yet another surprise for Guy.
no subject
He cast a knowing glace over to Luke, and nodded forward, trying to tell the redhead to circle around while he took to the front. They'd probably have to tire it out first. Guy had luckily come equipped with a burlap sack and some rope for the purpose of bringing it back with the least amount of force exterted as they could manage...
no subject
Casting a glance to Guy, he caught his friend looking at him and quickly caught on to what he was asking Luke to do. Giving a nod, Luke quietly took off to find a way around that wouldn't catch the creature's attention. Soon enough, Luke could be seen the other side, waiting and ready for Guy to give a signal.

His movements must have startled the blindingly white creature (that was about the size of a house cat) as its ears perked back and it stood at attention. Realizing that it was now or never, lest they lose their target, Guy shouted a "Now!" as he jumped out of the shrubbery.
As he landed, he quickly took note that the lumen was no slowpoke! He had managed to get the sack over the thing's head, but missed capturing it completely. He rose to his feet, hoping that Luke could somehow get a grip on it before it was too late!
no subject
Unfortunately, it didn't go to plan. (Not that they'd had much of a plan to begin with.) Luke had reached down to attempt to grab it as it bolted his way, but the creature had easily slipped past his fingers, dashing between his legs.
"H-hey!"
no subject
"Beast!" was the best idea he could come up with, the attack surging forward that extra few inches he needed, as it contacted with the creature sending it reeling to the ground. Finally, a break!
no subject
"Gotcha!"

Sheathing his sword again, he walked over to his friend and leaned down, taking hold of the bag from the opening. "Thanks Luke! I'll take it from here."
no subject
Once Guy had a hold on the sack, Luke gladly released it. "It's all yours," he replied, with a grin. He was already happy to be done with it. "...You don't need more, do you?"
no subject
no subject
"Heh, sure!"
no subject
"Well..." he looked at the sack again. "I better get this over to Yzma. I'll see you back at the apartment, Luke!" and with that, he turned, and waved, heading for the direction of the mansion.
