Just a Story [Completed]

Character(s): Kovu and Jenny
Content: Jenny comes to the park to help Kovu learn how to use his journal.
Setting: Jogo da Crianca
Time: Morning, very early in week 26 (before the fog is around)
Warnings: All standard Kovu warnings apply.

It only took a few seconds for Kovu to realize he hadn't even introduced himself to that girl he was talking to using that box...thing. He didn't know what her name was, either. He sighed, because that only made it all the more evident that he still wasn't used to being...well...normal. Like everyone else was. He had to wonder how Kiara kept up...but then, she must have been acting that way her whole life. It must not take her any effort, he thought.

If someone asked him now, he would probably say that he was jealous of her. The only thing she'd ever really had to deal with was her overbearing father...and things that Kovu had been part of. She knew how to have fun, and play, and...all those things that Kovu had never learned at all. At least...not until he met her.

He wondered what meeting this new girl was going to be like. He...still hadn't really met many others, and the prospect of someone he didn't know coming here wasn't a very soothing one. Especially when she wanted to hear his whole story.

Right now, he was just sitting under a tree in the park, in the same area he'd been when Simba and Kiara had been talking a few weeks before, a little while before they'd all gone hunting. His tail flicked behind him as the morning..."sun"...rose above the buildings.

As Jenny had mentioned, it took her quite awhile to make her way over to the park, even after making use of the train, and having run the rest of the way, and before she knew it, a few hours had gone by. Running into the park, she could only hope that her acquaintance had not decided to just leave before her arrival, but to be fair, she had told him that it would take a bit to get to the set meeting place.

Now that she was in the park, she merely had to find him. He had said that he shouldn't be too hard to spot, and he had been right. She could see the large fuzzy creature under the tree in the distance. Which, now that she thought of it, they never had introduced themselves properly, had they? Still, she couldn't just go calling him by strange nicknames until intros were made. It seemed introductions would have to come first, or second depending on how the conversation went.

Jogging up to the animal, she waved and smiled brightly. "Hello there. I suppose you've been waiting for me?"

"Well, I did mention that I was on another side of the city, besides, I had a few things to take care of first, but it's still a pleasure to meet you all the same, Kovu. I'm Jenny. Sorry that I didn't get around to introducing myself sooner." Her smile didn't falter as she spoke, but then again, when had it ever. She had always enjoyed meeting new people, or perhaps she should say animals in this case, but then again, people were animals too, right?

"Is that so wrong? Helping you out, I mean?" She asked curiously. She had never really had anyone ask her about it, but when she did think about it, she found that she just enjoyed helping people out. Well, atleast it always gave her something to do around this place. Not to mention, the people she helped were often very interesting.

"Selfish how?" She questioned him, pushing for more information.

"It's awfully silly to be selfish in that kind predicament. When there isn't much food, the best plan is to pull together. Better chance of catching and pulling together what food is around. Then the important thing after that is to ration and share what you have to survive. It might not be much, but it's better then everyone starving." She told him, going into her own little explanation, though what she was saying may not be how lions did things. They were how they had done things on Messa however. Not much food was available on a planet with radiation.

"Either way, you're right, that is quite selfish." She agreed after finishing her little rant.

"I'm sure you'll learn as time goes on." She told him after his first statement, and then listened to the rest of what he was saying, bringing up an instant question to her mind.

"Why aren't you allowed to go there?"

Jenny thought this over for a few seconds, mulling over what she should ask next. She had so many questions, the hard part was just choosing which one to ask next, and which ones to hold off on for now.

"Well, that certainly is a predicament, but I get the feeling, based off what you're describing, that you don't really think the way the rest of your pride does. Am I wrong to think that?"

Hearing Kovu's words, Jenny couldn't help but smile. "Sounds like you're taking a good route then."

[identity profile] lovestherunning.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
"You're quite welcome, though you know, it probably wouldn't hurt to face your Pride eventually. You know, try to get them to open their eyes." It was more of an out loud thought to her, but thinking about it further, she was sure it wouldn't hurt for Kovu to hear it.

"So perhaps I'm crazy. But nothing changes if the problem isn't faced. You've managed to be different from them, but why not take it a step further and try to make them see things as you do? You know, try to make things better for the future."

"It's no doubt a bit different since I'm a little harder to kill, but the man leading the soldiers on Messa, the world I was born on, he killed me in a way, would I stood between him an my dad. I would never change what I did though. It helped change a lot for the better." She wasn't going to go into detail about everything unless he asked, including the whole, didn't really die thing.

"Now, I'm not telling you to go and die or anything, but standing up against others can do a lot in the long run. Really, you won't know until you try."

"And what is it exactly that she would say? If you don't mind me asking." Jenny wasn't going to nose too much into this one, but she didn't find any harm in asking.

"But that's not what you think, right? So why let what she says bother you?"
