Seeking Shelter Under the Front of Actua Are, Joutenheim Branch [Completed]
Character(s): Ise Nanao, Flonne, Orha, Rabi, Calintz, anyone else who may jump in
Content: A shinigami arrives at the Actua Are hotel in the Joutenheim area, and realizes that she is carrying no money - not that she ever needed it before.
Setting: Front of the Actua Are Hotel, Joutenheim Branch
Time: Thursday, a little past noon
Warnings: None yet.
The moment she arrived, she realized that perhaps her plan of action might not have been the best one. When the rain began to fall, her first thought was to seek shelter - preferably someplace warm, where she could also have a bite of something hot to eat. When she had been looking through the map on the gadget that had been given to her upon her entry into this city, she saw that there was a hotel not that far away. Her logic told her that it was all a matter of getting there, and so she headed off, walking briskly to keep the cold from sinking into her bones.
However, the moment she stepped under the awning that hung over the entrance of the hotel, she suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to factor in something extremely crucial: money. She had absolutely none of it on her at the moment, and she knew that she would need at least some of it in order to get by.
"Very clever of you, Nanao," she murmured to herself under her breath as she stood to one side, still shaded by the awning, and watched as the rain ran off in little waterfalls. For a brief moment she was reminded of the way rainwater slid off the shingle roofs of the houses in the Seireitei, but she shook her head to clear it of the memory. This was no time to be homesick. She had to find a problem to her solution as soon as possible.
In the meantime, though, she was tired, and already a little hungry. She could do without food for the meantime, but she needed to rest, and to pull herself together. She took out the little electronic gadget - noting with satisfaction that it had stayed dry after she had tucked it away in the folds of her gi - and accessed the network, fiddling around with it to see if it could provide her with a means towards acquiring a solution to her current predicament.

rainrainrainrainrain... rainrainrain.
For a girl in a thin white blouse, such as Flonne, rain was a very serious threat.
The "young" angel dashed and searched with all her speed and will for cover, anything. She even flapped her little wings like oars in hopes that they might provide even a little extra speed. Finding shelter underneath the small awning of a hotel, Flonne shrunk to her knees panting and gasping for lack of breath.
she sat for a minute like this, slowly refilling her stamina like a balloon with each breath. Eventually, she looked up, finding a darkly dressed stern looking business woman towering over her crouched frame.
Flonne giggled a little over her awkward predicament and smiled up at her partner in hiding from the weather.
"Hello"

This girl was like nothing and no one she had seen in Paixao thus far. For a brief moment she wondered if this was one of Kurotsuchi Mayuri's more "successful" projects, but then she decided that could not be the case. After all, Mayuri's experiments rarely ended up like something this lively - if they were even alive at all. And besides, the captain of the Twelfth Division was nowher in sight - or at least, as far as she knew.
"Hello," she responded somewhat awkwardly as she closed her electronic journal and slid it into her gi. "Are you looking for shelter from the rain too?"

Now standing next to the woman, Flonne had a better chance to examine her, she seemed foreboding and slightly frightening but very impressive, wrapped in that depressing black robe and, on her hip was that a- sword! In most of the experiences Flonne has ever had with people bearing swords, they've always been carrying them with intent to kill or maim someone to the point that stealing from them is exceedinly simple, whichever happens easiest.
Now, when presented with a situation like this, it would be wise to use your powers of assesment and tact negotiation to avoid insulting or otherwise angering the sword wearer.
Flonne, however, possesing neither of these qualities, did what she does best, rave about something.
"You- You're dressed so cool! I bet you've got a battlecry and super-secret attack and everything!"
Flonne had most definately been watching too much Prism Rangers.

She decided to ignore the girl's outburst, and instead introduced herself. "My name is Ise Nanao. And if I might ask...what is your name?"
Well, this was certainly awkward.

Slowly walking down the stairs, Orha kept his eyes on the unfamiliar surroundings. Last night, he was too tired and angry to talk to anyone, so there was no information being exchanged. He shrugged at the idea of the pink device he was given upon his entrance to “Paixao”, but it wouldn’t matter to him anymore, because it is Death Raven’s device now.
Orha approached the receptionist at the counter and asked her about the closest place that sells clothes. The receptionist pointed towards the dot that is located on the center of Paixao. Orha nodded and proceeded to ask her how long will it take to travel by walking. The receptionist shook her head and said it shall take a day and a half at least. Although the idea of walking a day and a half towards the center of Paixao is not too interesting to Orha, he still decided to head out of the hotel and look around in areas nearby.
He walked outside of the hotel and saw the light filtering through the clouds and trees. It was a beautiful sight. By now, it seems to be apparent to Orha that this place couldn’t have been Efferia, as Efferia does not have grass this green. And due to the wars going on between humans and Yasons, it turned into a world of devastation, even though it is on the process of restoration right now.
N hours later---
It was futile and useless. Orha couldn’t find anything suitable for Death Raven at all. Although he wasn’t defeated by the fatigue that is slowly setting in, it is time that he should head back to the hotel. After all, it wouldn’t be too wise to leave Death Raven on her own, along with Calintz and Agreian arguing to each other again. He looked up towards what used to be a sky with a nice weather, and he knew he must definitely head back. “Rain…” he mumbled to himself and he started running towards the direction of Actua Are.
When he got under the hung over shelter of Actua Are, he was soaking wet. It didn’t matter to him all that much anyway, getting a rain shower always makes him feel refreshed. He stood outside of the building making sure that he isn’t a walking sponge when he heard 2 female voices having a conversation. He looked towards their direction and saw the one with glasses holding on to her device and checking to make sure it wasn’t damaged by the rain. Orha felt the world of Paixao is being unfair to him, even this girl over there could have a black device, why can’t he? He regretted silently to himself for not bringing the pink device with him, so it could be “accidentally” damaged by the rain.
While all these thoughts were passing through his head, another thought seeped into his mind. He started walking towards the two female figures, “Excuse me,” he pondered a bit before letting out the remaining portion of his sentence, “will you guys happen to have a spare set of clothes?”
The atmosphere around Orha and the two females frozed.

Well, at least he didn't look as unusual as the little girl that she had been speaking to.
For some odd reason, though, that only put her more on her guard.
"I am sad to say that I have no other clothes," she replied, "though I do wonder why you would ask a woman that question." Here she gave him a brief once-over, reminding this gentleman that he was, in fact, a gentleman.

Well, she was in no place to judge. After all, this was a very strange place, and she really had no right to go judging people about their choice of clothing.
"He got caught in the rain," she replied, turning her head slightly towards the newcomer. "Are you looking for something?"

Deciding to take a gamble, she asked: "Have you seen anyone else who is wearing the same clothes as I? There is the chance that they might also be wearing a white robe over it with a symbol on the back: a number ranging anywhere from one to thirteen." She highly doubted that Commander Yamamoto would be here, but it was worth a shot. If she could find any of the captains - or any other shinigami, for that matter - it would help her out a lot.

Well, there was nothing she could do about that.
"I...see." His response answered another question of hers, however: Aizen and his cohorts weren't likely here. That gave her some measure of relief.
She nodded her thanks to him, bowing gratefully. "Thank you very much for your time, sir." She tilted her head then. "Might I ask who it is exactly that you are looking for?"

She sighed, and shook her head. Being this world was making her make one too many lapses in judgement for her own comfort...

He watched as the red head stranger laughed nervously throughout his conversation with the girl. Orha realized that other than him, Calintz, Agreian and the girl in front of him, there seems to be more people getting transported to Paixao. “What exactly is the meaning of this?” He pondered the thoughts to himself. “It appears the transportation is random…yet…people in the same world that are connected seems to be here as well…” He shook his head and baffled with the idea, while the stranger was describing to the girl with glasses the details of his missing friend. When the stranger had finished talking, Orha nodded lightly to him, and that, he will keep and eye out for his friend as well.

The Captain nodded at her slightly in acknowledgement before turning back to Orha again, eyebrow raised. "Friend of yours?"

She glanced at the newcomer. "And you, sir?"

He nodded to her in agreement and said, "Nanao, can you come with me? There is something I need help with."

Nevertheless, she saw nothing wrong with helping him, so long as he did not stick a sharp object in her or unleash some spell on her - though that didn't really matter. She had Sennyo no Hisuidake with her, and that was enough.
She nodded as she walked up to him, prying herself away from the wall to move towards him. "Very well then, I shall help you in any way that I can."
It was always good to have allies - even if they were rather unusual folk.

The Captain shrugged lightly as he turned to go, lips quirked in mild amusement, "good luck with Death Raven."

When he got into the entrance hall of the hotel, he paused and he faced Nanao again, "I don't know how to explain this... Here, the card key." He held out the card key and extended it towards Nanao. "I would really appreciate your help...if you could..." and he looked away, "I will be waiting here." Orha had a tiny tint of pink showing up on his face, and he was glad that he wasn't facing Nanao's direction. "Neither Calintz nor I can do it, only you."
no subject
She crossed her arms and looked at Orha. "What is it exactly that you want me to do, that you say only I can do it?"
no subject
He pointed at Nanao's clothes, "Death Raven needs some of that and... I... ." Orha shook his head disapprovingly at himself and sighed again.

"Well, unfortunately I cannot give her any clothes, since what I am wearing is all I have," she replied, and then softened her tone slightly. "I can, however, make do with the sheets off the bed. I cannot sew them together, but I think I can construct something...passable out of them, and she can wear them until you can purchase clothes for her. Is that satisfactory?"

She saw a woman there - completely naked.
"Excuse me, you are Death Raven, yes?" She bowed in greeting. "Your friend, Orha-san, asked me to help you. I cannot give you clothes, but I can try to cover you up as best as I can."
So saying, she turned towards one of the beds, and pulled off the bedsheet. It was made of a fairly sturdy material; it would hold.
She turned around, and waited for the young woman to stand up so she could get to the business of clothing her - if that was what one could call it.

"Your friend, Orha-san, asked me to help you."
Death Raven's face changed from confusion to joy upon hearing her master's name. She saw the dextrous woman walking towards the other bed and took away the bedsheet with one swift pull. Death Raven went into confusion again, she couldn't understand what is this stranger could do with a bed sheet, but she smiled at the stranger and stood up anyway.
Though Death Raven felt a bit uncomfortable having another woman touching her, it couldn't be worse than having to walk around naked in the world of Paixao. "Hi!" Dark Raven used her cheerful voice to initiate the conversation, "You are..." Death Raven closed her eyes as if she is searching for something inside her head, "Na...nao, right?"

She moved closer, holding the sheet out as she approached. "Now then, let's see what we can do with this..." As she spoke, she started moving around Death Raven, wrapping the fabric around her, tucking and tying the ends so that they were secure and would not fall out even if Death Raven moved around a lot.
She stepped back to look over her handiwork, and then smiled satisfactorily. "Well then, I think that should do it. Is it comfortable enough, or are some places that are too tight?"

As Death Raven danced around the room some more enjoying herself, she missed the leg of of a chair and she fell flat on her face. "Owww..." She rubbed her cheeks up and down, and it reminded her that Nanao was still in the room. Death Raven realized she was too happy that she forgot about introducing herself properly to Nanao, so she stood up and held out her hand to the lady in glasses. "My name is Death Raven, Orha's Familiar, nice to meet you, Nanao~"

Somehow, with home so far away, it was comforting to know that there was at least someone here who reminded her of home.
She shook the feeling of homesickness off, and decided to at least pat Death Raven on the back. "I am glad you like it." She glanced sidelong at the door. "You may come in now, Orha-san."

"Masterrrr---!" Death Raven exclaimed with joy upon seeing her host. "Where have you been? What were you doing? How come you're soaking we------" She bombarded Orha with a lot of questions that he started to have a headache.
He motioned Death Raven to calm down and took a good look at her clothes. It was very well done, Orha was relieved that he no longer need to see Death Raven naked. "Thank you, Nanao," he nodded at her.
"I can feel that master is happy~" Death Raven teased and Orha shot her a glare telling her to stop telling others how he feels. She lowered her head apologetically, "Sorry." Then she took a great leap towards her master, "See, see, see? Isn't this great? Nanao has wonderful skills!" and she returned to her usual self again. As soon as Orha nodded and gave her an approval okay, she turned towards Nanao, "Nanao, what are you going to do now? Since you've helped me a loooot, why don't you stay with us? I am sure Calintz won't mind sharing a room with master--" She eyed Orha and anticipates his reaction.
"Fine by me, Agreian is gone," Orha replied simply, "Calintz just need to replace his card key."
Death Raven nodded furiously, trying to get Nanao to stay with them. "Please?"
no subject
She was startled back to reality by the question that Death Raven threw in her direction - even more by the idea that Orha seemed to think that the idea was all right. For a moment, she considered refusing, but then started to weigh her options: she had no place to go, no one she could rely on, and no money to get her anywhere she may have needed to go.
She had no choice: she would have to accept - at least, until she managed to get some money of her own.
She gave Death Raven a small smile. "I suppose that if Calintz-san sees nothing wrong with it, then I could stay." She bowed deeply. "Thank you very much for the offer."

Orha, who was watching from another corner of the room shruddered upon taking a glimpse of the "ungodly" device in an "ungodly" color. "Now that Death Raven got someone else to talk to, it shouldn't be a bad thing," he thought to himself. He shook his head and smiled to himself.
Death Raven turned around to Orha, "Ah! I can sense that master is glad that I have company." She covered her mouth and giggled.
Orha rubbed his temple and sighed at Death Raven's "sensitivity", "Maybe not......"

For instance, she found out that people could readily access other people's journals - so long as they knew where to look, or were capable of stumbling upon them by accident. She also learned that there was a "message board," where people could post a variety of messages ranging from something as mundane as a list of names of people whom one was looking for, to something as important as indicating that one was interested in looking for a job. In addition to these features, there was also another one that involved "chatting" to people - though how that could be accomplished on this device was beyond her, since when she thought of chatting, it usually involved talking to people face-to-face.
But in the meantime, she would inspect these features on her own. Also, it was about time that she wrote in another report. Excusing herself from Death Raven and from Orha, she left the room, and looked for a relatively more quiet nook in which to sit down and type in her report. The stairwell looked quite promising...
