Tinkering around [active, open]
Character(s): Cid and whoever happens by
Content: Building things! Outside the gates!
Setting: En route to the Niflheim gate and beyond
Time: Early afternoon
Warnings: Cid. :|
It had taken a lot of work, but Cid was finally just about ready to start serious work on getting something actually up into the air. Sure, he still had absolutely no damned idea what to fuel the thing with, but he could deal with that later. For now it was high time he got the hell out of his shop for a change, and so, after closing his shop up somewhat earlier than normal (the advantage of setting your own hours) he headed out to the streets.
Of course, he had to bring his work with him, and it probably looking more than a little odd to see a man pulling a medium-sized cart behind him with something lumpy covered by tarp but it wasn't like the place was damned strange to begin with. That and he wasn't breaking any rules as far as he was aware so people could just go bitch at he didn't even care who if they had problems.
He had places to go and things to do.

Fat chance of that happening, though, so Demyx was being his slacker self and avoiding work entirely.
He was doing this by exploring Paixao a bit more. It was kind of impressive, how huge it was... but then he spotted someone. Who looked... kind of, vaguely familiar? Maybe? Demyx didn't know why, sure, but still. Besides, the guy kind of stood out.
He debated for a moment, before deciding to walk over. "Hi!" he said cheerfully to Cid, "What're you doing?"
Not the most intelligent question ever, but Demyx wasn't one for smart questions.

"What's it look like I'm doing?" Cid snapped back.
Okay, so it might have slipped his mind that what he was doing wasn't immediately obvious on sight alone. But perhaps he could be excused for that much.

"The place is to damned small to build in."
no subject
"Oh! You're making something? That's awesome!" Demyx walked over, trying to guess what it could be even with the cover on. He did not do a very good job, mostly because he wasn't coming up with much of anything. "What is it?"
no subject
Not that it had stopped the questions any, but hell, he was figuring that was just because of the kid being a few sticks short of a bundle.
"It ain't anything right now."

Go on Cid, tell him. It's not like he's an Organization member in street clothes or anything...no subject
And possibly a few more hands and something to actually do with it. The problem with proper airships was they needed space, and lots of it. And that seemed to be unfortunately limited out here.

Then he realized that he still didn't know this guy's name. It was probably weird to keep talking without knowing that, huh? "I'm, uh, David, by the way. Who're you?"
no subject
"It ain't all engine. And the name's Cid."

Clearly, he'd never had the misfortune to meet someone like Demyx before.
"Too damned long, if you ask me."
oh my god i'm so sorry this got buried in my inbox DDDX
"That's, um..." Demyx rubbed his head, "longer than I have? I mean, you didn't really say how long but I just got here so it's not too long yet?"

As far as he was concerned, Vincent was welcome to it.

"Mostly we just call it the planet."
no subject
"The planet?" he asked, "That's, um... kind of vague. But that's ok, I guess!"
no subject
"It's a name, isn't it?"
