Frying Pan, Stage Left [Complete/Closed]
Character(s): Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
Content: Flynn's return to Paixao and Rapunzel's oh so amusing reaction.
Setting: Actua Are
Time: Backdated to week 27
Warnings: Frying pans.
Rapunzel had managed to doze off for a while. After leaving Flynn to rest in his room, the girl had gone through the door to her own room and laid down. She figured that when Flynn woke he'd come to her door and knock, rousing her from sleep. But the knock never came, and Rapunzel blinked her eyes open some time later, looking around at her room. Once she remembered where she was and what was going on, she sat up with a start.
"I fell asleep. I hope he wasn't waiting for me!" Gathering her hair and and scampering from the room, Rapunzel looked around the hall and didn't see Flynn anywhere around. "I should check his room." So she knocked on the door, waited, and when no response came she placed a hand on the doorknob and turned it, clicking the door open and stepping inside.
"Eugene, are you here?"

"Eugene, are you here?"

"Now Rapunzel, I swear this isn't what it looks like." He put his arms up defensively, but with one leg hanging over the windowsill he got the distinct feeling that statement wasn't going to convince her.

"Then what is it?" she asked, stalking forward and without pausing, swiping the frying pan off of Flynn's nightstand. When she got to the window, she raised it over her shoulder.
"Start. Explaining!" she said, swinging at him with the cookware. Good luck dodging, Rider.

Nudging the door open, she stuffed him inside and kicked the door closed before he could fall on top of her. Hearing him thump against the door, she gave a satisfied smirk, grabbed her frying pan, and parked herself in front of the door, holding it shut with her body.
It was an odd punishment, but in her eyes, an effective one.

"Rapunzel?"

"I'm right here," she called back, pressing her back more firmly against the door. "Outside the closet." She waited a beat, and then tapped the back of her head against the plank of wood that divided the two of them.
"You better have a good story for why you were climbing out the window. That's the only way I'm letting you out of there."
no subject
...This was going to be kind of difficult.
no subject
"And I'm waiting."
no subject
"I'll explain about it as soon as I think of something that actually makes sense. The important thing is that now I'm here, and I'm not outside the window, and I promise I wasn't sneaking out."
no subject
She got up from the floor, and opened the door slowly. "Since you're promising and all."

He took a careful survey of his hotel room again, and was glad to see that nothing (save the frying pan that was now in Rapunzel's hand instead) was out of place. "So, I told you I would take you exploring."
no subject
"You did. Are you still up for it?"
no subject

There, now he definitely couldn't run away. "Let's go then."

Flynn let her lead him out of the hotel, where again his attention was quickly grabbed by thousands of shiny and expensive things scattered everywhere across his field of vision. Right, back to earth. Or...wherever this place was. "So Blondie, where do you wanna go first? Should we get something to eat, explore the town, find some kids to braid your hair again?"
no subject
She was pretty intent on finding a place where she could get some books.

"Should I just pick a direction for us and we go?"

Then she turned in a random direction, and started to walk down a slightly less crowded lane. "All right. Let's go this way." This way they wouldn't have to dodge and weave so often.

Eventually, they found a pretty wide open area, and there were a bunch of weird structures there too, with a bunch of kids playing on them. The swings were easy enough to identify, the rest of it looked really funny. "How does this look for a place to stop for now? We'll find our way back later."
no subject
Don't worry, she'll be back in a minute.

"Want to join in?" She motioned to the kids, who were taking the ends of her hair and using it for a jump rope.

Walking over to the quieter part of the park, Rapunzel placed herself in an empty swing and curled her hands around the chains, waiting for Flynn to take the one beside her. She bent her knees to swing back and forth just a bit, green eyes gazing up to the sky now that she was sitting down. "I love sunsets."

She leaned back on the swing, and then righted herself so she didn't fall backwards. "No matter how many you see though, they're always beautiful."
no subject
"Yeah...yeah they are." He cocked his head to the side and grinned, making it abundantly clear that he was more interested in watching them with her than by himself.
no subject
Rapunzel was observant enough to catch that grin, which caused a faint blush to form across her cheeks. Honestly, she felt exactly the same way. Sitting with him and watching this unfamiliar sky... was far better than sitting alone in her tower and watching the same scene over and over.
Even as the sun sunk out of sight, the brightness in her eyes didn't fade.
