To See You In Heaven (Active/Closed)

Character(s): Yuna, Rikku, Tidus
Content: A former summoner meets up with her cousin and boyfriend
Setting: Iriela Apartments, close to Yuna's apartment
Time: Week 28, once she's back from Spira. Probably mid-morning?
Warnings: Call the hospital, there's wibbles and cavities in here

So much had happened recently for Yuna. Her trip to Spira had taken longer than she'd expected and she'd come across much more than she'd ever thought she would. A lot had happened in Spira. She'd seen a lot there, many of it her memories, both far distant and recent all the same, and she'd remembered much more than she'd wanted to. So much was different. So much had never changed. But there was a lot she couldn't talk about yet, a lot that had to be kept inside. Yuna didn't know who she could tell about it, but for now she held it all inside.

Once she'd said her farewells to Auron and Jecht, she'd hurried home. She needed to find out where Rikku and Tidus were staying now. She thought about whistling, but she wasn't sure he'd be able to hear her. She thought about opening her journal, but decided to do that once she'd gotten home. Right now, she needed to gather herself.

Yuna jogged the whole way, stopping just outside the complex to whistle sharply. She wasn't expecting a response at all, but she had to try.

Tidus, for his part, was inside doing...nothing. Next to nothing, anyway. The window was partially open, and he was too busy...well, okay, he wasn't too busy with anything, but he liked leaving it open more, anyway. So he didn't bother closing it.

Besides, then he would be able to hear if someone came home, right? Of course, in all honesty, the someone he was looking for was a certain very specific someone, and Tidus had no real idea when to expect her home. It had to be soon, though, right?

Which was why, instead of exploring the town more and keeping himself busy, he was sitting at home, quite honestly bored out of his mind. Still, he was too nervous to leave.

It was stupid, he thought. He didn't know when she would be home. He couldn't just sit and wait at home for days.

Except he could. He already had. What's more, he had no intention of budging.

Which is why, when there was a sharp whistle outside the complex, someone was there to look up, drop the book that they had lazily pulled out of the shelf in the living room, and rush over to the window. He spotted her right away, and...well, she was definitely different. Even from a distance, it was hard to miss the fact that she looked...well, not older (even though she was, he knew), but...he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

It wasn't just the new outfit, either. That he could spot, identify, and...yeah, okay, he was staring. Just a little. His mind, however, was more preoccupied with other things, so it wasn't long before he remembered what he was going to say.

"Hey, Yuna!" he called, smiling brightly. "Wait for me down there!" In a second he was gone from the window, already running to the front door.

Rikku was already downstairs, waiting for somebody else entirely. There wasn't a lot to do in the apartment, anyway, and she was starting to get antsy. At some point, she did want to go and check out Cid's attempt at an airship, but it wasn't a super high priority. Teaching a candlestick how to use machina wasn't something she'd ever had on her list before, but it would give her something to do in the meantime.

She was about done outlining the lesson in her head when she heard a whistle. Curious, she turned her head to the door. What was that? It sounded... Pocketing her journal, she jogged to the front door. And there, on the other side of the plate glass, was Yuna.

With a delighted gasp, she burst through the door. "Yunie! You're back!" she exclaimed, running full-tilt toward her cousin. That girl was getting bear-hugged whether she liked it or not!

Thankfully, this wasn't the first time Tidus had made a trip through the apartment building. Directions were easy for him to remember - growing up having to learn his way around Zanarkand had taught him that skill, and he'd gotten plenty of extra practice in Spira. So getting to the front door, even in a rush, wasn't that hard.

He just wished that it was closer.

When he did finally get there, he rushed out with enough enthusiasm to rival Rikku's...who, he could see, had already beat him outside.

"Yuna!" he yelled, not stopping as he rushed over to both of them. He stopped when he got close...and stood there, looking first and Rikku, then at Yuna. He just smiled - really, what else could he do? Tidus was happy - happy that they were all there, and safe.

In the end, everything had turned out okay. He didn't care about being stuck in Paixao - whatever was going on, they could handle it.

"Finally! I was getting worried." he said. In be completely honest, he had been worried already. He had just been getting more worried.

"Yeah, no kidding," Rikku agreed with him, finally releasing her cousin. It had been a long few days just sitting around and worrying, both of them activities that weren't her style to begin with.

"You are doing okay, right?" she added, giving Yuna a quick visual once-over just in case. She looked fine... Way different, honestly, but she'd let that go until all the hellos and hugs and hearts were out of the way.

okay, I suck.

A hug. The last time he had tried to hug Yuna, Tidus had been disappearing, no longer even solid. So he couldn't help but feel almost relieved when she flung her arms around him, and there wasn't the slightest bit of hesitation before he returned the hug. He had never expected this to happen, but now...

It was just one last reminder that he was really here. That he was here, and so was Yuna.

"Yeah. I'm here." he said, not moving an inch. "And this time, I'm staying."

Big words, for someone who didn't know why he was there in the first place - but he meant them.
