Reunion [Closed/Complete]
Character(s): Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
Content: The thief and the girl with way too much hair finally find each other in the city.
Setting: Starting out outside Actua Are near Joutenheim Gate.
Time: Late afternoon, backdated to week 27
Warnings: Tangled spoilers possible, I believe.
Rapunzel practically swung out the front door of the hotel. She had to stop herself from throwing her hair over one of the high railings and riding it down from the upper floor she was on. The other hotel guests probably wouldn't have really liked her doing that. But really, she was just incredibly excited to see Eugene here, and all in one piece. It eased a lot of her anxiety over having come to Paixao, knowing he was all right.
Her bare feet slapped on the ground as she finally jogged outside, looking this way and that. It would probably take him a little while still to arrive, but she could wait. Gathering her hair up in her arms so no one tripped on it who was entering and leaving the hotel, she found a place to stand. With a little elp from the wall, she balanced on her tip toes to look over the crowd for him.

The buildings were stunning, not to mention the extraordinary number of gems and precious metals that were just sitting there in plain sight. If he had a way to go home, he could buy his island and his castle and live out the rest of his days surrounded by everything he'd ever wanted to buy. Which, of course...would probably leave him wanting more, but he could worry about that part when he got to it.
The sea of people finally gave way to a structure that was definitely a hotel, and he scanned for Rapunzel's tell-tale gold locks. He figured it wouldn't be hard to find her, but then...everyone in this city was blond. How did they even do that? Were there really enough blond people in the world to have a whole city full of them?
Well, if nothing else, at least he stood out, so she could find him...

Finally, quite a while later, Rapunzel hopped up in time to see the exact person she was looking for. Seeing him in person was very different from hearing his voice over the journal, and the relief that flooded her chest was immense. Pushing off the wall, she made her way through the crowd, having to dodge and weave around people as she went.
"Eu-" She caught herself, even though she much preferred his real name, "Flynn!" when she was finally close enough, she threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug.

"Hey there, Blondie. You look pretty happy to see me." He'd expected her to be, well...okay yeah, she should be happy, but he definitely hadn't been expecting her to be quite...this happy. "I take it you missed me," he said in the deeper voice he always used when he was acting cocky and self-absorbed.
"Been here long?"

Finally looking up at him, her large green eyes open even wider with her excitement, she considered his question for a moment. "I really haven't been here long at all. What about you? When did you arrive?"
Rapunzel removed her arms from around Flynn finally, but still stood incredibly close to him.
no subject
"Not too long myself, actually. Met anyone interesting yet?" Of course, the first person he'd seen when he got inside the gate was Craig, who put quite a few of the people Flynn had ever met to shame...and that was saying something, with the guys at the Snuggly Duckling.

She reached into her pocket then, producing her purple-pink communication journal. "I really like this, it's so fun!"
no subject
He grinned when she pulled out her journal. It was a bit girly. "Bet you wouldn't have minded being stuck in that tower so long if you had one of these things while you were up there, right?" He pulled out his, the same sort of blue as his vest, and shrugged.
"They're pretty handy though. Never seen anything like them in the Kingdom." Even though he'd been in so many of the Kingdom's vaults.

The little journal was now suffering the wrath of Rapunzel's grip on it. "She nodded a bit, smiling brightly. "It definitely would have made things less lonely... but I'm still glad I left. Nothing compares to actually being outside."
"Me neither. Not even in any books. And I've read a lot of books, right Pascal?" At the mention of his name, the little chameleon poked his head out from Rapunzel's hair, taking his usual spot on her shoulder.
no subject
"And you should be glad you left. Nothing beats the great outdoors, right? Way better than some stuffy old tower. Although..." He looked around the domed city, glistening and sparkling everywhere the eye could se.. "I think this place might be an exception."
SPELLING AUGH
Rapunzel followed Flynn's eyes upward, taking in the same glittering sights he was. "I take it you like this place, hm?" And why wouldn't he?
no subject
"So, is the hotel nice?" He looked the building up and down. If it was anything on the inside like what it was on the outside, the answer to that question was definitely "yes."
no subject
"It's beautiful. And so comfortable." He bed was huge and fluffy, she could get food delivered right to her room and not have to make it herself, and the rooms were so elegant. "You can stay here with me... if you want."
no subject
"Well...if you want me to, I guess it couldn't hurt..." His tone was a little suggestive and flirty.
no subject
Oh yeah. She liked him quite a bit. But he still would have to stay in his own room for now. What did you think was going to happen, man?
no subject
"Of course, that's what I meant." He was trying to cover for the blunder, though they really were rare enough that he wasn't good at doing that. ...At all.
An idea came to him, and he sidled up beside her. "You've never really seen anything like these buildings before, right?"
no subject
Removing her hands form her hips and folding her arms, she glanced around and shook her head at his question. "No, nothing. These don't even look like the buildings they had in the Kingdom. And I've never seen them in any of my books either. The architecture is amazing!" She threw one hand up towards the domes.
"And the paintings! They're beautiful."
no subject
"Can't know too much about a place you're stuck in, right?" It only took him a second to catch the blunder. "Unless you're stuck there too long, anyway."
no subject
Giving a small smile, Rapunzel brushed off what he had said by mistake. "Hm, you have a point. There's a lot more to take in around here than in my tower. I could never cover all these walls with paintings." It'd take her forever.

The foyer of the hotel was just as impressive as the outside was, and it was making Flynn very nervous to be around so many expensive objects that would be very easy for a guy holding a frying pan to break on accident while walking around with a girl whose hair stretched far enough that it could probably wrap around one side of the building. ...Not that paying for it would be difficult.
He left Rapunzel standing by herself to talk to the clerk at the desk and get his room, then flipped the key in the air as he walked back to her. "Shall we?"
no subject
Once he was done, she looked up and nodded. "Sure. I'll show you where the stairs are." They had to round a corner to find the huge sweeping staircase up to the right floor. It didn't take long to get to the right room, but it didn't help that there was tons to look at along the way.
Finally finding the correct place, Rapunzel ushered him towards the door. "Okay, go take a look inside!"

Rapunzel gave his arm a gentle squeeze, "Good night." And then she headed for her room, giving one last wave before heading inside.
