The laws of Time and Space [ Active // Closed ]
Character(s): Xigbar, Luxord
Content: An exchange of information.
Setting: The higher floors of Castle Oblivion
Time: Daytime, late week 27
Warnings: None. Spoilers, however, for those who haven't finished CoM, Days or KH II.
Ever curious as to the predicament the Freeshooter had somehow found himself in, the resident manipulator of time arranged a meeting in person to cut down the chances of others listening in on their conversation.
Thus, he turned his journal off and left it in his quarters, warping to the hallway leading to the top floor in Castle Oblivion, his black cloak creating a stark contrast against the white-washed room. It was there he waited for the sniper, hood down and arms folded casually across his chest.

Stepping out of the darkness across from the other Nobody, Xigbar nodded before moving to stand next to him, mirroring his posture. "Fancy seein' you here."

Luxord hadn't much to lose at this point other than his life, but he had quite an opportunity to gain insight to a very unique ability. How the master of Space had traveled back in time, he couldn't say, for as far as Luxord knew, they weren't capable of pulling other Organization members from various points in time.

"The hallway, huh? Didn't think that was your style." Xigbar glanced around; actually being in Castle Oblivion properly, with white walls instead of a false city, really brought home just how strange this all was.

"Yes, well, at least here it'll be easier to spot any visitors--raised platforms and all, blocking our view. I'd rather not be considered a bad host for not spotting and properly greeting a guest, as it were." He waved a hand dismissively at the idea with an amused grin. "But, I digress. I'd rather not waste time with formalities.
Xion is one of the Superior's experiments. She's rather remarkable, I might add, but I would like to know just what happened in the timeline you're claiming to be from."

But, good man that Number X was, he was getting right to business. Tilting his head, Xigbar nodded. An experiment, hmm? "And she was made before all this? And for what?"
Of course, he wasn't going to give it away for free, so Xigbar continued. "Six members of the Organization were sent to Castle Oblivion to set a trap for Sora and Riku. Only one came back, and our little witch disappeared. A couple months later, so did Roxas. I heard Marluxia has already been outed as a traitor here, yeah?"
If Luxord wanted to be vague, then Xigbar could be, too. Besides, he had a feeling he had a lot more to share than the Gambler.

"She was introduced a week after Roxas arrived, yes. However, despite her name being given to us, she is not a true nobody and has a unique trait similar to Naminé's in that they're affected by memories and relations. The Superior has specific ideals in mind for her, of course." He pondered over what Xigbar had given him, and while he was indeed focused, he looked as though he were chatting about the latest gossip at the local pub.
"I see. Yes, Larxene outed Marluxia and he has since been on the run. We have strict orders to destroy him due to his current actions about the city. Who, might I ask, was sent, and whom among them returned?" Oh, how curious. Luxord had wondered about the politics of the Organization.
no subject
"Memories, huh?" That could explain why Xigbar can't remember her -- something must have happened. Though if Luxord is behind this far behind, it's entirely possible he doesn't know what. "What sort of ideals?" He wasn't entirely convinced that Luxord would have been told, but hey, no harm in asking.
Flicking a stray strand of hair over his shoulder, the Freeshooter chuckled. "Larxene outed him? Wonder if she has -- had? -- the same problem I'm having." Rolling his neck until it cracked, Xigbar settled back against the wall before continuing. "Marluxia, Larxene, Axel, Zexion, Lexaeus, and Vexen went. Axel is the only one who came back. I gotta say, the reports from Flamesilocks were pretty sick." Whether he wanted that to mean 'disgusting' or 'cool/interesting' was anyone's guess, as the Nobody just continued to grin.
no subject
"Yes, albeit it doesn't effect what you might think it would. Unlike Naminé, Xion can't alter memories, it's moreso how you see her. As for the purpose, it's unclear. She was only around a short while before we were sent here, though she's escaped. Her and Naminé. I'm unaware if Xemnas has made any attempts to reclaim either."
"I can't say, though I doubt it. If Axel was the only one to come back as you said, then I don't think it very possible that she's from a time closer to yours than ours." Continues standing upright, himself, one arm across his chest and supporting an elbow as his free hand lingered over his chin. It seemed to be a tick of the Gambler's. "Though it seems a waste to send so many members to apprehend a couple of children. And to send so many capable members with a wild-card like Axel? And I'm sure the Superior knew Marluxia had his own agenda, he's not oblivious.."
no subject
"Doesn't mean she isn't from the Castle Oblivion time that I remember, though -- even after she got herself offed." Rolling his eye, Xigbar pushed off the wall, running a hand through his hair. "Marluxia and Larxene were both scheming against the Organization. Vexen was pretty much useless, Lexaeus was expendable, and Zexion... useful enough, but I don't think it was Xemnas who signed up the names to go there. Good ol' X-Face is the one who hands out mission assignments, remember? And he and Axel knew each other before they lost their hearts."
Shaking his head, Xigbar started to pace in front of Luxord. "Axel had orders to get rid of the traitors. If I remember correctly, he killed Vexen before he told Sora of our plans and had a Replica of Riku kill Zexion for... failing, I guess. The others died in combat. Then we had several months of downtime before Roxas disappeared."
Turning, he frowned, staring at Luxord. "Castle Oblivion was just the catalyst for the failure of Organization XIII. And trust me, Luxord; we damn sure failed." He didn't have anyone else to turn to with this; those who had been sent to Castle Oblivion the first time had been defeated while Sora was weakened, and they had been sent there for a reason. If there were truly that many lines of weakness and betrayal... Well, he and Luxord, at least until a few others showed up, seemed to be the only ones outside of it. Besides, he'd kept it vague enough that Luxord would, in all likelihood, still want to know more.

Women always are so fickle." That it was, but Xemnas wasn't exactly public about his own affairs. Usually Luxord was among the last to officially be told things, but he usually had ways of finding out snippets of information beforehand.
None the less, he listened intently, his face now clearly focused as he processed what was told. You could just see the wheels turning over and over in his head. "Given Axel's a wild card and the ways in which those in the Castle Oblivion you know were murdered, it stands to reason that there are more players at the table than originally announced. It sounds as though there's still more left to this story, though." He wouldn't say exactly what he figured was going on, but they were both smart men. Luxord didn't doubt that Xigbar wouldn't purposely explain things the way he did and not expect the Gambler to put the pieces together. He still needed the rest, though. "Marluxia is complicating things with the growing number of keyblade wielders. I wouldn't be surprised if certain members were sent to investigate their appearance, but I must ask, how aware did the Superior appear to be?"
His brows knitted with a displeased expression upon his face as the sniper relayed this news. "Such is the lust for dominion over the cosmos and the terrene within, that our brotherhood mirrors the serpent that devours its own tail."
no subject
It wasn't hard to see that Luxord was thinking things over and arriving at the same conclusion Xigbar had, and for a moment, the Freeshooter allowed himself some false relief... right up until Luxord mentioned that there was a growing number of Keyblade wielders.
"Wait, wait, more twerps with Keyblades?" And if they were taking people from all sorts of times... Oh, fuck. The last thing he needed was to run into Terra -- or for Terra to run into Xemnas. But there was no use jumping to conclusions, not right now. He just had to answer Luxord, keep X on his side, and maybe things would go right this time -- at least in the sense that he wouldn't end up dead.
"Hard to tell. He knew about Marluxia, but... I don't know. Whatever other plans might have been in motion failed when Axel came back and got all buddy-buddy with Roxas, because everyone was just as loyal as could be afterward. ... I think. Memory's kinda fuzzy; must be from Xion."
Dammit. Yet another thing to do: regain his memories of the replica, and whatever it is she'd done. "Xemnas plays things close to his chest, though. For all we know, he knew all along that all that would happen. Took a gamble on it, I guess you could say." And considering the sort of power Kingdom Hearts was rumored to have... hell, who knew? If he was anything like Master Xehanort, he sure wouldn't be above letting the rest of them snuff it to get at it.

"Unfortunately. Riku and Sora that I'm aware of, as well as a lad with a black helmet on. It's been a while since I've had the pleasure of sitting down with players of that caliber." He chuckled lowly at the thought, despite the expressions that he could catch on the sniper's countenance. Given Luxord's stature as a neophyte, it would come as no surprise that he had no idea of the events that took place with Vanitas and his lot. For now, ignorance was bliss, and he seemed a tad amused. "Keyblades are losing their value; they're a dime a dozen these days."
Luxord seemed to mimic the role of the fates he was named after, save he didn't pull nearly as many strings as those ranking over him. Instead, he was content to sit back and watch as the politics unfolded within the castle, stepping into the state of affairs among the commoners to involve himself and have a good time.
It's only fun if the stakes are high. However, Luxord was among the easiest members to get along with on a superficial level. He was pleasant, could both take and dish out multiple types of abuse, and had a penchant for starting up a nice game. On a deeper level, unless your name was Xemnas, it was sometimes difficult to tell where his loyalties lay, for Luxord always looked out for his own best interest. If Xigbar proved to be a good source of intelligence, debate, and discussion, as well as keep up with his numerous games, then Luxord could, indeed, prove to be a keen ally.
"Marluxia, I'm afraid, was more than obvious. Though I have a hard time believing how easily those left over from the original failure of Castle Oblivion got along so well." He let out a dramatic sigh, letting the hand that was previously cupping his bearded chin swing out to let his hand sway through the air. "Logically we have no other use to him, save as pawns to do his bidding, but it is something to do, at least."
