Lean on me. (Active/Closed)
Characters: Sora, Kovu, Kairi, possibly Kiara? (with a small cameo by Woody)
Content: Sora and Kairi go to talk to Kovu.
Setting: Palazzo Townhomes, then Jogo da Crianca
Time: Dusk
Warnings: Emo lion?
After Kovu's last reply to him, Sora closed his journal, and hopped of his bed. He wanted to get to the park as soon as possible. "Later, Woody!" He yelled as he ran out of the room, and slammed the door behind him, though he had ran out way too fast to give Woody a chance to answer.
He ran across the hall to where Kairi was staying and started knocking on her door. He thought she could probably be of help in a situation like this, because she was always the best listener of the group and she always knew what to say when people were upset.

"Hey, Kairi!"

Blinking, Woody’s mouth kinda hanged open, in surprise. Sora didn’t even say where he was going. He stared for a bit, then grumbled. “Ok… I think I’m considering a beeper for that kid,” Woody sighed as he flopped back onto the bed.

"What is it?"

Sora cut right to the chase, he wanted to get over to the park as soon as he could.

Shaking her head slightly, Kairi stepped back into her room, "I don't think you're going to want me to come along. Kovu.... doesn't really like me very much."
no subject
"Besides, you're a lot better listener than I am"
no subject
"That's not true, you'll do fine." Sorry Sora, she's going to need a little more convincing in order to actually go with you for this one. Kovu was a lion... she wasn't quite sure if lions ate the people who ticked them off.

Sora did have a point, hopefully Kovu couldn't stay mad at her forever. She would have to cross her fingers that that was actually the case.

What in the world was he supposed to do?

Should she tell Mufasa about what Scar did? Or was it best she keep quiet. She just didn't know.
And then there was Zira. To say that could be a bad thing was an understatement. Who knows what Zira and Scar could plan together.
Pressing a little closer to Kovu's side, she was gaining strength from his presence as much as s he was trying desperately to give him support. He needed it more, after all. She hadn't seen her father speak up yet, but he would see all that eventually. What would she say? What could either of them?
How could such a bad situation have become so much worse so suddenly?

Sora looked around the park, trying to spot Kovu. It shouldn't be that hard, right? He was probably the only lion around at the moment. "Hey, Kovu? You there?" The stuff Mufasa had mentioned was weighing heavily on Sora's mind, but he had to push it away for now. Just like he had told Mufasa too, Sora also had to give Kovu a chance.

Despite not knowing exactly what Kovu looked like, Kairi didn't think it would be too hard to spot a lion in the park. Eventually the sound of the crinkling grass under Kovu's paws arrived at her ears, and she pointed in the general direction of where it was coming from. "Over there..."

"Sora?" Kovu called out when he the familiar voice. He lifted his head to scan the area, but all he could see was the fog. He heard Sora, and he caught Kairi just barely too, but he they were barely visible.

The lioness' ears pricked up at the sound of voices. Ah, was this who they had been expecting?
"We're over here!" Kiara called out, hoping their voices could help lead the humans this way. The fog was so thick, it was making things very difficult.

He waved nervously at the lions, "Uh, hey." He looked back at Kairi for a bit before turning back to the lions, he wasn't really sure what to say, "So you wanted someone to talk to?"
no subject
"Hi," she said gently, glancing from Kovu and Kiara, to Sora, and back to the lions. She waited to say anything more and let Kovu answer Sora's question.

"I guess...you heard everything, didn't you?" His breath caught, and he choked back something of a sob as he spoke. There was so much guilt, and so much rage, and so much fear. Kovu didn't know what he could do about any of it. What could he possibly do to fix any of this? Mufasa didn't want Kiara or Simba anywhere near him...and...he had good reason.
Kovu's head just fell even further. He couldn't hold it up, not with...not with all of this happening, all at once.
no subject
Kiara was really at a loss at how to fix everything.

"Mufasa said you were supposed to kill Simba..." He also had said that Kovu didn't want to, and he was inclined to believe that. Though troubled, Kovu seemed like a decent enough person to Sora, and if he wanted to change his ways, well, Sora would give him the benefit of the doubt. That's just how Sora did things.

Now she decided the best thing to do was sit down in the grass, and make this as comfortable an environment as they possibly could. Continuing from where Sora had trailed off and deciding to voice what he was most likely thinking, Kairi spoke. "We do know that you refused to do it too, and we... believe you of course."
To her, Kovu's words and actions were speaking quite clearly right now. He didn't want to hurt anyone.
no subject
He found it hard to think of words to say. They believed him, great. But what about everyone else? And now that everyone knew what he'd been raised to do...how could he face any of them?
