Suspicions Manifested [Complete]
Character(s): Riku
Content: Riku encounters the Fog. And not for the first time that week.
Setting: Carta Para Ti area heading east.
Time: Week 26, Night, late in the week.
Warnings: Paranoia, angst, anger...
It was late. Riku was out and about. None of this was ever new. He'd gone to visit the gypsies, finding them quite a different lot than the other natives. He wondered, if this world ever existed beyond the walls of Castle Oblivion, if these folk were once from other worlds, and his is how they adapted.
There was that fog again. It was thick, and in a few places he blew to watch it swirl away from his face.
His thoughts went back to Sora, and he wondered what was becoming of his best friend. No, he'd outright worried before. There was that sense of dread yesterday. And at the same time, he suddenly felt his blood boil. He began to mumble.
"Why DIDN'T he tell me if he was going undercover? But Sora's not the type to be a turncoat. It'd be stupid for him. ...So why's he in the Organization? WHY did he side with them? ...He's had his Keyblade longer. Maybe it's gone to his head. ...If he was offered power like I was... That would explain the Dark Corridor." He balled a fist. "So now he's tossing everything away. Tossing me and Kairi away. Why is he betraying us? Why? WHY?!"
"Because you did it first."
Riku blinked, wide-eyed and looked around. "Who's there? Sora?"
"Who else? I'm the guy you double-crossed a few years ago. Turn about is fair play, right?"
And Riku caught sight of him. Indeed, it was Sora, stepping out of the fog into view. For a brief moment, his eyes flashed yellow. Words burst from Riku without any hesitation. "No, you're not going to make my mistakes!"
And Sora, smiling cruelly, stepped back into the fog. Riku reached out to grab his friend, but found nothing. He snarled.
"SORA! SORA, EXPLAIN YOURSELF!"
