Content: Exploring! Sokka and Suki go to explore and bump into Toph. \o/
Setting: Destiny Island to start
Time: Uh... mid-day?
Warnings: Nada :D

To say Sokka was glad to be on his feet again was an understatement, and it felt even better to be out of that city. Of course, the whole building leading to a hallway to a totally different place? That was weird. Sokka couldn't even begin to wrap his mind around what the heck that was, but this place was definitely an improvement.

In fact, he wouldn't have minded just staying here. A soft, sandy beach, tropical trees, a warm breeze... It was like being back on Ember Island, except not being in the Fire Nation. This was awesome.

"Man, why have we been staying in that place when this was here?" he said, gesturing around him.

Suki wasn't even trying to wrap her mind around the hallways and city inside a castle thing. She smiled at the sight of the beach and the trees. It was like a nice vacation spot and she was pretty sure she'd want to stay there longer sometime.

"Probably because the city's back there," Suki answered, glancing around. "Most of what we need is there. I wonder if there are monsters or something here. Maybe platypus-bears or something."

She walked up to one of the trees and touched it. At least it looked pretty real and felt real.

"Makes me miss home even more."

Toph can comes in?

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking of monsters, Toph had suddenly decided to pop in at the island place that she couldn't feel in the city. She personally hated that, having such a big place disappear to a small island. Still, she had told that moody guy on the journal that she would explore. She also had to find Sokka, so since she couldn't feel him or Suki in the city, she decided to go world hopping.

She grinned as she set foot on the sand. Thanks to her training with sand-bending, she could feel both Sokka and Suki on the island, both of whom weren't too far away. She strode over to where they sat on the beach. "Well, well, if it isn't the two love birds of the gang." Toph then ran over to them and plopped down in between them and grabbed them with her arms, pulling them together for a big hug.

totes okay with me!

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right," Suki chuckled, agreeing with the monsters thing. It was fine enough as it was without anything creepy showing up. "We'll have to remember supplies next time we come."

She would have added more, but she sensed someone walking up to them. Suki turned just in time to notice Toph before the girl pulled them into a hug. It was unexpected, but nice, to see Toph. Even with the backbreaking hug.

"Hi, Toph."

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hi Suki!" Toph gave her a warm smile before turning to Sokka.

"I was lookin' for you guys. What else? I heard Suki on the journal, and I had to come back and find you anyway after...uhm...looking for the badgermoles. How's your leg?"

Toph let go of the couple and flopped back on the sand. "Man, it's been boring around here without you guys."

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"How did the badgermoles go?" Suki asked, sitting down next to Toph. She let Sokka tell Toph about his leg, since she was the one who had been around him the most when he'd been injured. Suki hadn't even seen it happen.

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-10-31 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Toph frowned. "There weren't any!" I checked all over the place too. Not a single one." The idea of the badgermoles having a city had excited Toph beyond belief. And now, all hopes of such a miracle were crushed.

She found her smile again as she felt Sokka flex his leg. "Good. That means I won't feel bad for doing this." Toph gave Sokka a hard punch in the arm. She had missed doing that.

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-11-01 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Suki couldn't help laughing at the two of them. While she was sad for Toph that there weren't any badgermoles - nevermind the fact that she didn't see how the place could house any in the first place - she was still happy to have them all together again. It was nice, even though Katara, Aang, and Zuko weren't around. Their group was half-together at least. That was something, right?

"Don't break his arm, Toph," Suki teased. "I know he's got another one, but I think he enjoys the use of all of his limbs right now."

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Calm down brainiac. It's not like I broke your arm. Do you want be to be your body guard?" Sarcasm and teasing tones were dripping from Toph's words. She realized that having anything in the body broken must suck, but c'mon. Wasn't Sokka supposed to be a man.

Wait. This is Sokka.

"How about this? I won't punch you for a few weeks while you get used to your working limbs again?" It was the most she could do about that. The teasing wouldn't be able to contain itself.

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-11-09 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Suki couldn't help laughing again. Oh, Sokka.

"That sounds fair enough," Suki agreed, grinning. "Then you can make up for lost time?"

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-21 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Toph gave Sokka a mischievous grin. "I guess we'll have to see to find out, won't we?"

The earthbender got up and flopped in the sand, making a nice sand-angel. Her sandbending wasn't quite up to par yet, so she might as well start practicing. "So, what plans did you two have for the day?"

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Suki hid a laugh behind a hand. She'd really missed Toph being around. Sokka had a point, but she supposed they really would have to find out.

Suki shrugged in response to Toph's question. "We were just looking around these floors. I think we wanted to look at the newest one. Feel like coming with us?"

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-12-05 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Toph's smile dropped a little. Exploring this castle was certainly an adventure, but there was still one thing she hated about it.

She stopped making her sand angel, but remained in her spot lying down in the beach. "I don't know if you guys have noticed, but it's like these other worlds aren't even connected to each other. When I'm in that Paixao place, I can't feel this beach. And now that I'm here, I can't feel Paixao." She was sure that would confuse Sokka and Suki as much as it confused her. Toph had only come here because she knew that this was a small island before she set foot here the first time, and she was with a large group of people. What if a door led to a pool of lava? Toph wouldn't know until it was too late...

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-12-05 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Suki shifted nervously at Toph's question and glanced at Sokka. The situation was strange as far as she understood it, but she didn't know as much about it as he might.

"Sokka, you might know more about this than I do," she began apologetically, "but I think that's because it's some kind of world within a world. That's probably why you can't feel anything. It's all jumbled up."

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Toph had sat up and had made a few sand sculptures while Sokka and Suki were talking. So far, she had made one of Aang and another of Zuko getting squished by a rock.

"Who cares about explanations? I'm just tellin' you how I see things, so it'd be best if you two went in front of me." Toph really didn't want to become part of some sort of lava soup. "I'm totally up for exploring."

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, at least she hadn't been too far off the mark with that one.

"We'll keep you from walking into anything," Suki answered, half-teasing. A strange place this was. Having to keep Toph from running into things instead of the other way around was definitely a new one. "So, do you guys want to get going now, then?"

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2010-12-18 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
"One second." Toph made one last sculpture of Sokka trying to kiss Suki, but her about to smack him in the face. There. Her works of art were complete, and she got some sandbending practice in. Life was good.

"Ok, we can go now." Toph dusted the access sand off her hands and brushed her clothes off a bit before standing next to Sokka, waiting for him to lead the way.

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2010-12-18 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The sculpture gets a hidden laugh out of Suki before she gets up and dusts herself off, too.

"Lead on, fearless leader," she teased, grinning at Sokka even as she headed for the doorway. It would be a bit of a shame to leave a place as quiet and nice as this one, but at the same time, she was looking forward to getting out and back home.

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2011-01-17 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Toph smirked. "You have no idea what you're doing, do you?" She crossed his arms and walked in the back, as for once, people with eyes were an advantage.

We can pretend they don't XDa?

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
As for the way to the next floor, Suki reasoned that if they'd entered Destiny Islands through a door, they'd probably need another door to make it to the next floor. Just which door was the question, but she moved on after Sokka, waiting for one of the others to tell her she was going in the wrong direction.

Judging by Sokka's response as he started walking, neither of them knew which way exactly.

"Well, it should be the opposite way of the door we came through and it should be another door we're looking for. Toph, you can't sense where it drops off, can you, or does everything just hit an edge and drop off?"

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nah, I just feel the door frame and then nothing. I can't tell which one goes where." Like the others, she'd have to learn which doors led where and memorize it.

Toph waited in the hallway for either Sokka or Suki to pick a door to go through.

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
After a couple of wrong turns got them absolutely nowhere aside from turned around completely, Suki finally decided to just look everywhere. So, it was with the skills given to her from years of Kyoshi Warrior training that she found the small cave to begin with. The door inside it just happened to be a nice perk.

"Let's try this one."

Pushing it open, she blinked at the suddenly white hallway they were facing. "I guess this is right?" Suki glanced at her friends and shrugged. "Well, it's better than wandering around the beach all day."

Partially.

Shrugging to herself again, she struck out in the direction of the door on the far side, hoping it would lead forward and not back the way they'd come.

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Toph hesitated at the door, hating the feeling of jumping into emptiness every time she wanted to go to a different place. She forced herself through though, and felt another long, boring hallway with a couple of doors lining the walls.

She trailed behind Suki and took a hold of her belt, not wanting to be left behind again. When Suki was going to go through, Toph would too.

"I wish they had a better system for this world jumping."

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"So do I," Suki commented, agreeing with Toph. She felt the hand on her belt and steadied herself. If something was waiting for them on the other side, she would have enough balance to get both herself and Toph out of harm's way quickly. She pushed the door open and-

Suddenly found herself staring at a... well, she wasn't really sure what to call Halloween Town. "Oo...kay, I guess there's an intermediary first. I don't think this place looks too dangerous, but it can't hurt to be careful. Ready, Toph?"

She took a few steps forward into the new area, making sure Toph could get a good visual grip with her feet.

[identity profile] blindearthgirl.livejournal.com 2011-03-24 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Toph stepped out with Suki, glad that there really wasn't a pool of molten lava waiting for them. She let go of Suki now that she could see where she was, her face going from slightly nervous to absolutely confused.

"I think all the trees are dead or something." They certainly felt that way. There weren't any leaves on them, and there weren't any on the ground either. They had to have died a while ago. Maybe it was a good thing Aang wasn't here.

Toph walked into the circle of trees with doors. "You think we should open one? I don't feel anything inside the trees, so maybe they take you to other places too?"

[identity profile] climbswalls.livejournal.com 2011-03-24 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it could have been worse. The forest could have been attacking them or something. Suki shrugged, turning to Toph as the girl gave her assessment of the situation. Wondering if the trees really were hollow, Suki approached one with a big green tree decorated with different colors.

"Wonder what this one is? I guess we could. It would be better than just standing around."

Placing her hand on the tree, she tried to fiddle with it enough to get it to open.
