Character(s): Sokka, Suki and Toph
Content: Exploring! Sokka and Suki go to explore and bump into Toph. \o/
Setting: Destiny Island to start
Time: Uh... mid-day?
Warnings: Nada :D
To say Sokka was glad to be on his feet again was an understatement, and it felt even better to be out of that city. Of course, the whole building leading to a hallway to a totally different place? That was weird. Sokka couldn't even begin to wrap his mind around what the heck that was, but this place was definitely an improvement.
In fact, he wouldn't have minded just staying here. A soft, sandy beach, tropical trees, a warm breeze... It was like being back on Ember Island, except not being in the Fire Nation. This was awesome.
"Man, why have we been staying in that place when this was here?" he said, gesturing around him.

"Probably because the city's back there," Suki answered, glancing around. "Most of what we need is there. I wonder if there are monsters or something here. Maybe platypus-bears or something."
She walked up to one of the trees and touched it. At least it looked pretty real and felt real.
"Makes me miss home even more."
no subject
"Yeah, I'm missing home too," Sokka agreed a little more soberly. He'd been missing the south pole ever since he and Katara had left to help Aang and he did, of course, still miss it now more than ever, but his homesickness had become a much broader feeling. He missed, well, the whole thing. Their whole world. Weird bizzaro world here, just didn't make sense. It was just... too weird. He was glad he wasn't alone, however, but thoughts still went to Katara and Aang. Hopefully Zuko had somehow been sent back and he might tell them where they were.
Hopefully.
"But, hey, I still think this wouldn't be a bad place to stay. We'd just need to bring some supplies," he said, trying to quickly change the mood. "And don't mention monsters again, I don't want to risk jinxing it."
Toph can comes in?
She grinned as she set foot on the sand. Thanks to her training with sand-bending, she could feel both Sokka and Suki on the island, both of whom weren't too far away. She strode over to where they sat on the beach. "Well, well, if it isn't the two love birds of the gang." Toph then ran over to them and plopped down in between them and grabbed them with her arms, pulling them together for a big hug.
totes okay with me!
She would have added more, but she sensed someone walking up to them. Suki turned just in time to notice Toph before the girl pulled them into a hug. It was unexpected, but nice, to see Toph. Even with the backbreaking hug.
"Hi, Toph."
no subject
"Toph!" he exclaimed, both surprised and happy to see her. This was the first he'd actually seen of her since she'd gone off on him.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, settling an arm over her shoulder for a moment to return a brief hug.
no subject
"I was lookin' for you guys. What else? I heard Suki on the journal, and I had to come back and find you anyway after...uhm...looking for the badgermoles. How's your leg?"
Toph let go of the couple and flopped back on the sand. "Man, it's been boring around here without you guys."
no subject
no subject
"Oh, my leg? It's good as new!" he then replied, sounding as happy about it as he looked, as he stuck out his leg, bending it and such a few times to prove his point. "This healer girl came over and used some weird not-bending power on it. I donno what it was, but hey, it worked."
Sokka had been incredibly happy to have use of his leg again. While, admittedly, he HAD kind of enjoyed being doted on by his girlfriend, the frustration of not being able to do anything had slowly been driving him insane.
no subject
She found her smile again as she felt Sokka flex his leg. "Good. That means I won't feel bad for doing this." Toph gave Sokka a hard punch in the arm. She had missed doing that.
no subject
"Don't break his arm, Toph," Suki teased. "I know he's got another one, but I think he enjoys the use of all of his limbs right now."
no subject
Sokka couldn't agree more with Suki's words. Of course, while Suki was teasing, Sokka's reaction was quite serious. "You got that right! I don't want to break anything again, if I can help it."
After being laid up so long, the LAST thing Sokka wanted to risk was getting injured again any time soon. He'd go crazy if he was ended up with a broken arm or something.
no subject
Wait. This is Sokka.
"How about this? I won't punch you for a few weeks while you get used to your working limbs again?" It was the most she could do about that. The teasing wouldn't be able to contain itself.
no subject
"That sounds fair enough," Suki agreed, grinning. "Then you can make up for lost time?"
no subject
"But, hey, can you even last that long?"
He had his doubts.
no subject
The earthbender got up and flopped in the sand, making a nice sand-angel. Her sandbending wasn't quite up to par yet, so she might as well start practicing. "So, what plans did you two have for the day?"
no subject
Suki shrugged in response to Toph's question. "We were just looking around these floors. I think we wanted to look at the newest one. Feel like coming with us?"
no subject
"Having a earthbender along could be pretty handy," Sokka added, after Suki's invitation. They had no idea what to expect and while, of course, two non-benders like himself and Suki could probably handle things just fine, still having Toph along wouldn't be a bad idea. Better safe than sorry, right?
no subject
She stopped making her sand angel, but remained in her spot lying down in the beach. "I don't know if you guys have noticed, but it's like these other worlds aren't even connected to each other. When I'm in that Paixao place, I can't feel this beach. And now that I'm here, I can't feel Paixao." She was sure that would confuse Sokka and Suki as much as it confused her. Toph had only come here because she knew that this was a small island before she set foot here the first time, and she was with a large group of people. What if a door led to a pool of lava? Toph wouldn't know until it was too late...
no subject
"Sokka, you might know more about this than I do," she began apologetically, "but I think that's because it's some kind of world within a world. That's probably why you can't feel anything. It's all jumbled up."
no subject
"I know about the same amount as you guys," Sokka replied. He might have been here longer than Suki, but he really didn't know more than she did. "But that sounds like as good an explanation as any."
no subject
"Who cares about explanations? I'm just tellin' you how I see things, so it'd be best if you two went in front of me." Toph really didn't want to become part of some sort of lava soup. "I'm totally up for exploring."
no subject
"We'll keep you from walking into anything," Suki answered, half-teasing. A strange place this was. Having to keep Toph from running into things instead of the other way around was definitely a new one. "So, do you guys want to get going now, then?"
no subject
no subject
"Ok, we can go now." Toph dusted the access sand off her hands and brushed her clothes off a bit before standing next to Sokka, waiting for him to lead the way.
no subject
"Lead on, fearless leader," she teased, grinning at Sokka even as she headed for the doorway. It would be a bit of a shame to leave a place as quiet and nice as this one, but at the same time, she was looking forward to getting out and back home.
no subject
"Right! Let's go... this way, uh, I think," he said, heading off in a direction that he thought they needed to go.
((ooc: ...damn, I don't remember how/if Suki and Sokka knew how to get to the next floor, lol. |Da ))
no subject
We can pretend they don't XDa?
Judging by Sokka's response as he started walking, neither of them knew which way exactly.
"Well, it should be the opposite way of the door we came through and it should be another door we're looking for. Toph, you can't sense where it drops off, can you, or does everything just hit an edge and drop off?"
no subject
no subject
Toph waited in the hallway for either Sokka or Suki to pick a door to go through.
no subject
"Let's try this one."
Pushing it open, she blinked at the suddenly white hallway they were facing. "I guess this is right?" Suki glanced at her friends and shrugged. "Well, it's better than wandering around the beach all day."
Partially.
Shrugging to herself again, she struck out in the direction of the door on the far side, hoping it would lead forward and not back the way they'd come.
no subject
"Yeah, this looks like the same kinda hallway as we passed through before, alright," Sokka commented as he followed Suki into the hallway, feeling pretty confident that they were going the right way. This looked exactly like the what they'd passed through to end up on the island.
Of course, it was anyone's guess what they were going to be greeted at the other end.
no subject
She trailed behind Suki and took a hold of her belt, not wanting to be left behind again. When Suki was going to go through, Toph would too.
"I wish they had a better system for this world jumping."
no subject
Suddenly found herself staring at a... well, she wasn't really sure what to call Halloween Town. "Oo...kay, I guess there's an intermediary first. I don't think this place looks too dangerous, but it can't hurt to be careful. Ready, Toph?"
She took a few steps forward into the new area, making sure Toph could get a good visual grip with her feet.
no subject
"I don't know about that, Suki. This place pretty spooky, if you ask me," Sokka said, slowly stepping out the door behind Suki and Toph. Suddenly the stark white hallway seemed a whole lot more friendly than this place.
Slowly closing the door behind him, Sokka glanced around. "Hey, there's more doors on these other trees."
no subject
"I think all the trees are dead or something." They certainly felt that way. There weren't any leaves on them, and there weren't any on the ground either. They had to have died a while ago. Maybe it was a good thing Aang wasn't here.
Toph walked into the circle of trees with doors. "You think we should open one? I don't feel anything inside the trees, so maybe they take you to other places too?"
no subject
"Wonder what this one is? I guess we could. It would be better than just standing around."
Placing her hand on the tree, she tried to fiddle with it enough to get it to open.
