Shrouding Dark Cloud [Active]
Character(s): Maleficent, Scar, and Hook.
Content: Hook introduces someone who may prove of use to Maleficent.
Setting: City Hall [I6]
Time: Nightfall
Hook had never been much of a team player. Even among the other villains Hook failed to seek the same priorities, caring little for this keyblade wielder, and only his own agenda that had yet to be revealed. He chose only to cooperate when it deemed necessary. However, times had changed. Their cohorts were vanishing and rather quickly at that. And though the pirate was rather grateful to find himself free of their ridicule and ungrateful company, he knew Maleficent would be counting on him now more than ever to fulfill the tasks she appointed him in their absents. Who knew, perhaps she had rid of the others herself on the account of their performance disappointing her? The captain would not put such a thing past her. Maleficent struck fear in even him (though he had no intention of admitting so) and remained a force he had no intention of crossing swords with.
He knew both his loyalty and worth would be put to test in the days to come but he was certain he could prove he was more than qualified to be in Maleficent’s presence. And he would start doing so with a gift: a lion he had encountered on the streets of Paixao. He had failed to catch the creature’s name, but it remained of little importance to him. With or without a name, he would remain nothing more than a foul beast to Hook. Well, a foul beast which could be of use. The lion appeared surprisingly clever and had somehow managed to obtain the ability to control Heartless. It was most intriguing, just as he suspected Maleficent would find it. And with their decline in numbers a new addition would do them well, especially when it was not another hag. Hook refused to allow himself to be outnumbered again. The likes of Ursula and Maleficent alone had taken a serious toll on him and remained something he wished never to endure again if possible. The consolidation of two female minds was dangerous business.
Contacting Scar, the lion, proved simple with the journals. It was even easier without thirty glistening sharp teeth smiling at him tauntingly, though he would be forced to face them regardless when the creature joined him under the cover of nightfall outside City Hall. His words were brief with the beast upon arrival, likely due to his discomfort. He asked that Scar remained outside until further instruction before summoning a dark portal which lead inside the barricaded building. He wished to have a word with the woman before introducing the beast.
A Corridor of Darkness opened before Maleficent’s desk, out of which emerged Hook donning a crooked smile. “Good evening, me lady.” He greeted, pausing to remove his hat and bow before the mistress. “I wish not to disturb you but I believe I have found something that may be relevant to your interest. You might consider it a little… ‘Present’ of sorts. After the unexpected loss of the others, I believe he may be of some use to us given your approval.”

Contacting Scar, the lion, proved simple with the journals. His words were brief with the beast upon arrival, likely due to his discomfort.

"Oh? Is that so?" she responded, certainly curious of who Hook could possibly think would interest her. She would play along for now. "Well, who would that be, Hook?"
no subject
He remained silent, biding his time. Of course, he hadn't been content to simply wait outside. That would have been quite boring, after all, and wouldn't have suited a King such as himself. The air inside had much of the same stink as the female did, along with all the...interesting...decorations.

Unbeknownst to him, Scar had already invited himself into City Hall and simply followed the pirate inside. Hook did not realize this until he turned to fetch the said lion only to find him seated right behind him. The pirate gave out a shriek in horror and jumped back. Those teeth… Those sharp, ominous, teeth were far too close to him. He proceeded to stumble back, increasing the distance between him and the lion until he found he could no more, his back against Maleficent’s desk.
“FOUL BEAST! HAD YOU NOT HEARD WHAT I SAID?!” he screamed angrily, his face quickly turning red. Whether or not it was out of anger or embarrassment was debatable. Scar had made him look like a complete fool in front of Maleficent and Hook was more than convinced it have been on purpose too. “I recall distinctively instructing you to wait outside until further direction!"

Slowly she moved from behind the desk, fingers curling around her staff as she approached Scar. Well, well, so this is who Hook brought to her? She'd seen the lion on the journals, of course and did speak to him once briefly.
There was certainly a darkness in him. A darkness that could potentially control the Heartless, but the question was, was it too much darkness? Could he keep the Heartless from devouring his own heart? Well, no matter. Either way, he could possibly be useful.
"Well now," she began, looking down at Scar. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
no subject
This female certainly held sway over the man, if nothing else. Scar tucked his head down with a grin as he walked just a short distance forward, enough that she could see him more clearly, and he could smell Hook's fear all the better. The stink of it tickled Scar's nostrils.
"I just so happened to run into your timorous associate the other day, and he seemed to have taken quite the liking to me." As Scar spoke, he passed by the tall form of the black-clad biped, turning his head only slightly to look back at her as he walked. "He decided to bring me here entirely of his own accord. I didn't even ask him for an invitation."
I... really have nothing guys. DX Sorry. >.<

“He has proven most ‘quaint’ a creature.” He said, slowly approaching the pair while he stuffed his pink handkerchief back into his sleeve. However, even then, Hook was certain to keep his distance from Scar. “It would appear as though he has attained control of the Heartless. How such a creature of poor acuity could grasp such ability remains to be seen but I believe he may very well be of use to us. Our numbers have regrettably declined while it would appear our dearest friends, Organization Thirteen’s, have remained invariable.”

Instead, the lion held his tongue, taking care to look particularly bored by inspecting his claws carefully. He tapped each digit to his paw pad, then waved his paw dismissively. "The Heartless are no more complex creatures than the hyenas were. Though I must say they've proven to be far more useful." Scar shrugged his shoulders again.
no subject
"Well, the ability to summon and control the Heartless is not something to be overlooked," she said, agreeing with Hook's assessment. "He could indeed prove to be a useful... ally."
Of course, what Maleficent said and what she intended to do were two different things. She certainly intended to use him just as much as she was using Hook, although, of course, she knew Hook; he was painfully predictable. This lion, on the other hand, she knew nothing about. He was certainly sly and dark. Oh yes, there was certainly a darkness brewing in this one. The question was, would it be too much for him to handle? Time would tell.
"We are striving to find out the secrets of this castle and make them our own. Would this interest you, lion?" she asked Scar, taking care not to give away too much of their goals.

The pirates hand ran over his hook in thought and awaited the beasts response to Maleficent.

'Ally' was not a word that Scar thought highly of. To him, it meant very little different than 'minion,' a role he was certainly unwilling to play in this place...or really, ever, for that matter. The King of Pride Rock was not going to bow before anyone ever again. Especially not a human, or this strange female. Though her commanding air was impressive, to say the least.
no subject
She lifted her hand, gesturing as she spoke. "Power, my feline acquaintance, is what this venture is about."
no subject
“Why settle for mere kingdom when you could have so much more at your disposal?” In thought, he curled his moustache around his hook to the point he could no more, then released it with a loud snap. “Get the point!”
no subject
But of course...that didn't mean that they couldn't help him. They would certainly be useful, there was no question about that. In fact, the human was already properly fearful of Scar. The female, though...she would need to be taken care of. A grin broke across Scar's maw, belying his thoughts. Or, perhaps, showing them plainly, if one knew anything about the lion's sinister mind.
"And what do you propose for our little deal?" he asked, sounding quite eager. No more than would be expected, of course, he couldn't have them thinking he was really after something else.
And if none of this were to work out at all...he would still be King of Pride Rock when he returned.
no subject
"That is a valuable ability."
She settled in her seat and seemingly from no where a raven swept down, landing on the dark fae's shoulder. Gently Maleficent stroked the bird's feathers.
"There are those who will try to get in our way. They will need to be... dealt with."
no subject
“You have proven quite capable of summoning such creatures now but how long is that to last? Do you truly grasp this ability as well as you may think?” Melodramatically, Hook rested the back of his palm against his forehead. “One dares not think what happen should you find yourself unable to summon such creatures during a predicament of sorts. And should you be in need of a stronger one, would you be able to call one forth?”
no subject
"It sounds rather a simple task, to simply kill those who oppose us. Are you quite sure you need me to help you?" Playing hardball with them wouldn't accomplish anything, but Scar wasn't after haggling the bargain. Killing was nothing to him, though of course these two had no idea of that. They would learn soon enough that he was quite good at planning..."accidents" for those who stood in his way...
"But don't get me wrong, I have no issues with simple at all." He turned to the human and approached him swiftly, snapping his jaws shut in a mocking fashion into a menacing smile. His voice was brimming with the same menace as he spoke. "You wouldn't happen to know how to summon the stronger ones-" he paused, and quite suddenly sat back, picking up one of his front paws and inspecting it, "...would you?"
The show would do little to endear him to either of them, but such a thing felt hardly purposeful with either of hem. It had been easy to fool Mufasa into a sense of security, but Scar's older brother had always been very trusting, and had always hoped that Scar's outlook on life would...how had he put it..."improve." These two were much less trusting, and would hesitate very little if a reason to kill Scar arose--whether they appeared to like him or not. They weren't as clever as he, not by a long shot, but they likely both thought they were, which, for his own position in this deal, would be just as dangerous for him. It would require careful planning if he was going to accomplish his own goal while working the the two of them.
At any rate, as long as he was here, he would always have the Heartless to fall back on. As a...last resort, of sorts. Or a first resort. He supposed that depended on the situation, really.
no subject
"However, it would be foolish to pass over an opportunity to gain further allies, as we are slightly out numbered," she continued.
"As for the Heartless... should you wish to join us, such information could certainly be shared."

"But, as for our little deal..." He took a step around the man, and started to circle around the two of them again, making quite the show of looking lost in thought. Of course, he'd made the decision to join them already, simply for the sake of the Heartless. If they proved to be annoying, it would be all too easy to trap either of them unsuspecting with that boy they seemed so concerned about. Scar himself had little to fear from him, as long as he could keep his distance. The only problem Scar had was his nephew.
"I suppose I could accept," he finally said, stopping and again examining his paw with an air of nonchalance.
