My Teeth and Ambitions Are Bared! [Active]
Character(s): Scar and Vexen, closed
Content: HEARTLESS POKEMON BATTLE GO!
Setting: Destiny Islands
Time: Mid-day
Warnings: ...Um.
Following that human who reeked of the Heartless had proven just as fruitless as Scar had expected. The man had not done anything interesting for the rest of that night, but he had entered a rather curious building covered in thorns after a jaunt around the city. Scar could only assume that building was City Hall, and its inhabitants were those the other residents had spoken of with such disdain.
He had been waiting since that day to be contacted again, but had not yet heard anything. His impatience had led to a post on the journals, and a most unpleasant situation involving his nephew and that human brat with the key. It had been dealt with, and now Simba was rather angry at the boy, but Scar was still rather annoyed. If he hadn't been so quick, he may have had Simba breathing down his neck about Mufasa...which was a less than desirable situation.
Boredom led him back to the islands where he had first encountered the Heartless, though he was far less concerned with them now than he had been before. The ones who appeared to stand in his way were simply dismissed. He paid careful attention to them, though, and noted which ones might prove the most useful against his adversaries. The strongest he had encountered so far were still quite weak, it seemed, but in large numbers eliminating them would still be very taxing for one individual. The ones who continually made ice, fire, and lightning he cataloged for their particular merit in exploiting weaknesses.

The lion had gone to Destiny Islands, and he had carefully followed him there, observing what he was doing as he wandered. It seemed that the heartless weren't really attacking him, but if one did decide to do so, it was as if the creature had the power to dismiss them back to the darkness.
...Interesting. He would have to do more research into the world this lion came from when he returned to the labs. He made a mental note and stayed above where the lion was, watching from where he had used a portal to enter the world.

So with some force of his will, a handful of Heartless appeared in the air in front of him. They were shaped like flowers, red and a whitish blue. With a gesture of his paw, the red one shot fire at the white one, and it disappeared. Another white plant was summoned, and then dismissed after destroying the red one.
Then he got a different idea. He thought of the Pridelands for a moment. What if there were Heartless that had come from a similar place? He tried to summon something of the sort, and a brown baboon-like creature with a white face appeared from a sphere of darkness. It held a small rod with its tail, and looked left and right rapidly. He summoned weaker shadows for it to destroy, and it did so by simply disappearing and becoming just the mask it wore. It flew through the shadows like they were nothing, and Scar grinned to himself. Heartless from his world seemed to be rather powerful. He summoned a couple small, bird-like Heartless as well, and it took only a moment for them too to dispose of more shadows.

They were somewhat powerful too.
He decided to just observe for the moment, gathering information for the Superior. And, he really didn't want a fight at the moment unless his hand was forced. He watched as one of the heartless birds flew up at him, aiming one of it's arms to attack him. An annoyance really, he had nothing it wanted.
He waved his hand, casting an ice spell and encasing the heartless in ice, sending it crashing down to the ground.

"Was that necessary?" He muttered, not sure if it was loud enough for the lion to hear or not, now just frustrated at him.

The baboons quickly started attacking with spells, while the fire plants again aimed for the worthless black-coated vermin.

He summoned a group of lower nobodies, dusks and creepers, and sent them at the fire plants. Sure, they may not be able to destroy the baboon creatures, Vexen could take them out with either an ice spell, or on of his stronger attacks.
But, to be completely honest. He was getting bored with all of this. If the lion kept it up, he would just leave. He did have enough information to start searching for information.

Then Scar thought of the Pridelands again, and of the much stronger creatures there. And of what a powerful Heartless they would make. With that thought, a tremendous Heartless crashed out of a portal toward the cloaked figure. It had a head much like a rhinocerous, with a green body and only two legs. Wicked fangs lined its mouth, and sharp claws tore at the ground as it stomped ever nearer to its target.

He sighed, knowing that he really didn't have much to counter such a foe, and summoned a dark portal, disappearing into it for a moment...
...Only to appear a bit behind the lion himself, far enough away to not be in attack range, but still close enough.

"Persistent, aren't we?" he asked of the concealed face in the hood, expecting little in the way of an answer. The fact that the creature had run away from that Heartless instead of facing it head on like the others gave Scar more confidence, and he stood with his head held high and proud. After all, he had the upper hand now.

Interesting... He thought, still staring down at the lion, still unafraid (not that he could feel fear anyway...). The Organization could have use for a creature such as this one.
Vexen still had a few tricks up his sleeve if he needed to use them.

With barely a thought, he summoned numerous fire plants all over the area, ready to blanket the entire beach in a swath of flame. He made ready to begin leaping over the spitting fires, as there was simply no way he had time to arrange them to all avoid him specifically and still eliminate his adversary.

He had gathered the data that he needed so far, but he wondered what the creature would do now. Why he had only used the heartless to attack, and not himself made Vexen wonder about his true physical strength, or if the lion was now going to rely on the darkness in his control for all fights.

Scar chuckled to himself. The reaction had been just what he expected. Not only was the figure easily forced to retreat, but the location of the retreat was quite predictable. That was enough for him.
He took his time going back to the door that would lead him again to the city, quite done with the little "battle." He had learned quite a bit about the Heartless, and was returning to Paixao with a devilish smirk.

Watching as the lion stalked off, Vexen opened another portal, this one with a destination of his lab, to muse over what he had learned about one of the citizens of this city.
