Other worlds you say? (Active/Open)

Characters: Ziva David, Open to Anyone
Content: Ziva's traveling through the city, heading towards the Church...and the door to the next world.
Setting: Somewhere in the city.
Time: Week 23, Afternoon.
Warnings: Ziva in herself is a warning. Edit1: Ziva and Trudy though? This may be chaos in badass women form. Edit2: Aaaand Grace's mouth. She's her own swear word dictionary.

Apparently, it held the connection between this city, and another world. She really didn't know what was on the other side, but she was moderately armed, and could hold her own with most things she would probably come across.

So, she was heading to these so called other worlds to see what she could find out about this original city. Everyone seemed to end up here, in the domes, and spread out from there. Except for the strange blond citizens, who just stayed within the gates, and gave anyone who didn't look like they belonged there strange looks. But she was used to this by now.

Maybe these other places would have less of these identical citizens and more interesting things to look at. She stopped at a small shop to take a look at what they had, since she wasn't in a hurry to get there just yet. She wanted to see what was still going on in this town, considering there had been some strange events going on since she'd arrived.

hope you don't mind another bada** joining the venture. :3

I still don't have a full handle on this Paixao place. Then again, my last job was defending nine foot tall blue people, so I need to keep this shit in perspective.

Trudy daydreamed to herself at times when she knew she had no other duties or responsibilities. She had taken more to her mind lately since she had no job or active goal. She hung around, talked with her close friend Grace Augustine (who had found herself in Paixao earlier than Trudy had), met a sinister yet sweet girl in the city, talked around with a fellow pilot stuck in the nowhere land, and managed to kick herself out of bed to try and get primed for some kind of exploration.

She was easily distracted by the kindly shopkeepers. Though she was certainly more militaristic and hard-edged than any of the women she ever met in her life, she still had a thing for seeing what was around. At the very least, she hoped to find some kind of chance to show off her previous skills.

After an unsuccessful stint in searching shop after shop, she had arrived behind a beautiful woman who also appeared to be a visitor to the strange world. Trudy quickened pace and marched to the counter.

She immediately asked for something to do. "I haven't done crap around here. Please, just make me do something."

She turned back to the woman she had passed and said, "Sorry I skipped you. Civilian life is getting to me."

/crashes this thread party. Grace's mouth will need its own warning

Grace had been out and about pretty much all day. She hadn't bothered to leave a note for Trudy - they weren't each others' babysitter after all - so, she had to admit she was a little surprised to walk into a shop and find Trudy. Surprised, though she shouldn't have been. Having ground her latest cigarette into the ground a moment before entering, her fingers itched for something to do, but she kept them close, arms folded over her chest.

"Doors to other worlds, doors to this one. Maybe one of them will actually have plants I can look at," she complained, loud enough for anyone in the store to hear. "This plastic crap is bullshit."

SWEEEEET :D

Trudy was a little shocked by the kind offer of the stranger, more so by the kindness and sincerity in the voice rather than the sudden offer of friendship. "Well, Mom said I shouldn't talk to strangers. But if we're friends, that shouldn't be a problem," she paused, extending a handshake, "Pilot Trudy Chacon. She said I also shouldn't fly planes for a living, but I'm not one to follow her advice all the time."

Even before the handshake could be completed, she looked up to see an old friend come into the store in typical fashion (i.e. she practically owned the place). "Hey there! Making sure I play well with the others?" she said excitedly, "See? I'm already making friends."

"As for the strange doors, Mom never said anything about that. I say go for it."

sorry, forgot to track DX

Grace offered a smirk to Trudy at that, making her way over and giving the woman Trudy was speaking to a quick glance over. She was pretty sure she'd never seen the woman before, in Avatar or human form, but at least she arrived in time to hear her name. Ziva. Grace filed it away.

"Dr. Grace Augustine," she answered, though she didn't offer a handshake right away. If Ziva wanted one, she'd spare one, but Grace's methods of work didn't always run the same way as politeness, especially when she was dealing with strangers in this strange world.

"I never doubted your ability to make friends," Grace shot back at Trudy. Really, it was her own that was the trouble-maker. Grace tended to make enemies or work allies, not friends. Jake and the people rooted deepest in the Avatar Program were the exceptions. Plus the Na'vi she'd taught for so long.

Her gaze returned to Ziva for a moment, but her words were directed at Trudy. "I guess the question is, do I bring out the tank or go as I am?" Bringing out the tank would require an extra stop back at the apartment and Grace was kind of not in the mood to deal with that. "I'd say I'm more inclined to go as is. I doubt the plants are any worse on people here."

With her mind apparently made up, Grace turned to look around again. Clearly, that subject of conversation was done in her mind.

/headpats, just glad to be working with you again <3

Trudy knew instantly of the "tank" that Grace had referred to. It was easy enough to say yes to it, but at the same time, she didn't want to risk being alone with this Ziva character in the worst case scenario. Trudy was a trusting person, but having only one other person to be on the look out in the pilgrimage to a new land didn't match up well to her sense of character preservation.

"Three able bodied women like us ought to do," she said with a slight shake of the head. A grin grew and she turned back again to the new friend. "Wouldn't you agree, Agent David?" she mused sardonically.

[identity profile] samplethesoul.livejournal.com 2010-08-23 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Grace smirked at Trudy's response. At least she understood what was at stake with Big Blue. One day, Grace would probably have to explain the whole thing to her, but for now they were pretty much on the same terms with the Avatar.

"Three able-bodied women it is," she agreed. "So, did you guys plan the whole trip already or do I get a say in it?"

[identity profile] righteouspilot.livejournal.com 2010-08-24 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Noting the confusion on Ziva's face, Trudy put a hand on her shoulder and commented, "A nickname for our friend's secret weapon. It's a long story." She remembered being confused the first time she saw a Na'vi, or even an avatar for that matter. It was only common courtesy for a woman who seemed to be behind her own times to not be left in the dark about it. "I'll explain later, I promise," she said with some gentleness in her voice. She hated having to associate with other women like the gossipy classmates when she was growing up, but a little alternative girl talk tickled her sense of individuality.

"I think we had just started talking about it. Not much to plan besides who's coming, is there?" she asked.

[identity profile] samplethesoul.livejournal.com 2010-08-27 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not something I talk about much, but we might make an exception if we get out of this intact," Grace informed the both of them, though she was starting to like this other girl. She didn't talk needlessly and she wasn't stupid. Or didn't seem to be so far.

"No one else I care to drag along," she admitted after a few moments. "So, what are we waiting for? Let's get moving towards that 'other world.'"

Of course, Grace was far less able to protect herself than either of the others, but she was at least good for company.

[identity profile] righteouspilot.livejournal.com 2010-08-27 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Trudy hooked both of her arms into Grace and Ziva's own. "Let's go, ladies," she said enthusiastically. She immediately set a brisk walking pace that gave enough attitude to onlookers to let them know they were visitors who were proud to go against the grain.

"So, Ziva, what'd you do before you came here?" she asked with a raised brow. "No worries about government clearance here. I can at least tell you that I was a pilot and Grace is a genius scientist."

[identity profile] samplethesoul.livejournal.com 2010-09-01 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Grace glanced over at Trudy with her eyes raised when her pilot took her arm, but she didn't pull away immediately. Instead, she waited a few steps before pulling out. At least she didn't pull out a cigarette until they were well outside the shop.

Ziva's response caused Grace to glance back at Trudy with her eyebrows raised. She'd gone twenty years without hearing anyone say they'd worked in Washington, or, hell, anywhere on Earth. She took a deep drag of the cigarette and blew it out.

"I can't remember the last time I heard someone say they worked in Washington."

[identity profile] righteouspilot.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
The mention of Washington and an agency known as NCIS was surprising to Trudy as well. "Washington? Can't even imagine what it'd look like in the 2150's," she said, failing to consider that Ziva may be in for a new degree of countershock given that she was from well before the RDA's research position on Pandora.

"A field agent, huh? You look a little too pretty for being the James Bond type. But then again, I shouldn't judge," she said with a smirk.

Walking with Grace and this Ziva character put her at ease over the drama that had escalated around Paixao. Trudy appreciated the value of good company.

[identity profile] righteouspilot.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Trudy looked over Ziva's enthusiasm for the conversation and was surprised the beautiful woman hadn't become victimized by the culture shock. There was something about Ziva's gait, the way she carried herself seemed to exude layers upon layers of sensual intimidation. It was though she could just as easily melt a man where he stood as shoot him from a mile away with a sniper rifle. It was appealing, to say the least.

"Well, shall we head out?" Trudy said as the church approached them from the horizon.

sob I missed this somehow

[identity profile] samplethesoul.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"2010?" Grace asked incredulously. "Sounds like someone's living in the past."

Trudy distracted her momentarily and the scientist nodded. "Lead on, pilot."
