They attract the darkness in people's hearts...

Character(s): Dahlia Hawthorne and anyone else.
Content: Dahlia is being attacked by the Heartless.
Setting: Somewhere near the Wild Ginger.
Time: Evening
Warnings: Violence.

What were those......things?! Those shadows....with long, deadly sharp claws and glowing menacing eyes? Were these the shadows she kept hearing about?

Well, whatever they were, they had given her cut on her shoulder and Dahlia was now fleeing for her life. She may have successfully murdered two people, but Dahlia was still a normal human being. There was no way she could fight these creatures back. And so she was running as fast as she could, the Heartless hot on her tail. There was no way....no way she could go back to the underworld now! Not until she was sure Maya Fey was still in her grave!

Unfortunately for her, before she knew it, she had reached a dead end. She was backed into the corner of an alleyway with no way to turn. The Heartless began to creep slowly towards her, eyes fixed on her and her heart...

"G-get away from me..." she stuttered, holding her parasol right in front of her.

Ever since the meeting with the other Cloud, things were weighing heavier than usual on the young man's heart. He hadn't eaten much in the substantial department in the last few days, and only half-heartedly bit into the apple that he tossed up and down as he traveled along. He wasn't quite sure where he was going, but without Fenrir around, he felt the need to just... get out and go. Somewhere. Anywhere. Standing still or staying in one place for too long... it gave him too many chances for his thoughts to get the better of him.

Looking at the bite marks in the fruit, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Those shadow monsters. Heartless? Wasn't that what they were called?

Fueled by the other Cloud's explanation of darkness, and of the Sephiroth he knew, Cloud tossed away his snack, reaching backwards and grabbing his sword. He darted ahead in their direction, finally coming to an alley where they were gathering...

Pausing, he took a small step forward, intending to study them for a moment, until... "G-get away from me..."

A woman's voice?

Without even thinking twice, Cloud cleaved his blade forward, back, down, then into a side slash. The creatures vanished without much effort, and as they disappeared, they revealed an... umbrella?

The only indication of his heavy breaths was thanks to his shoulders, which heaved up and down. "Are you all right?" he asked, his tone measured.

i know you're still on hiatus but i just figured i'd put this here <3

The blond relaxed, standing up straight again, and replacing his sword to its resting place, fastened to its holster on his back. He was quiet for a moment, as though deciding whether or not to reveal his identity. As he studied the woman, he frowned inwardly at himself. Obviously, she wasn't a threat. Why would he even hesitate?

"Cloud," he stated matter-of-factly.

Turning as though to leave, he paused, and looked over his shoulder at the red head. "You should be careful. Monsters like these won't hesitate to gang up on whoever they set their sights on."
