As Promised [Active]
Character(s): Rozalin and Adell
Content: The two meet up.
Setting: Central Station
Time: Uh... yes. Evening?
Warnings: Tsundere-ness. :Db
She'd been wanting him to show up for a long time, but had almost begun to give up hope. And then... there he was. It had been a rather unexpected surprise. Other than a lack of memory of the previous visit, he seemed to be fine, which was a relief. While many had suggested he'd simply gone home, she hadn't been sure what to think. That was moot now. He was here, so all was well. Well, as well as things could ever be here, rather.
Rozalin had probably arrived a little early, but that was to be expected since she'd chosen the center of the city for not simply being a very easy meeting location; it also was actually very close to the hotel she'd been staying at all this time. It had only been a short walk to the large central station from there. She hadn't been about to walk half across the city if she hadn't had to, after all.
Settling on a bench outside the station, she waited, trying to be patient, but nerves were making her stomach flutter. It was a ridiculous thing to feel. It was simply Adell she was meeting, after all, and yet there they were, fluttering in her stomach like she'd swallowed butterflies. It had been some time since she'd seen him... too long, but still! She wasn't sure why she was nervous.
The demon tried to concentrate instead on straightening and smoothing out her dress a little. Rozalin hadn't done laundry once in her life, but inevitably she'd had to attempt to clean her own clothes. They always seemed to look rumpled when she did and then there was the drop into the ocean the other day; her gown was almost utterly crumpled at this point. She was most embarrassed, and now Adell was going to see her like this... But would he honestly even notice? 'No, of course not!' she chided herself.
That idiot. He needed to do was hurry up, so she'd stop thinking about foolish things. Clearly this was his fault, like so many other things clearly were.

Adell wasn't sure what he was thinking or feeling about Rozalin at the minute. He knew he was glad that she was in this place with him, but he wasn't sure why. He thought it was because it would be nice to see a familiar face in this mysterious location, or because he promised to protect her. But...there was something more behind it.
He shook his head. No time to be thinking about this now. Adell saw Rozalin in the distance, and jogged towards her. When he got near, he stopped and smiled at her. "Hey." He said. "Didn't keep you waiting too long, right?"
no subject
While for him it was, what? Hours? Since he'd last seen her, she hadn't seen him in... months. Many, many months. She'd lost track at this point of just how long it had been. Emotions she hadn't expected or knew how to really describe bubbled up from her stomach. "A-Adell!" she replied, sounding far more emotional than she would have preferred.
She paused a brief moment, attempting to collect herself a little. "N-no... not too long," Rozalin replied, a little awkwardly, but returning his smile with a faint one of her own.
Rozalin had come to accept that she missed him, along with his family and even that ridiculously small house they all lived in. Seeing him here now, however, made her realize more than anything before just exactly how much. It was almost overwhelming. Of course, she was doing her best to hide this fact.
"O-of course, if you'd been too much longer, I would have had reason to complain," she quickly added.
no subject
He had to admit, though. He was glad she was smiling. And then she went back to the old Rozalin he knew. He nodded and smiled at her again. "Of course." He sat down on the bench. And wasn't really sure what to do next, so he went with what came naturally. "I'm really sorry I couldn't be here. How'd you get hurt? Are you sure you're ok?"
no subject
"Getting dropped into the ocean was the most... troublesome situation I've been in, I would say," she concluded, settling onto the edge of the bench. "So, I'm... ...I'm fine."
Mostly, at any rate.
no subject
Adell blinked. "I've been meaning to ask about that. How, exactly, did you get dropped into the ocean? And...why did you mean by "disappeared"? I haven't been here before..." He furrowed his brow and crossed his arms. "You sure it wasn't an imposter?"
no subject
She left it at that, changing subjects promptly. "Of course it wasn't an impostor!" she said, insistently. "I know you well enough to know that. It was you."
Rozalin then sighed softly, faintly shrugging her shoulders as she folded her arms to her chest. "You probably just don't remember. I've heard of this... people just vanish one day and then occasionally they return. Sometimes they remember being here, but more often than not, they don't, which would seem to be your case."
no subject
Adell took in this new information and briefly pondered what it meant. People showing up in this new world with no rhyme or reason to it. People disappearing, and then re-appearing with no memories of being here. Adell did not like what this meant. "This...is way too much. We really need to find a way back home. I'm sure my family waiting, and I don't wanna keep them too long."
no subject
"Well, no one has found an actual way to leave on purpose, except, well..." she said, trailing off a moment as she tried to figure out where to begin.
"Supposedly this place isn't what it appears to be, but rather exists in a castle. It's a bit unbelievable, but I've been to a few of the other floors," Rozalin explained to Adell the best she could, still avoiding the whole explaining the near drowning thing. "Apparently, if we can get to the top floor, we'll find a way home. I don't know that it's true, but it's really all we've had to go on."
Which was why she'd tried to leave Paixao. After months of waiting, she'd decided she needed to go on herself, but the dunking back to Paixao had been a pretty big blow to her determination. If Adell hadn't appeared she wasn't sure what she would have done now.
