Somewhere Out There [Active]
Character(s): Wolf, Zuko
Content: Zuko wanting to know if there is a way out of Paixao, explores with Wolf at St. Destino, they eventually will discover Halloween Town.
Setting: It starts off in the Elysian Fields to St. Destino, then into Halloween Town
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: None Yet
Wolf waited by the Niflheim gate, he wanted to know if there was a possible way out of Paixao himself. He wanted make sure Virginia was ok, and didn’t want her to be any type of trouble. Even if she doesn’t love him, it still meant the world to him to know if she’s all right. Wolf folded his arms and lingered near the Elysian Fields by the gate. He looked out in the fields, out there was some kind of unknown smell. It was something that he definitely wanted to check out. Hopefully, it was something that could help him and his plan to eventually get out of this place.
Unfortunately, that also meant that the Queen would try to track Wolf down. However, as long as it isn’t a mirror that leads to an outside world, then he should be ok. The last thing he would want is to face that terrible woman again. It’s both a pain and a gift that he’s away from home. However, Wolf knows he can’t stay here for long, not while Virginia might still be in danger. He just continued his gaze out in the fields while he waited for Zuko to join him.

He had them now, anyway, that was the important part. Leaving the city without weapons didn't sound like a very good idea to him, since everyone talked about how dangerous everything was supposed to be out there. The gate in the West was a good distance from the shop, and he'd gone in right after talking to the guy on the journals, so it took a while for Zuko to get there.
Now he had to keep an eye out for the person he was looking for...easier said than done, in these crowds. He thought for a moment of using firebending to clear the space, but that would probably make the guy he was meeting up with just as scared as everyone else. Hopefully the prince's scar would make him easy to pick out, though he hadn't told Wolf anything about it...

The scruffy man made his way through the traffic of people, “Grrrf, crowded today isn’t it? We met on the journals right?” He lifted his head to Zuko to follow toward the Niflheim gate, he grinned. It’s nice to meet someone new every once in a while. Glancing back, Wolf spoke, “By the way, I’m Wolf. What’s your name?”

"I'm Zuko. And yes, we did. Let's get going, I don't want to stay in this stupid dome any longer than I have to." Without waiting for Wolf to respond, Zuko went to the gate, easily making his way through the crowd now that he didn't have to worry about finding someone. The swords on his back, and the scar on his face, made the whole ordeal much easier.

As they walked passed the gates, Wolf sniffed and double-checked to make sure they weren’t being followed and then proceeded into the fields with Zuko. When he managed to walk close enough to talk he spoke, “So Zuko is it? How long have you been kept here?” Wolf thought he’d make some idle conversation. If this guy isn’t the talkative type that’s fine, but he doesn’t mind getting to know him at least a little bit.
no subject
"What about you?" He didn't look at Wolf, or even slow down, as he talked. His eyes were trained directly forward, taking in everything in front of him in the fields. So far, it was all still, and not a sound was out of place. That only served to worry him.

That’s when the idea started to make Wolf realize something that was slightly horrible. The full moon was going to rise next week, that’s when all the nasty, awful things will happen. He winced at the thought and looked away from Zuko as they walked through the field. What will he do when the moon will rise? There are animals here, but there aren’t any sheep or chickens. Wolf hopes they will have plenty of supply of meat, because he’d dread to think of what will happen when he reaches his breaking point.
The scruffy man gave a sigh, and decided to just focus on reaching St. Destino, he spoke rather unconsciously, “The sooner we find a place out of here the better. I don't think it’ll be good for me to stay here any longer.” Wolf glanced at Zuko, he’s probably just as determined as he is, but his motive was probably much more different. He shrugged, “I guess you got a pretty good reason to leave this place too?”

Surprisingly, there were still no signs of anything out here other than them. They should have been getting near that St. Destino place by now, too, though Zuko couldn't see anything of it just yet. It was hard to tell out here though, everything looked the same until you were a few feet away from it.

No one was inside the old abandoned church, Wolf’s eyes shifted as he looked around the place from the entrance. He glared and noticed a stairway that led somewhere. He sniffed inside, there wasn’t anyone, but he smelt something different by the upstairs staircases. Wolf turned around to Zuko and waved for him to come close. He then pointed up the stairs, “There’s no one around, but there’s something off about the upstairs. It smells like something much different from here.”

The prince kept his footsteps silent and his hands on his swords as they neared the door. His eyes were open wide, and darted quickly around, constantly scanning for signs of anything that was coming toward them. The last thing Zuko wanted was to get ambushed from behind. He didn't speak a word as he walked carefully backwards inside the door, closing it as well as its damaged hinges would allow. It did nothing to make him less tense that there was a door halfway off its frame between them and the outside.
"Let's go upstairs, then. The sooner we're out of this place, the better."

Once they reached the Balcony, Wolf’s eyes lit, they were getting closer. He walked a little bit faster, in almost a gasp he spoke out to Zuko, “It’s this way!”
Following the scent, Wolf went through the balcony pretty quickly, knowing Zuko was just close behind him. He detected the smell was just past the storage closet. He opened the door, and looked inside, he saw a room with just a door inside. However, that door had the scent he was looking for. Wolf approached the door. Almost hypnotically he walked across to open it. The other side smelt, of something like salt water and sand.
It was an island of some sort. Wolf looked around and didn’t seem surprised, because it was what he thought he smelled. He looked around and stood in the doorway. Looking at Zuko he lifted his eyebrow, “Well, this is different.”
no subject
"'Different' isn't exactly the word I'd use." More like unbelievable. "What kind of crazy place is this?" Not only had everyone shown up here without warning, there was this island where there should have only been another room.

“So, if there is a portal from Paixao that led to here, there is a chance there might more portals somewhere,” The scruffy man sniffed and took a bite out of the fruit, “There might even be one here.” Wolf licked his fingers from the fruit. It was sweet, but kinda sticky. He glanced around, trying to think of where to look first. He sniffed the air, trying to indicate anything that seemed different.

The frustrated prince almost growled, then pushed his way past Wolf. "Don't eat anything else until you find some way to test it." There wasn't anything very special that he could see anywhere on the island, blinding sunshine aside. The place was teeming with plantlife, and he could see fish out in the ocean water and birds overhead, but there wasn't another person in sight.
"This place is creepy," he muttered to himself.

Following Zuko, he thought about that time he smacked the apple out of Tony’s grip for the same reason. Geeze, what’s with him today, does he want to die? Yet again, no one really misses him back home at the moment.
Wolf paused, his mind is obviously not thinking straight. Nope, it’d definitely gone for the day. Maybe he should stop thinking about death for a second, or anything else depressing for the moment... Virgi-NO WOLF, YOU’RE DOING IT AGAIN. He started muttering to himself, “Oooooh, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid! Grrrrwf!”
Wolf looked up for a moment, realizing Zuko was a bit ahead of him. He walked faster to keep up. Maybe, he just has a lot on his mind, it can’t be as bad as he think it is, can it? The scruffy man now a bit quiet with his own thoughts didn’t feel like looking at Zuko for the moment. Wolf glanced around, with a nod, “Yea… well it’s not so bad, at least there aren’t any swamp witches around.”

A long shot, but one that at least made some sense. If this was supposed to be a castle with a bunch of floors, then maybe that door had led them to another floor, and Paixao was on a different one from this sunny island. "We should start looking for one, maybe we can go further in to the castle that way."
no subject
The scruffy man stood for a moment to clear his mind. He closed his eyes, trying to stay in touch with his senses. Breathing in the salty air, Wolf tried to associate his surroundings and see if there was anything that seemed off. There was a moment, and then he thought there was something like a cave. That’s not terribly unusual, but worth looking into.
Wolf looked over near the waterfall, it was coming from around there. “Grrrf, Hey Zuko!” He pointed it out, “How about we start over there? I think there maybe something behind that waterfall.”
no subject
Not that the prince was complaining. The easier this was...and the faster, the better. If they were stupid enough to put the next door in such an easily found spot, it only made things quicker.
"How can you tell there's something there, anyway?"
no subject
Knocking away the branches, Wolf entered the cave inside. He glared around sniffing a bit. He can tell, that there were some people who were here previously. Glancing up, there was a door. He made a short bark, and ran over to it, “Hey! Do ya think this is it? I’m pretty sure a door in the middle of a cave seems rather off, don’t ya think?”
no subject
Scrawled all over the cave walls were chalk drawings that looked like they were drawn by little kids. They were cute enough, but mostly just random scribbles. This island must have been where all the children played...assuming it was real. Zuko was having a lot of trouble believing that at this point.
"Yeah, especially a door that looks exactly the same as the one we came through to get here."
no subject
Approaching the door, Wolf opened it. There revealed the hallway, he gave a sigh and walked through it, then waved at Zuko to follow. Wolf grumbled something about mirrors being easier to travel through until he reached the end toward the other door. Inside revealed the Hinterlands. Wolf stood there for a minute, blinking, nah it can’t be. A forest? Here?
Entering into the woods Wolf looked around in amazement. He then looked at the forest then back at the hallway in confusion. Wolf took noticed of all the different markings on the trees, each showing a different representation of each holiday. He scratched his head and growled in frustration, “So… the door from Paixao leads to an island, that now leads to a forest? Grrrf, what’s next? A castle?”
