Flirting Practice with a Redhead [Complete]
Character(s): Roxas and Timon
Content: ICE CREAM~!
Setting: Cafe Ersesat near Timon and Vyers' apartment
Time: Immediately after this thread
Warnings:Hopefully none ...Roxas gets broken.
"Come on Timon!" Roxas called, trying to get the meerkat to speed up. He was in a good mood after talking with Vyers, and the Hakuna Matata motto was ringing in his head, loud and clear. There was a broad, cheerful smile on the boy's face, and the fake light of the domes made him look brighter than normal. Or...maybe that was something he was doing himself.
Without warning, Roxas broke into a run, excited and impatient. "I'll meet you there, Timon!" he yelled back to his guardian, but a few seconds later he realized that Timon would probably get mad at him for going so far ahead. He stopped, hunched over and panting as he caught his breath. He looked back to watch the meerkat catch up to him, and mentally prepared himself for Timon's scolding.

Timon watched the Nobody race further ahead of him, a wave of panic quickly falling over him. “Hey, wait a minute! Roxas, slow down. I can’t keep up!” The last thing he needed was to lose Roxas, especially when the Organization was likely out looking for him. He ran after the boy, panting heavily from exhaustion. With all the running Roxas was making him do today would likely lead to the most exercise the meerkat had ever done. That didn’t make Timon like it any more. Running really wasn’t his sort of thing. Any guess as to why it wasn’t would probably be right.
When he finally managed to catch up with Roxas, the meerkat simply pointed at him, far too out of breath to speak right away. Only after he managed to catch his breath could he choke out a sentence. “No… I’ll… Meet you there!”
With that, Timon broke back into a run toward the ice cream stand. He knew Roxas would still win their race but at least he could say he had been close.
Oh, he was he ever going to regret this in the morning.

He was completely out of breath when he finally reached the stall, and it was taking a lot of his energy just to stay on his feet. He put a hand against the wall, panting heavily. Something in the back of his mind nagged him that this was familiar, but he wasn't going to worry about it right now. What difference did his past make, when he had Timon and Simba now? And Vyers...kind of...and Naminé? His new family was more important than those faint hints of his old memories.

Once in the meerkat managed to successfully crawl his way over to Roxas’ feet, he simply allowed himself collapse onto the ground. He held up a paw, as though to silently assure the Nobody he was alright before he waved toward the ice cream stall. The blonde could get their salty treats while he laid there. Hopefully in the time it would take him to get their ice cream he would be able to catch his breath again. To carry on a conversation with simply gestures alone was too difficult, especially when he could be bothered to even stand up.

"Two, please," he said to the tender, handing over the leafs. He was handed two bars the same size, almost sea blue in color, and walked back to Timon patiently.
"Let's find a bench to sit on." Benches were good, because the meerkat could sit on the back and be much closer to head height. That meant less neck strain on either of them.

Proving to still have some strength left in him, he walked over to the nearest bench and jumped up onto it. Without a pause, he continued to climb the benches backrest until he reached the top and seated himself. A little satisfied sigh escaped him before he spoke. “Ah, now this is more like it! Not a bad view either. I mean, as good as a view gets around here.” He glanced over at Roxas, then the ice cream treats in his hand. “Which one you think is the lucky winner?”
no subject
"Get real!" he answered Timon, grinning. "Like I would hand the winning stick over to you." Then he blinked, looking completely lost for a moment. That...didn't quite sound normal. But there was ice cream to eat, what did it matter?
He took a small bite of the bar that he wasn't holding out to Timon, but then he was lost in thought. Xion said he used to do this all the time, eating ice cream with his friends...

He closed his eyes and swallowed the forming lump in his throat before he took a bite of his ice cream. Unlike Roxas, Timon took a large and foolish bite. And, as anyone could predict, the consequence was most unpleasant. The meerkat stuck his tongue out in repulse and face scrunched up as though he had just eaten something sour. A shudder worked its way up his spine and sound of disgust escaped his lips.
"Eeeuugh! I don't think I'll ever get what you find appealing about these things." he said, his attention turned back to the distant Roxas.

Something about the "too salty" comment was tugging at the back of his mind, but just like everything else that did that to him Roxas found it wasn't actually pulling his thoughts anywhere. Or maybe it was that there was nowhere for his thoughts to be pulled to.
no subject
"But I'm hungry!" he whined. "I shouldn't have to eat it slowly. I need it in me n- Aaaaagggghhhh!" Suddenly the meerkat threw his head back and clutched it with his paw. In the process he nearly dropped his ice cream which he struggled to keep hold of with his other paw. He winced, struggling momentarily to think of how to explain what he was feeling. There was some sort of term for it that Roxas had mentioned before... Brain cold? Brain iced? "Ack! Brain freeze!" he blurted when it finally occurred to him, another scream following.
no subject
He'd told Timon a bunch of times not to do that, but he always did anyway. It was almost as bad with Simba, too. Xion was really the only one of them who was ever very smart about eating it, but she used to eat it with Roxas a lot before anyway.

No food could conquer him.
... Except for maybe chocolate. But other than that, there was no food too hot or too cold, too spicy or too mild, to salty or bland for The Great Timon. His expression grew sour once again as the taste of the ice cream he had just consumed hit him. "Mmm... Delicious." he choked out.
no subject
Brain freeze was bad enough on its own, but brain freeze with something so salty was just miserable. Roxas could remember that much, though he'd never done it to himself. He sat back down and took another small bite of his own ice cream. It was still in his mouth when he remembered what Vyers had told him to do to practice with talking to girls.
How was he supposed to say that kind of stuff to Timon, though? He looked at the meerkat, and tried to think of something to compliment. "Your hair...is a nice shade of red..." he finally said after a long silence. He couldn't have sounded more awkward if his life depended on it.
no subject
He turned back to Roxas at the mention of his hair, appearing to no longer feel the effects of his last brain freeze. "Hu? My hair...?" The meerkats eyes traveled up to his head. He knew he could not see his hair but felt the need to look regardless. "Uh, thanks!" Timon grinned, having clearly enjoyed the compliment. Poor Roxas likely had no idea how greatly he would inflate the meerkats ego by flirting with him. That was, of course, until Timon realized what the boy was doing. But would likely be awhile. "I am pretty gorgeous. I'm a natural redhead, you know."
no subject
What was it Vyers had been trying to tell him about what things to compliment? Roxas wracked his brain, but now that he was in the middle of it he couldn't think of anything. This was a lot harder than Vyers had made it sound, that was for sure. The demon should've looked for a better pupil...

"They are pretty nice, aren't they?" Timon twisted the over the best he could without losing his balance and looked and his back. "Best looking stripes in my family. Well, aside from Ma's. Mine are pretty close though. Uncle Max's stripes were all over the place, kinda like Dad's. Big, small, fat, skinny... No consistency. Not to mention how dark they were. They just looked weird." He nodded before looking back at Roxas.
no subject
But if that was the case, what was the point in Vyers telling Roxas to practice with Timon? Why not someone who'd be able to give him some tips? ...Why didn't Vyers just let Roxas practice with him instead?
no subject
"Really?" he asked, not sounding particularly convinced. "You like my tail? Why, what do you like about it?"

A grin slowly found itself across the meerkats features again while he looked at Roxas."Oh, I see what's going on here." he began. "You wish you were as great as me, don't you? Well, let me tell you, being a meerkat does not award greatness. You have to get it on your own! Besides, you're too... Pink to be a meerkat."
no subject
"Oh...uh...yeah...you're really great." He couldn't even look at Timon as he said it. The nagging question of why he was still trying was getting louder with each passing second. He was pretty sure he was going to stop after this, no matter what Timon said next. Roxas was starting to get really nervous, and it was only Timon. He'd just have to tell Vyers he was no good at this sort of thing...
no subject
He looked seriously at Roxas and watched him carefully for his reaction to his next question. "What's going on here? Something ain't right. I'm gettin' some weird vibes here. These whiskers aren't for nothing, you know."
no subject
Maybe Roxas was just...doing it wrong?

With that, the meerkat threw his ice cream bar onto the ground and jumped down from the bench. "You can find your own way home!" He said, leaving no room for argument before he stormed off. "You might not have feelings but I do!"
