Flirting Practice with a Redhead [Complete]

Character(s): Roxas and Timon
Content: ICE CREAM~!
Setting: Cafe Ersesat near Timon and Vyers' apartment
Time: Immediately after this thread
Warnings: Hopefully none ...Roxas gets broken.

"Come on Timon!" Roxas called, trying to get the meerkat to speed up. He was in a good mood after talking with Vyers, and the Hakuna Matata motto was ringing in his head, loud and clear. There was a broad, cheerful smile on the boy's face, and the fake light of the domes made him look brighter than normal. Or...maybe that was something he was doing himself.

Without warning, Roxas broke into a run, excited and impatient. "I'll meet you there, Timon!" he yelled back to his guardian, but a few seconds later he realized that Timon would probably get mad at him for going so far ahead. He stopped, hunched over and panting as he caught his breath. He looked back to watch the meerkat catch up to him, and mentally prepared himself for Timon's scolding.

“I’m hurryin’, I’m hurryin’.” Timon called after the boy. “Yeesh! Keep yer tail on. The ice cream ain’t goin’ anywhere.” What the big rush was remained a mystery to the meerkat. The ice cream wouldn’t taste any different now than it would if they got it a few minutes later. He groaned. Kids, oi. He couldn’t remember Simba being any different. Well, other than the fact he insisted on looking for trouble. Climbing dangerously high trees, riding down waterfalls, and overall scaring him to death every chance he got. Thankfully Roxas wasn’t like that and for good reason too. Timon wasn’t sure his heart could handle much more of that sort of excitement. Speaking of which…

Timon watched the Nobody race further ahead of him, a wave of panic quickly falling over him. “Hey, wait a minute! Roxas, slow down. I can’t keep up!” The last thing he needed was to lose Roxas, especially when the Organization was likely out looking for him. He ran after the boy, panting heavily from exhaustion. With all the running Roxas was making him do today would likely lead to the most exercise the meerkat had ever done. That didn’t make Timon like it any more. Running really wasn’t his sort of thing. Any guess as to why it wasn’t would probably be right.

When he finally managed to catch up with Roxas, the meerkat simply pointed at him, far too out of breath to speak right away. Only after he managed to catch his breath could he choke out a sentence. “No… I’ll… Meet you there!”

With that, Timon broke back into a run toward the ice cream stand. He knew Roxas would still win their race but at least he could say he had been close.

Oh, he was he ever going to regret this in the morning.

If Roxas had thought it had taken Timon awhile to catch up before he would find after his last burst of energy it would take twice as long. It was several minutes before the meerkat finally caught up, their race proving to be a rather large error in judgment on Timon’s part. He had not realized the Nobody could move so quickly, although he could still argue he had not truly given it his all. After all, he had chosen to peruse with two legs opposed to four. It was a constant excuse he used on Simba, although the lion at this point surly saw through it. He had used it a lot over the past three years.

Once in the meerkat managed to successfully crawl his way over to Roxas’ feet, he simply allowed himself collapse onto the ground. He held up a paw, as though to silently assure the Nobody he was alright before he waved toward the ice cream stall. The blonde could get their salty treats while he laid there. Hopefully in the time it would take him to get their ice cream he would be able to catch his breath again. To carry on a conversation with simply gestures alone was too difficult, especially when he could be bothered to even stand up.

It had not been a lot of time, but somehow Timon managed to peel himself off the sidewalk and stand on his own before Roxas returned with their ice cream. The meerkat looked absolutely exhausted, hunched over and wheezing for breath, but still standing none the less. He looked up at Roxas and nodded at his suggestion. Sitting would be nice, there were no arguments there. “Good thinking, kid.”

Proving to still have some strength left in him, he walked over to the nearest bench and jumped up onto it. Without a pause, he continued to climb the benches backrest until he reached the top and seated himself. A little satisfied sigh escaped him before he spoke. “Ah, now this is more like it! Not a bad view either. I mean, as good as a view gets around here.” He glanced over at Roxas, then the ice cream treats in his hand. “Which one you think is the lucky winner?”

"I think you just did." The meerkat saucily replied. He held his ice cream bar firmly with both paws and looked it over thoughtfully. The size never once intimidated him but the taste? Timon's expression turned briefly into one of worry. He never did enjoy the taste of sea salt ice cream. It was far too salty for his liking. However, he would bear the horrid flavor, if only to win the prize he had boasted so greatly about. To have to eat something as vulgar as such ice cream the reward had to be something good. Unfortunately the meerkat was so focused on a material reward he had completely overlooked the rewarded time he had received with Roxas, Naminé and even Xion. He had grown far closer to the Nobodies than he had probably realized, Roxas especially. It was not all solely because of their excursions for ice cream but they had certainly helped. Sometimes he even forgot they were Nobodies.

He closed his eyes and swallowed the forming lump in his throat before he took a bite of his ice cream. Unlike Roxas, Timon took a large and foolish bite. And, as anyone could predict, the consequence was most unpleasant. The meerkat stuck his tongue out in repulse and face scrunched up as though he had just eaten something sour. A shudder worked its way up his spine and sound of disgust escaped his lips.

"Eeeuugh! I don't think I'll ever get what you find appealing about these things." he said, his attention turned back to the distant Roxas.

Timon looked unconvinced by Roxas' argument. The smaller bites he took of the ice cream bar the longer it would take to eat. He struggled enough with large bites, taking it slowly had to be even worse! And besides, the slower he ate the longer it would take for him to find out whether or not he had the winning stick. He shook his head at the thought. If what Roxas had tried to explain was that smaller bites made the treat more tolerable, the meerkat completely missed the point. Instead he simply scoffed, possibly offended by the boys laughter.

"But I'm hungry!" he whined. "I shouldn't have to eat it slowly. I need it in me n- Aaaaagggghhhh!" Suddenly the meerkat threw his head back and clutched it with his paw. In the process he nearly dropped his ice cream which he struggled to keep hold of with his other paw. He winced, struggling momentarily to think of how to explain what he was feeling. There was some sort of term for it that Roxas had mentioned before... Brain cold? Brain iced? "Ack! Brain freeze!" he blurted when it finally occurred to him, another scream following.

"No, I know what I'm doing!" the meerkat argued. "If anyone knows about eating, it's me!" He paused and sucked in through his teeth. His head failed to feel any different but he was not about to let that get in his way of finishing his ice cream. "I'm a professional. Just give me a minute." Timon massaged his head and surprisingly quickly his screams began to descend to a simple groan. Without leaving room for the Nobody to argue he took another large bite out of his ice cream bar at the next chance he got.

No food could conquer him.

... Except for maybe chocolate. But other than that, there was no food too hot or too cold, too spicy or too mild, to salty or bland for The Great Timon. His expression grew sour once again as the taste of the ice cream he had just consumed hit him. "Mmm... Delicious." he choked out.

Roxas was right, he would regret eating it so quickly. In fact, he was regretting it even before the Nobody had mentioned it. However, he had no intention of admitting such a thing anytime soon. Instead he would bear what he could and later, when they arrived back home, complain about his head hurting. With all his complaining, he likely would not be the only one whose head hurt but that was something they would deal with later. In the mean time, the meerkat would continue to scarf down all that he could manage before enduring yet a third brain freeze.

He turned back to Roxas at the mention of his hair, appearing to no longer feel the effects of his last brain freeze. "Hu? My hair...?" The meerkats eyes traveled up to his head. He knew he could not see his hair but felt the need to look regardless. "Uh, thanks!" Timon grinned, having clearly enjoyed the compliment. Poor Roxas likely had no idea how greatly he would inflate the meerkats ego by flirting with him. That was, of course, until Timon realized what the boy was doing. But would likely be awhile. "I am pretty gorgeous. I'm a natural redhead, you know."

His stripes? Well, that one was a bit odd but true. He did have himself some nice stripes. Five was a good number and they really helped show off his amazing figure. As far as he was concerned, they accented his hips and hopefully failed to make his butt look big. The meerkats grin grew wider at the thought. No one had really mentioned his stripes before. It was a nice change, especially when it was a compliment he had received about them.

"They are pretty nice, aren't they?" Timon twisted the over the best he could without losing his balance and looked and his back. "Best looking stripes in my family. Well, aside from Ma's. Mine are pretty close though. Uncle Max's stripes were all over the place, kinda like Dad's. Big, small, fat, skinny... No consistency. Not to mention how dark they were. They just looked weird." He nodded before looking back at Roxas.

Timon tilted his head to the side and shared a rather baffled look with Roxas. His tail too? He never got compliments on his tail. If anything, he had been told that it was too long. Although, to his knowledge, it was no longer than any other meerkats. His eyes traveled slowly from his tail and back to Roxas. Timon could understand the boy complimenting his hair and stripes but his tail? What was so special about that? What about his charming personality or dashing good looks? Oh! Or his fabulous singing voice? There were so many remarkable things about him the boy could compliment him on and yet he chose his tail. It struck the meerkat as a bit odd.

"Really?" he asked, not sounding particularly convinced. "You like my tail? Why, what do you like about it?"

Timon's expression failed to change at the boys response. Somehow, he found it hard to believe that Roxas found it as 'neat' as he had claimed. And he was all nervous all the sudden, why? It was not as though he had said anything to rile the Nobody up. In fact, all he had asked was a simple question. What was going on here, why was Roxas acting so strange and complimenting him? Not that Timon minded or anything. He was quite the specimen and deserved as much praise as he could get. Everything Roxas had said was true - except maybe the tail thing. Although, when he thought about it, his tail did work rather unique compared to other animals. If he wanted, he could always use it to hold himself up, as though it were an extra leg. How many animals could do that? Yet another reason as to why he was so great.

A grin slowly found itself across the meerkats features again while he looked at Roxas."Oh, I see what's going on here." he began. "You wish you were as great as me, don't you? Well, let me tell you, being a meerkat does not award greatness. You have to get it on your own! Besides, you're too... Pink to be a meerkat."

Now he couldn't compliment him to his face? What, was he ashamed? What was there to be ashamed of? After all, he was pretty great. Roxas had even said it himself. Maybe he was just embarrassed? Although, Timon did not really get that vibe from the boy. There was a sort of awkwardness though, as though Roxas had been forcing himself to say such things. Why, however, remaind a mystery to him. He had not been in need of cheering up nor a reminder of how amazing he was - although one was always nice anyway's.

He looked seriously at Roxas and watched him carefully for his reaction to his next question. "What's going on here? Something ain't right. I'm gettin' some weird vibes here. These whiskers aren't for nothing, you know."

"Vyers?!" He repeated in shock. All Roxas needed to say was the demons name for the meerkat to understand what had been going on. "Vyers is behind all this? Ugh, I should have known! You two have been plotting behind my back all this time, haven't you? Haven't you?!" Timon pointed angrily at the Nobody and continued to shout. He had no intention of hiding the betrayal he felt. The fact that Roxas had done such a thing, intentional or not, shocked him. "You think it's funny playin' with a guys hope like that?! Mocking me? Well you got another thing comin'!"

With that, the meerkat threw his ice cream bar onto the ground and jumped down from the bench. "You can find your own way home!" He said, leaving no room for argument before he stormed off. "You might not have feelings but I do!"
