Running Into Nobody [Active/Closed]

Character(s): Sora and Roxas.
Content: Sora and Roxas run into each other, literally! Hilarity ensues?
Setting: Somewhere between the Palazzo Townhomes and Cafe Ersesat
Time: Around lunchtime, Week 20
Warnings: None for now

Sora, being a teenage boy, had a tendency to sleep like a log. When he finally managed to crawl out of bed today it was about noon. Hadn't he promised Donald that he would have lunch with him today? Well, between the time it would take Sora to get ready and make it to the cafe he would be a lot later than he said he would have been there. So Sora made haste and hightailed it out of his apartment.

Though, in Sora's mad dash to the cafe, he didn't see the poor soul that was unfortunate enough to wander into his path fast enough to be able to stop fast enough and he collided with them.

Getting bumped into and hitting the ground was not what Roxas had been expecting when he'd decided to walk to the cafe. His shoulder was spared most of the impact thanks to quick reflexes he didn't know he had, but falling still hurt. He grunted a little as he stood back up, and glared at the guy who ran into him.

"Watch where...you're...going..." Roxas' voice trailed off as he studied the guy who'd knocked him over. "...Why do you look like me?" ...Not exactly the same, but...this guy looked way more like Roxas than he should have. They could have been twins...

"Who are you?" Roxas asked, staring at the boy suspiciously. "And how do you know my name?"

This was definitely worse than Rafiki. At least the baboon hadn't acted like he knew Roxas...

"...Sora?" Roxas was quiet for a second, trying to wrack his brain for any memories of this guy. But it was the same as Xion. Even though this "Sora" guy apparently knew him, Roxas couldn't remember even the smallest thing about him.

"Sorry...but I don't remember you..."

Roxas let his eyes fall. "...I don't know. I woke up on the beach a few weeks ago. I don't know what was going on, or why I can't remember..."

This was starting to make Roxas feel guilty, every time he met someone new. Especially when it was someone who recognized him...

"How do you know me?"

"...Yeah. That's what everyone's told me." Roxas kept staring at the ground. What Sora said next almost made him scowl.

"Why won't anyone tell me who I am?!" he shouted, unable to contain himself.

"It's complicated..." Roxas repeated. "...Right." He looked back at Sora, and if anything, looked almost guilty.

"Everyone keeps saying I need to get my memories back, but they won't tell me anything about who I was before I forgot. I mean...what if I'm better off like this? What if..." Roxas trailed off for a second, gaze falling to the cobblestone pavement for a moment.

"What if I'm happier now? If I forgot for a reason or something?"

"I haven't really met that many people. And I'm not supposed to be telling people who I am...something about the Organization." Roxas put his hand to his forehead.

"I don't even know who they are, but someone told me I used to be one of them. I have no idea what I even used to do." The boy kind of laughed at the notion, knowing that he used to have a job and couldn't remember even the tiniest thing about it. And then that those people would be searching for him...and he shouldn't be found? It was a little funny.

"And...I don't know if I'm happy. I don't know if I remember what "happy" is supposed to feel like. Or if I even knew in the first place. But I get to be with my friends all the time, and we eat ice cream together all the time. We laugh, and we make jokes, and I just try not to think about it.

The bad guys? But...what did that make Xion? And that Axel guy she'd wanted Roxas to meet? Were they all...the bad guys? His expression hardened.

"I didn't ask," he said shortly, starting to deny what Sora had just told him. "And even if I did, why should I believe you? All I know about you is your name."

He didn't care what Sora thought happy was.

"I don't want to. What's with you?" Roxas was becoming more interested in leaving than whatever this "Sora" guy had to say. What kind of person would say these kinds of things to someone they apparently used to know?

"Hakuna Matata," Roxas muttered under his breath, trying to calm down.

Roxas didn't speak as he walked past Sora, and avoided making eye contact. Once the blond's back was facing the other, he stopped for a moment.

Roxas didn't turn back around to talk. "If it's really that important...just let me have some fun for a while, all right?"
