This... Isn't France? [Complete]
Character(s): Lumiere and anyone who would like to meet him.
Content: Lumiere enters Paixao
Setting: Vanaheim Gate
Time: Week 20, morning
Warnings: None.
Lumiere peered down at the giant circle of scorched earth beneath him in shock. “Sacré bleu!” he cried out before quickly covering his mouth. He knew he had been mad, Cogsworth always good for getting his fire truly burning, but he couldn’t possibly have been responsible for this, could he? Had he hurt anyone? His eyes quickly searched the surrounding area to find that not only was no one thankfully hurt but this was not his Masters castle. This was not anything even close to it and certainly not the little town neighbouring the castle. He looked up at the large gate before him to find two fruitful trees and a line-up of people heading through it.
“Excusez-moi! Pardon me! Un mot, mademoiselle!” Lumiere called out, hoping to grab to attention of one of the individuals standing in line as he hopped toward it. In the end, however, he found himself ignored and forced to wait in line with the others until it was his turn for… Well, he wasn’t exactly sure what.
“Next!” The gatekeeper called out, looking down for only a moment to shuffle through their papers before they looked up again. With no one in sight, the citizen frowned. “… I said next!”
“Oui, Monsieur. I am down here!” A voice called from the ground. “Perhaps it would be better if I were to come around?” Confused, the citizen slowly leaned their head out the booth window and looked down to find a candlestick smiling at him in return. “Ah, there you are. I apologize for the inconvenience but I am afraid I am not all as tall these days as I once was. But, please, continue.”
There had been a lot of strange creatures that had passed through Paixao’s gates but never could this man recall an object. A talking object. The citizen stared at the candelabrum, scribbling off the page of their work and onto their desk. “... Your name?” he said after at least a minute of struggling to spit something out.
Unbothered by the man’s reaction, Lumiere chuckled. There were far worse reactions he could have had, he was sure. “I am Lumiere.” He said with a bow. “And you are?”
“Take this.” The man replied, ignoring the candelabrum’s question entirely. He dropped a small and rather curious looking device into Lumiere’s hold and quickly called out ‘next!’ before the maître d' had the chance to speak. The next person stepped forward and Lumiere was given no choice but to hop forward and into the city.
“Méprisable.” He said to himself before looking over the device the citizen had handed him. “Hm, a gift?”
