[Complete]
Character(s): Roxas and Timon (and anyone else who might be around XD)
Content: Roxas is starting to get frustrated with being kept in the dark about everything, and hopes Timon can help him.
Setting: Paixao Central Station
Time: Unknown
Warnings: Uh...Roxas is emo?
Roxas sat on the same bench as he had when he met Neirenn the week before, but this time he was in his street clothes. He had been okay with Neirenn knowing that he was in the Organization, if she were to find that out, but that was under orders. He couldn't let Timon know the same thing, unless the meerkat had already figured it out...or figured it out while they were talking.
He could only hope that Timon knew at least a little about Sora, or the Organization. Roxas didn't know why, but after talking to Riku his gut would wrench every time that Sora came up at all...and every time he looked at the Keyblade, too. The Nobody was so confused, and didn't have any way to find out what he wanted to know. If he told the Organization anything, they'd probably start watching him...and it would all be over, just as fast as it started. For all of Axel's talk of being "friends," Roxas knew that there would be no hesitation if Axel's orders changed.
A sort of gloom settled over the blond as he sat, and Shadows crowded around him, in the dark spaces where the strong lights didn't reach. They weren't quite so bold as when he'd fought them with Neirenn, and they stayed in the darkness that spawned them.

“Hey, kid!” he cried out when approaching the blonde. “Didn’t think you’d-”
Suddenly the rodent came to a halt. His eyes grew wide in alarm and wandered wildly around the area as though in search of something. Instead of continuing toward Roxas he began to step back, stumbling the first few steps. He knew that smell, that unmistakable and overpowering stench of darkness. This was no mere Heartless, it was one of them; Organization XIII. Timon didn’t know how they’d found him but somehow they did – unless he’d gone unnoticed somehow. Maybe they were just passing by? He couldn’t see anyone else but the Organization had always been tricky. He scrambled to find somewhere, anywhere to hide.
no subject
"Hey! Timon! What's wrong?" he shouted, standing up and starting to run toward the diminutive creature, to protect him if need be. He thought better of summoning the Keyblade, but his fingers twitched. He could only hope that Timon hadn't seen another member of the Organization.
no subject
Doing his best to catch his breath, he waited in silence. Had he lost them?
no subject
"Are you all right?" he asked, hoping the meerkat wouldn't dash over his shoulder and keep running, leaving Roxas right back where he started.
no subject
In absolute shock Timon finally opened his mouth. At first nothing came out but after a moment of gawking words formed. “Please, don’t hurt me!” he begged, regardless of how useless it was. “I’ll… I’ll do anything, anything you want! You name it. Consider it done!”
no subject
"It must really be better if I don't ever know what's going on." Something felt off, but Roxas ignored it.

Hesitant at first, the meerkat slowly poked his out of the mailbox to find that sure enough the boy had begun to walk away. He tilted his head to the side, listening to the blonde’s words in curiosity. Somehow he doubted the boy knew that he could still hear him. If he were a member of the Organization, why would he need to go to an outsider for answers? Why wouldn’t anyone tell him anything? Timon suspected this to be a trick, yet could not help but wonder if it wasn’t. This was certainly interested – though still absolutely terrifying for the fact it was Organization Thirteen. He narrowed his eyes at the boy. Now that he thought about, this boy reminded him of someone. Blonde hair, blue eyes, may or may not be working for the Organization… It was only on a whim the name came to mind.
“Roxas?”
no subject
Did...did Timon know him? Just like Riku had? A pleading look came to Roxas' eyes. "Do you know anything else about me?" A pause. "...Or about Sora?"
no subject
He’d take the chance.
“Lucky guess?” he sheepishly answered, shrugging after he had fully climbed out of the mailbox. “You’re the thirteenth member of the Organization, a group of Nobodies who search for ‘the key’ and the hearts of others. Whether or not you’re still with Organization is unclear but the fact that you’re different isn’t. I don’t know a lot about you but definitely about Sora and the rest of your fellow – er, or previous organization members. They’ve been keeping busy in the city.”
no subject
'Different' was a word Roxas had started to dislike. It was the Organization's excuse for everything. Roxas was "special," he was the only one with the Keyblade...he was the only one who wouldn't be told what was going on.
Then another thing Timon said hit home. "Wait...what do you mean 'still with the Organization?'" Riku hadn't said anything about Roxas actually leaving, only that eventually he'd meet Sora--this guy who he knew almost nothing about. What else hadn't been said?
no subject
With that said, a wave of relief came over him when the Oblivion vanished. A sigh escaped him. He went to lean against the wall, however completely missed and fell from the mailbox and onto the ground. In a wild scrabble he pulled himself from the ground and cleared his throat. As though nothing had happened, he casually dusted himself off, showing the slightest sign of embarrassment. Timon did notably shift away from the Nobody though. The fact that he had drawn his weapon proved to the meerkat that he was still dangerous. “As I was about to say, I’d tell you to ask Riku yourself but he hasn’t been around in some time. I can’t help you there.”
no subject
And then Timon rather comically fell out of the mailbox. Roxas felt himself smiling. "Why don't we go sit down?"
no subject
The meerkat turned back toward the bench the blonde had previously been seated on. “Now, what else did you want to know?” He asked as he gestured for Roxas to sit down. He had the feeling this would take awhile.
no subject
"I'm supposed to be 'connected' to Sora, but...I don't know anything about him."
no subject
With that said, he brought his paw up his chin and began to pace. “Well, we’ll start with the basics. Sora is a goofy looking kid with pointy hair and big feet. He carries some kinda stick like yours which he uses as a weapon. He came from the same world as the Organization, as well as Riku, Repliku, Mickey and Kairi. In heroic fashion he travelled world to world to defend it from darkness and the Organization which threatened it. Eventually he, Riku and Mickey got down the source and took down the entire Organization themselves.”

no subject
“Well, who’s to say being defeated means… Hu?” The rodent began, still incapable of completing his train of thought. He shrugged at the boy and smiled calmly. “It doesn’t have to. Besides, it’s not clear whether or not you’re with the Organization still at that point. If you weren’t, I don’t see any reason why they’d be after you. I mean, it’s not like you’d be a threat or anything.” Timon placed a paw caringly onto Roxas’ shoe as he continued to look up at him. “You can still change things.”
no subject
"How do you know that?" he asked, sounding every bit the angry, emotional teenager that he was convinced he wasn't.
no subject
A distance from the blonde once again, a result of his angry outburst, the rodent sighed. “Because opportunity in knocking so loud over here you can practically hear it from a watering hole away. Not to mention how you can always change both the present and the future. If Rafreaky were here he’d give you a break down of the whole thing but seeing as he’s not, and that he gives lousy advise anyway, I will gladly enlighten you."
no subject
He stood up off the bench, too tense for sitting down to be comfortable. He wiped his eyes with the back of a wrist, and looked down at the meerkat.
no subject
“Who will come after you?” Timon asked, tilting his head to the side in question. “The Organization? You just gotta learn to lay low for awhile. Disguise yourself. They can’t come for you if they don’t know where you are. I mean, you could easily pass as a citizen to any human. Are Nobodies really that different? ” The redhead paused. “Okay, maybe they are but that doesn’t mean they can’t be tricked either. Maybe you could do something different with your hair or wear a hat? It’s not like you guys can tell each other apart that easily… Can you?”
no subject
He thought for a minute, forgetting that Timon was there. Axel would be definitely be sent after him...the thought brought that same empty feeling he'd had when he mentioned Axel to Riku. Roxas didn't like that feeling at all. And Axel wouldn't hesitate, not for a second. Roxas' stomach fell to his knees, and he almost lurched forward with it. If the Organization was going to send someone, why did it have to be the one he was always partnered with?
All that...just to know who he really was. Leaving the Organizaiton, having to fight Axel, and probably more than that, too. Was it really going to be worth it?
no subject
“It’ll be hard, I know. But really, you’re better off without them. You don’t belong with them, you’re better than them. They’re just a bad influence on you. If worse comes to worse, you could just lie. I mean, who says you have to actually tell them you’re leaving, hu? What if you just left? You could say you’re working on a side project like your autobiography.”
no subject
"But if I leave..." I won't see Axel again. Roxas didn't finish the sentence out loud.
"I'll have to fight them sooner or later..." he whispered. Alone.
no subject
So much for getting out of all this.

"If I knew what they were doing here, I probably wouldn't want to leave..."
no subject
“You support what they’ve been doing?!” the redhead cried, waving his paws in the air franticly. “You think that’s okay? Are you out of your mind, kid? Why would you ever want to stay with them after all they’ve done, everything you’re planning to do?! I’ve seen and made some pretty bad choices in my life but nothing as stupid as this here. Do you even hear what you’re saying? Oi, you’re better than all this. You’re practically digging your own grave here!” He looked away from the boy and covered his face with a paw.
“… Don’t you control the Heartless?” he asked.
er -- i saw the thread was still open and couldn't resist... just ignore him -- he's eavesdropping!
The redhead smirked at that. He would have done the exact same thing himself.
But this was bad news, these little tête-à-têtes Roxas was so bent on having. If the Organization found out about this, no doubt they'd be furious. Marluxia had been hunted down like a dog, and, while Axel hated to admit it, that guy was pretty cunning.
Choosing to keep his position for a while longer, he leaned back into the bricks behind him, peering over in the direction of his friend.
no subject
"What am I supposed to do?" he whispered. Then he shook his head, and was quite suddenly much less emotional. "No, we don't control the Heartless. Apparently the stupid things will listen to just about anyone. That's why Maleficent's been controlling them."
He was glad for the brief chance to change the subject.
no subject
So, Heartless would obey anyone, hu? Did this include all Heartless or just the shadows that had been creeping around the city? He scratched his head at the thought. Did this mean he too could order the Heartless to do his bidding? The rodent wondered. “No kidding…” He replied thoughtfully. “Is that all Heartless or just shadows? And, if you know, is there anything else you’re controlling in the city?”
no subject
"Just the less Nobodies, but I'm not sure if they've ever been used, except to spy on one of our own. They'll stand out if you see them, they're silver and covered in zippers." Roxas was pretty sure that bit of knowledge wouldn't make any difference, especially since the Nobodies really hadn't even shown themselves to the people brought into the city.
no subject
“Just the Nobodies, hu?” The meerkat had his doubts but decided Roxas simply did not know of any higher power they controlled. Like he had said, the Organization did seem to keep him out of a lot of things. So far he didn’t seem to know really anything, something Timon had found more than surprising. “So I’m right after all… Do you know what they’re planning now? The Organization, I mean.”
no subject
"I just...I can't leave yet, all right? There's still too much about me that I don't know, and if I try to run I might never have a chance to find out any of it. I'm...I'm sorry."
The blond Nobody turned away and took a step toward the door. "And I already told you...i don't know what they're up to. I only do my job."
no subject
Unsure how to respond to Roxas, especially after what he had said, the redhead simply stared at him. Roxas… Was Sora’s Nobody? Sora had… But he had just spoken with the boy. Did this mean… Did the darkness…? No, that wasn’t possible – was it? He frowned at the thought. There was a lot more to this than he had thought and with no one to turn to for answers he was beginning to feel as lost as Roxas. He was the one with all the answers, the one that everyone turned to… But if he had a question, who was he to turn to? He would never ask the Organization.
Placing his paws on his hips, Timon stepped forward and scowled. “Stop yelling at me!” he shouted in return. “I don’t know where you got this stupid idea that you ain’t worth anything but I’m tellin’ you right now you’re acting a complete mook. A lot of people aren’t supposed to exist but they do and instead of crying over it they go and make something of themselves. You don’t have to apologize to me just get your head outta the mud hole and pull it together, kid.” He sighed. “I get what you’re trying to do… And if want, I’ll help you any way I can to find out the truth, just as long as you keep the Organization outta this. I mean, let’s face it. They’re not going to help you anyway.”
no subject
Sooner or later, he would probably leave...it was apparently going to happen anyway. For now, though, it was easier to just keep taking orders.
no subject
“Hey, this ain’t a one man’s job.” He said softly. “You know just as well as I do how hard it is to get anything out of the Organization. And though you might not want my help, you should at least think about it. Who else do you really have to turn to?”
no subject

no subject
"Why...Why do you want to help me? You don't have to do anything at all for me."
still just spyin on yous guys :x
The redhead's teeth clenched as he remained still, and hated every minute that he did nothing about it. He couldn't do anything about it. If Roxas knew he was keeping tabs on the kid, he'd... probably be just as angry with him as he was with the rest of the crew.
No... this was going to take a bit more planning, if he hoped to shelter Roxas from the wrath of the Organization, while still trying to keep the cloaked figures from paying too much attention to their thirteenth member...
no subject
The Organization was already using Roxas, did it really make a difference whether or not he used the Nobody too? Besides, it was not as though he was forcing the boy to tell him anything, so far Roxas had told him everything out of free will. True, he did have the off wish for things to work out for the blonde but he suspected this because the Nobody reminded him so greatly of Sora… Or was Sora… Or something. That was another thing he wanted; answers. If the boy delivered, there was no sense in just breaking contact with him, Nobody or not. If he wanted to keep up with the Organization, above all other reasons, this was the best route.
no subject
That was pretty much the only explanation that Roxas could think of, since he was lacking in his other's sense of altruism--however many other mannerisms he shared with the boy.
no subject
“Something I want to know? I think you got me all wrong here, kid. I just want to help. It probably sounds strange to you but you can care for a total stranger. You care about a lot of weird things when you have a heart. Maybe when you regain yours you’ll see what I mean.” He joined Roxas by the door and nodded firmly. “I’ll talk to you again soon.”
no subject
"Huh?" He looked down at the meerkat, pulled out of his thoughts. "Oh...yeah...I'll talk to you later..." He hardly seemed like he was there at all now...almost like a zombie. He didn't mke any eye contact with Timon, nor was he watching where he was going--not that he was clumsy enough to actually hit anything.
just a little closing remark. no big deal.
As spirals of darkness wove their way around the redhead, he seemed to sink into the bricks behind him, disappearing into the blackness. It was time to put his game face back on if he wanted to keep his head above the water, all the while towing his friend alongside of him.
