New arrival [Active, Open]
Character(s): Dahlia Hawthorne and anybody else who wants to join.
Content: Dahlia enters Paixao.
Setting: Vanaheim Gate entrance
Time: Midday
Warnings: None yet.
The only reason that Dahlia had approached the Paixao dome at all was to ask for directions. After all, she had expected that, after her death, she would ‘wake up’ inside a temple wearing an acolyte’s uniform which might be a little too small for her. Instead, however, she actually awoke in some grassland, wearing her favourite embroidered dress.
At first, she asked herself if she was actually inside Pearl’s body. But then why was she wearing her own clothes? Did her mother order her youngest daughter to dress up like Dahlia and then channel her for a sick joke? No, even a wicked and twisted woman like Morgan would probably not do that. Did Pearl put on the clothes herself to play a practical joke? No, the little brat was probably too stupid for that. Who channelled her, then? Also, where exactly was she? Why was she not in some secluded (and boring) temple in the mountains? Actually, why could she not see any mountains at all?
The young woman could not work it out. However, what she did decide to do was go and search for help. Wander the wilderness until she could find somebody who knew where the temple was. And that was how she found the great dome.
Dahlia, at first, was baffled by what she saw. Why would anybody be stupid enough to build a huge dome in the middle of nowhere and away from civilization? However, as she looked more closely, she could make out a few people standing in front some….trees? What the hell is this place? She thought. Why would people be stupid enough to come here?
She was even more puzzled when she got closer and closer to the dome and realised that the trees actually made some sort of archway and that three people were queuing up to it. From what it looked like, they were giving the man in front of the archway their names before going in.
Well, whatever stupid reason they had did not matter to Dahlia. The only thing that mattered was that somebody knew where the Hazakura Temple was. By the time she reached the gate, however, the three people that were queuing up had already gone in. The guard was still there, however, and Dahlia decided to take advantage of that.
“Um…excuse me, sir,” she said, turning her head down , hoping that looking like a lost kitten would make the man pity her. “I’m so sorry to bother you, but I think I’m lost”.
“Your name, please?” the guard asked.
“Ummm…my name is D-” she began before stopping and mentally cursing for nearly making such a stupid move. Dahlia Hawthorne was supposed to be dead! Hanged for her crimes. If she revealed her true name, either somebody might think that she was mad or, even worse, she would be in serious trouble. No, she could not reveal her name. She had to keep a low profile.
“My name is, um…Jessica,” she said, quickly thinking of a name in her head. “Umm….sir, I feel so ashamed for asking this, but I’m look-”
But before she could continue, the guard suddenly shoved some sort of pink device into her hands. “Welcome to Paixao,” he told her, without any hint of emotion in his voice. “Enjoy your stay.”
And before Dahlia could react, she was pushed through the gates of Paixao and into the city…

Kairi was eating eating an ice cream within the gates when the woman was pushed through. Well, if the gate guards weren't going to treat guests as nicely as they should, then Kairi would do her best to try and help out. It certainly passed the time while being stuck in the city.
So, with that that, she moves to the newly-entered redhead, a smile on her face. "Excuse me, miss. Well... you probably already got the welcome to Paixao bit... pretty sure you haven't gotten much else though. I'm Kairi." She holds out her hand that doesn't have the ice cream. "I've been in this city for awhile, so... I can help you if you need anything. It's all pretty complicated."

She was about to go back and try and tell the man that she did not want to go in (and use her charisma to get him to apologise). However, her attention was caught by the voice of the young girl who came up to her.
She looked up and saw a red-haired girl in her teens in some really...ridiculous-looking dress. She also seemed to be quite polite and friendly, which made Dahlia feel slightly sick. Dahlia never liked nice and cheerful people - they were irritating and stupid. However, if the girl was willing to help then maybe older redhead could take advantage of that.
"Oh, um...thank you very much," she replied, pretending to be horrified. "I didn't want to come in here but that horrible man pushed me!"

Kairi peers beyond Dahlia to look at the gate keeper, then settles back and shrugs a little nervously. "They can be like that sometimes." Although "horrible" was a bit much, wasn't it? Well... maybe it depended on what the woman was use to...
"But it's really no problem. I don't mind at all."

"Oh, sorry," she then said, looking ashamed of herself. "It's silly of me to overreact like this, I know."
no subject
"It's alright - it's perfectly understandable," she explains. "Everyone has a story about what they were doing before they were pulled to Paixao... some worse than others. Coming here must be shocking."
Kairi didn't quite remember how she reacted, herself. It seemed so long ago... When she arrived the second time, she didn't have it in her to be bothered.

"N-no way out?" she asked, not letting her real thoughts show.

"Um...thank you," she said, still looking awkward. "I'm sorry to be rude but I must be going. I need to look for the Hazakura Temple."

After some thought, Dahlia turned on the journal. It did not take her long to find the map feature and once she turned it on, she found herself staring at a city map full of places with very foreign-sounding names. Cara Para Ti orphanage? Ecos Na Cathedral? Jogo da Crianca? The older woman still had no idea where she was but something told her that she was nowhere near the temple.
"So...this city is called Paixao?" she asked the girl.

Either way, she tosses the stick in the garbage and looks back to the woman as she speaks again. "That's right," she says. "Someone said it means 'passion' in a language they recognize." She shrugs.

"Where exactly is it located?" she asked, looking worried. "This map only shows the city".
