It had yet to be determined whether it was by luck or perhaps misfortune that Genie had been passing through the area that afternoon. He was far from new to the city but still found himself in need of some of the information brochures offered at the gates. Rather distracted upon his rather unexpected arrival he had easily missed a few, as well as the photo opportunity to capture the gate he had passed through on film. The two large, fruitful trees that enclosed Vanaheim's gate would do perfectly though, especially for his vacation slide show. However, with all the photo’s he had collected thus far, the djinn had even considered making a scrap book.
Genie carefully opened the back of his camera and snapped in a new roll of film. Tempted as he was to get into the picture, he was forced to restrain himself and chose only to capture the gate and the line of many visitors who waited to pass through it. He knew if he were in the photo it would distract the viewer too greatly from the illusion he wished to convey… Just like someone else that happened to catch his eye in the shot just before he snapped the photograph.
“Jafar?”
He lowered his camera and looked at the entrance where he had only caught a glimpse of sorceress before she had entered the city. No, it couldn’t have been him, could it? Genie shook his head. Maybe he was just imagining things – but what if he wasn’t?! The city would be in terrible danger. He had to investigate. Without a moment to spare, the genie flew after the sorceress and back into the city.
“Excuse me,” he asked, giving Nasira a gentle tap on the when he got close enough. “I was just wondering if I could ask you a question.”
