C'thulhu, Shm'thulhu [Complete]
Character(s): Ursula, Mao
Content: The Sea Witch arrives in Paixao!
Setting: Joutenheim Gate
Time: Week 14, Night
Warnings: Creepy tentacles?
In the shadowy depths of the ocean surrounding Paixao, Ursula slowly opened her eyes. Unlike the ocean she was used to, these waters were unnaturally empty of any sea life other than herself. As her eyes adjusted to the dim light of the moon shining through the water, flat sand far below her stretched out behind her until it faded into the darkness. Pursing her lips, Ursula turned slowly, gracefully in the water, taking stock of her sparse surroundings.
If this was the afterlife, someone had a poor sense of humor.
The last thing she recalled, the little spiky-haired brat and his friends had spoiled all her plans. They killed her precious darlings, her poopsies! Taken back the trident she worked so hard to get! Pushed her into the cavernous shadows where she'd fallen for...such a long time. Then to have the darkness fade and to end up in these strange waters?
Growling to herself, Ursula's tentacles curled into themselves briefly as she imagined strangling the so-called heroes. But! Business before pleasure. She pushed herself gracefully through the water and broke the surface, tossing back the short white hair that flopped forward onto her face. What was that in the distance? A human kingdom? She narrowed her eyes, feeling more than one familiar aura of darkness.
Great. She was here, too. Well, that explained everything. The snooty Mistress of Evil had no doubt summoned her here after that spectacular failure. As Ursula made short work of swimming to the shore, opting to use the river that seemed to go right up to the entrance, she was not relishing the meeting to come. If she could feel Maleficent's presence, surely she'd known she was here by now, so there was no choice but to obey for now. Play the role of the willing lackey until the opportune moment.
Slowly rising out of the river, her tentacles slapped wetly onto the sand. Reaching up to pat at her hair, Ursula moved over the grass with supernatural ease, tentacles curling and twisting under her in organized chaos. Approaching a small line of humans, her red-nailed hand roughly gripped one of humans by the shoulder and tossed him aside. Her tentacles did the same, grabbing and tossing and pushing people to the side as she cut to the front of the line.
"Hello, hon," she cooed at the trembling gatekeeper. Her hand shot out and gripped his chin. With a hard squeeze, she lifted him up closer to her face, made more terrible by the malevolent grin. "Would you be so kind as to tell me where Maleficent is?"

What a wonderful specimen! He had yet to see something like it before. Was it, perhaps, a demon? Some sort of previously undiscovered creature? It seemed sentient... And that aura! There was something decidedly dark about it, but powerful, too. He had to investigate further!
Maybe these people were on to something when they said he should go out more, after all.

She seemed completely focused on the task of fiddling with the device, opening it and pressing various buttons with surprising delicacy. Thus it was a surprise to those still frozen in fear around her when one tentacle shot out towards the bespectacled boy. Ursula looked over her shoulder with what would be a coy, charming smile were it not for the face that wore it. "And what are you looking at, kiddo?"

Mao listened closely to her response, a small spark appearing in his eyes as Ursula mentioned she was the only one of her kind. Excellent. It even excused her not giving up whatever weapons she had. ...Maybe it was hidden where she put her journal. Some kind of interdimensional pocket?
"And what are your people, exactly?"

But like hell he was going to let her know that. Interesting specimen or not, she had no business asking those kinds of questions. "Why would they need to?" Mao asked, looking as though the questions didn't bother him, though he spoke distantly. "They make excellent specimens. Weak, easy to catch... If only they didn't disappear so easily when I try to dissect them."

As she spoke, one hand gracefully gestured at the shadow Mao cast from the moonlight. Slowly, two pinpoints of yellow widened from where the demon's head would be. The shadow seemed to thicken at the top, taking on corporeal form until suddenly, a Shadow Heartless popped out and leapt over Mao towards Ursula. She grabbed it by its neck in mid-air and absently twirled one finger around an antennae. "But, if it bothers you...I could do something for you. Get rid of that pesky power."

Mao drew himself a little straighter, resting a hand on his hip. "Besides, a demon's supposed to have some sort of darkness within him."

Laughing, she slid her hands down her sides and to her generous hips, smoothing out nonexistent flaws in the slick, slippery black. "A demon needs some darkness, sure, but...hon, I think you might have a little more than just some." Her slate-colored eyes narrowed as she gazed down at him. "Pity you don't know what to do with it."

A soft "tch," and Mao crossed his arms. "And what if I do? Like I said, I can control it just fine. I don't need to use that power."

The young demon stood glaring at where Ursula had disappeared for awhile longer before storming off back to his lab.
