Shantotto Leads the Way [Active]
Character(s): Shantotto and anyone else who wants to come along :D
Content: Shan gets impatient of waiting on others, and decides to lead a group herself to St. Destino and beyond o/
Setting: Niflheim gate at first.
Time: Starting a bit before 8am.
Warnings: Rhyming. Lots of it.
Originally she was ready to be content with going with the group that had been forming, but it seemed there'd been some holdup, and nothing had progressed. Doctor Shantotto had better things to do than wait on others, however some company was preferable, as they could potentially prove to be rather useful, in the long run. Well, they could be providing any of them showed up.
Shantotto had arrived at the gate a few minutes before the appointed meeting time. Giving herself a few minutes to see what would be in order to get past the gate guards. It seemed it would be quite simple, with them all clustered together as they were. A sleepga spell would easily put the whole lot to sleep, the guard at the counter included, allowing them an easy escape from the city.

So she arrived at the meeting place the woman on the board had specified, still half asleep (8 AM was waaaaaay too early). She barely noticed her, considering she really hadn't expected that the one who had called for this group to form was a little kid. Really? She looked even younger then her little brother! There had to be a mistake somewhere...
"Uhh, hey," she lazily said, trying to hide her disappointment. After all, you shouldn't judge someone's power on how they looked... or whatever Alouette said.

Fortunately she wasn't late, so not many people had arrived when she got there. Today, she was dressed in her Gun Mage dressphere, though her other choices were always within close reach. Smiling around, she waved a little.
"Hello. I'm Yuna. You're here for the exploration, right?"

Any deeper clues about this city, how she'd arrived here, and what direction she should go in next were something she was quite eager to find.
She 'saw' three people as she approached the gate: a diminutive woman of a species that Shoaneb didn't recognize and two young Human females. There was a sense of power to each of them, but it wasn't the Force... in fact it wasn't something Shoaneb had ever seen before. "Hello," she said, giving them a small but respectful bow. "I am Shoneb Culu."

He did not, however, bother to give his name as he arrived. If they knew it not (and the most likely didn't) that was just fine by him.

"Hello, hello! I'm glad you were all able to join me today! If you're all ready, we'll head off without any delays," she greeted them in a voice that was definitely not that of a child.
Not even waiting to hear their responses, she turned from them, moving a few paces closer to the gate, then began to cast a spell. Her spell went off, magic appearing around the heads of the gatekeepers, and one by one, they slumped over or fell to the ground, fast asleep.

Before she could say anything else however, the guards just fell asleep right here and now. Oookay, kid or not, annoying her just might not a good idea. Oh well, at least the path was clear then.
"So, where exactly are we going now?"

And at least Priere asked the question that was on Yuna's mind. The former summoner listened carefully, gauging danger levels as she did so.

She also noted Yuna going through her equipment pouch, wondering what she was adjusting. As for herself, Shoaneb tried to be confident that the Force and her lightsaber could see them through the situation, but she wasn't about to let her guard down. The man in armor hadn't spoken a word, and she had very little idea of the true intentions of these people. She felt as though Yuna and Priere were not evil people, but the man and the woman were more difficult to read.
"I believe I missed your names," Shoaneb said to the two of them, not in a whisper but keeping her voice low in case the guards awoke.

"I am but a man," he answered simply, voice echoing hollowly in the helm. "A man who would return to the lands he once knew, should such even be possible."
There was nothing to keep him here, so there was no real reason to mention either title or name. No one here would be familiar with either.

To anyone wondering if her rhymes were accidental or on purpose would perhaps be starting to catch on that they most certainly weren't, as she continued on explaining.
"First, however, to a church with a door is where we are to go. And, as for my name, you may address me as Doctor Shantotto," the Tarutaru said, giving Shoaneb a brief glance before focusing her gaze back in the distance towards the church, as she walked ahead.
She'd been there before and had gone through the door, finding herself in a very different place. After spending several days on the islands, she had not found any clues to how it was there or the reason for the connection. Now she had more information! False worlds created within a castle with memories? She was more than a little interested in how exactly that had been achieved.
Of course, Shantotto was also interested in finding a way back to Vana'diel, but she wasn't exactly in any rush. She wanted excitement and she wouldn't find that back in Windurst.

However, she did stare at the strange man in the armor for a bit, silently telling him to knock it off. Not that she wanted to start raising suspicions around their group already, but come on. What the heck did he have to hide exactly?
Anyway, this wasn't very important at the moment. Heading towards their destination, she whipped out her baton just in case someone or something decided to get the jump on them. After all, you can't just rely on sleep spells to get around.

"Somehow I don't think we're going to be having much fun in a fancy place," she murmured, just loud enough for Priere to hear as she fell into place beside the woman with bright red hair.
Shaking herself inwardly, Yuna decided to go ahead with her dressphere change. It looked like she'd end up best on the supporting end and if that meant a well-placed Darkness Dance or Sleepy Shuffle, then she was all for it. Maybe even a Jitterbug or two. She smiled at the thought and let the new dressphere click into place.
Bright lights billowed out from the garment grid, completely engulfing Yuna. The one good thing she could say about this was that it had never woken anyone up who was asleep or alerted anyone to her presence. With a little luck, it wouldn't do so now, either.
Eventually, the lights died down and Yuna was in her favored Songstress dressphere. Kicking her foot against the microphone, she trotted forward a bit and fell into place, trying not to dance too much too soon... and failing miserably at it.

"What sort of equipment is that?" she asked Yuna, curious and intrigued. It was no ordinary garb, nor did it even seem like a kind of technology she was unfamiliar with; Shoaneb could see an unusual aura around it and the sphere that it had come from. Unless her culture had managed to harness the Force to technology? But like Shantotto's power, this didn't have the same sense to it.
She also noted that Priere had taken out a baton, one that she clearly used as a weapon. Shoaneb touched the hilt of her lightsaber again, hoping that she wouldn't need to use it.

Unlike the others, he made no real show of making sure his swords were at the ready. He didn't need to. They'd served time out of mind, and would do so again.
"Ans where do you usually go then?" he asked in response to Priere's comment.

As conversation had shifted between the four behind her, she moved ahead, allowing them to converse while she hopped onto a rock, stopping for a moment to gaze out into the distance for any potential trouble. Thus far she saw nothing. What a shame.

Whatever she was about to say was lost as Yuna suddenly started shining and ended up in new clothes. She had seen something similar happen with Eclair back home, but it clearly wasn't the same. For starters, Yuna didn't suddenly feel a lot darker... heck, she was dancing. "What was that?" she echoed Shoaned, clearly curious. That was kinda cool after all.
"Well, usually just around the country, but when we go through a dark gate, we always get send to some weird random place in the Netherworld," she said. "Pretty gloomy and dark down there, but sometimes you'd end up in places with weird machines and huge containers." She honestly had no idea what these were for, except that they looked big enough to fit an adult, but it's not exactly as if they went down the Dark World for touring. Kicking the living crap out of demons was more like it. "So, the beach is a nice change!" Maybe not safer, but hey, at least it'll feel nice.
When the small Doctor went ahead, she had to admit she was expecting to hear another one of those "Stop talking while on a mission" speech like she was used to... well maybe she wasn't as bossy as the old Alouette was. "Nothing yet huh?"
no subject
"It's called a dressphere," she explained, tucking the purple crystal sphere back into its garment grid. "A friend from Spira, Shinra, invented them. I only have a few with me here, but they each give me different clothes and abilities. This one is Songstress and it lets me dance to give support boosts. It seems like the best option when so many of you appear to be good fighters already."
Yuna's attention was caught by Shantotto as the tiny doctor climbed up on a couple of rocks and looked around. "Doesn't look like it," she replied, walking a little closer herself.

When they stepped through the door, Shoaneb halted. She'd stepped onto a new place, a new planet... dozens of new sensations flooded her senses. The sound of the sea, the scent of salt, the low rises of islands in the limitless expanse of ocean.
"How...?" She turned her head back and saw Paixao still there. But everything else around them was this. Since she'd begun training as a Jedi, Shoaneb had seen many strange things, but this... this was entirely new. "And this is... common for you?" she asked Priere as she put a hand to her head, adjusting to the abrupt change in environment.

"By the same method we were brought, no doubt."
Be it gods, fate or something he hadn't the words for.
