Rag-Tag Reunion [active]
Character(s): Mao, Almaz, and Sapphire
Content: A nice,friendly slavely reunion
Setting: St. Destino Hospital
Time: Early Afternoon
Warnings: None
Mao had, for once, emerged from his lab into the daylight of his own volition. Of course, the arrival of his slaves was a situation that definitely warranted it. Besides, he wanted to see them arrive with his own two eyes. They sounded like the Ex-Fake Hero and the Princess, but how was he to know they were actually here? With all the crap that kept happening in this city and all the suspicious people, it could very well be a trap.
Not that he had any idea how they would know about those two, but they could have just made a lucky guess. Better to be suspicious than allow someone to fool you like that.
It wasn't even original.
He scowled, his foot tapping impatiently on the grass as he scanned his surroundings for any sign of Almaz or Sapphire. He thought he had told them to come quickly... Just how far were they from this place, anyway?

"Sir Mao!" She spoke up quite loudly, hoping her voice would be caught by her favorite Overlord in the world. ♥ "Almaz! Are you there?"
no subject
He could only hope that Mao hadn't gotten into any trouble. He was the kind of person that... took some getting used to, after all.
And his beloved Princess was here too! Oh, it was both a blessing and a curse. How it was a blessing didn't need any explanation, on the other hand, now Almaz had another reason to worry. Ahh, he could almost hear her voice...
Wait, no. Almaz blinked. That was her voice, wasn't it? Picking up the pace, Almaz hurried forward. The hospital was just up ahead now.
no subject
Oh, there he was. Good. Now both of them were here. "You two better not go missing again," he warned, "If I have to hunt you down..." He'd let them fill in the blanks. It didn't even need to be said.
But first thing was first. He turned to Sapphire, "Where's my staff?"
no subject
She looked over at Almaz, that perpetual knot dissolved in her heart as she looked him over well. "I'm glad to see you're okay, Almaz. Are you sure you're still in one piece?" She leaned in close, inspecting him curiously... almost to the point of being just a liiiitttle bit too close. ♥ "Mm, all seems well here!"
The princess turned back to the young boy, "Sir Mao, you should know we wouldn't do anything to leave you alone again."
no subject
Almaz turned his head away from Sapphire as she got close to examine him, mumbling confirmation that yes, he was pretty sure he was still all together, princess, and finding an extreme amount of interest in the buildings over there. Almaz struggled to keep down the blush spreading across his face.
He let himself breathe again when she turned to address Mao. "Y-yes, yes, we won't," Almaz agreed. He straightened himself up and took a quick glance around them. "Has it really been a month for you?"
no subject
And just what were she and Almaz doing? He saw that blush on the ex-Fake Hero's face. Ugh, they weren't going to start gushing all over one another, were they?
"You'd better not. There's enough trouble in this place to worry about without slaves going missing," he muttered. He could have sworn he read something somewhere about someone performing experiments on people, too. Dammit, he was the only one allowed to experiment on people here! At least unless he got a look at some of the results or got to participate.
He nodded at Almaz's question. "Yeah," he replied, though there was a hint of annoyance in his voice. How didn't they notice he was missing?! People didn't go missing for a month without someone noticing! But hadn't he said something about coming in the dimensional gate right after him? That didn't make any sense! "Oi, are you sure you two were right behind me?" he asked, crossing his arms.
no subject
Of course, Sapphire truly didn't mean to use force to remind Mao... if she didn't need to. ♥ As a demon, she expected a few quirks here and there from her friend, but to question their loyalty was a bit too much.
no subject
"I'm pretty sure we were all there," Almaz answered. "You were leading us to a different part of the school before I ended up here." The gap in time made absolutely no sense, but Mao sounded serious, so Almaz couldn't pass it off as a joke. When he had arrived at Paixao, Tidus had mentioned that people were sometimes taken from different times, but wasn't this a little different?
Then again, if that was true, couldn't their current situation be possible as well? It was a mess trying to think too deeply about it. Almaz settled on making sure they were on the same page, first--at least that they were from the same point in time. "... Everyone at the Evil Academy was having their things stolen, right?" he asked warily.
no subject
Mao listened quietly as Almaz stepped in, nodding once he had finished. "Yeah. We were continuing our search for that legendary Overlord." At least it sounded like they were on the same page. It still didn't explain the missing month, but it was better than nothing. If only he could figure out how it had happened... Some sort of time travel? That could be interesting.
And that one guy had a time machine. Hm...
no subject
"Say, do you think this is the legendary Overlord's plan?" She curiously tilted her head at Mao, "Are we part of a grand scheme of things now? I really hope that means I get to beat the ever living stuffings out of someone soon! ♥"
She paused for a moment to clasp her hands together and sigh dreamily about it. The thought of the battlefield, how it made her very happy! At that moment, a thought crossed her mind, "You know..."
The princess looked around, it was rather interesting how much they stood out. "Did you notice this is some sort of human world? It's a little weird, too..."
no subject
"I mean, I would've expected something a little creepier, not this," Almaz continued, lightly rubbing at his neck. Was this Paixao place another sort of human world? "It's weird, but it definitely doesn't look like any Netherworld I've heard of. The person I talked to at the gate didn't know there were other kinds of worlds, either..."
no subject
"It's something all right," Mao said. "And the 'natives' here are useless, so don't bother with them. They can barely see what's going on around them."
He turned toward Sapphire. "Apparently there's this Organization that's in charge of the place. They're supposed to be pretty powerful. Enough to be talked about a lot here. There's also some group in City Hall that's been doing things around here, too." Mao crossed his arms, looking to both now. "One of them probably knows how to get out of here for sure. Tch... doubt they'll actually tell anything."
no subject
She turned around and began walking towards the streets again, Sapphire raised her hand up to her brow and squinted to get a better look. This city was huge, if she had to turn over every stone to figure out what was going on then she would simply have to do that!
"Sir Mao, which way should we go?"
no subject
There she goes already, he thought, sighing. Not that Almaz could blame her, he didn't like where this was headed at all. This "Organization" aside, there was still an awful lot that didn't add up. It was worrying! And if they really were stuck here--unless the guy at the gate lied, but why would he?--that certainly didn't help the situation in any way.
Almaz turned to Mao, looking a little lost. They just got here! Wasn't this rather quick!? ... on the other hand, sitting around felt a little wrong, too. "Er, well." He glanced back at Sapphire, to make sure she hadn't gone too far. "What do you think we should do?"
Gah, sorry for my lateness. Been in a weird RP funk lately. DX
"I only know where one group is, and their place has a wall of thorns in front of it. People have tried to get past it and haven't succeeded yet." He would give it credit: it was a little original. "We'd need to find another way in."
But... now? Dammit, that question was a hard one. "...Wait a little longer. It's not like they're going anywhere anytime soon." He wasn't going to have them be defeated just because they didn't have enough knowledge.
Christmas Time is tough!
She loosened up suddenly, she smiled cheerfully at both of them, "OK! I'll wait for now. It'll make the blow much more satisfying, don't you think?"
It was rash of her, Sapphire knew. She needed to be more patient with situations like these, but it was such a hassle to be here in the first place! Deep down, she honestly didn't mind so much now that she knew Mao and Almaz were both here, but her heart was set on seeing Lady Beryl. This totally interrupted her normal day activities of sitting next to her Lady and gushing over how cute she was.
"Ne, Almaz? Are we really going to stay at that Hospital?" She looked around at the surrounding buildings and sighed, "I mean, we are a married couple now..."
no subject
"O-Oi! If that means you two are going to be all mushy at eachother the entire time you're here, you can take it somewhere else!" Mao suddenly cried. "At least two floors away. I don't even want to hear one word of it!"
no subject
Fighting down an embarrassing smile, Almaz needed a moment to let this sink in.
... Princess was suggesting that they should live somewhere else! As a married couple!!
"Oh, you're right, Princess." Giddiness was definitely obvious in his voice now. One could almost see hearts around him. "Where do you think we should live? I'll follow you, no matter where!"
no subject
The hospital was an interesting location, she had to admit. As sterile and dank as it may be, all it really needed was a bit of a woman's touch! Yes, yes, that would do. "Okay, so the hospital it is? Just don't come near us with any of those instruments, Sir Mao. I'm sure I can find a chainsaw if I look hard enough."
"So what now? Oh! We should find somewhere to eat! We can think about it over lunch, don't you think?"
no subject
And it was easier to talk to them, he guessed.
"Geh, fine. But if either of you get some kind of rare disease or mutation, you're all mine," he agreed.
...Lunch sounded pretty good. "There's a cafe near here."
no subject
"O-okay," Almaz replied. Whatever they said, he supposed. Things always turned out this way for him, anyway. (Oh, but he could just cry! It wasn't even like the honeymoon was happening back in the Netherworld either!)
"... I. I guess we should head out, then? Where is this cafe?" Maybe it would help him get over- oh, who was he kidding.
