Knock Knock [Active]

Characters: Team TARDIS! ...Tanaka is now a member of Team TARDIS. Yes.
Content: Rosette and Tanaka make it to the TARDIS...only to find themselves locked out. Um.
Setting: At the TARDIS (I9 Area)
Time: Early afternoon, week 12 [BACKDATED]
Warnings: None

"It should be around here somewhere," Rosette mused, looking over her shoulder at Tanaka. "The Doctor told me he hadn't moved it, so..." She trailed off as she looked around a corner, then brightened up. If there was anything that could have made her day better, it was that blue Police Box. "Ha! Knew it!"

She broke into a run, covering the distance in a short amount of time. It had taken them a while to get here, and she sure wasn't going to dawdle on the last bit. She grinned as she reached the door, pulling on the handle. "Guess wh-"

The handle didn't give.

She blinked at it and tried again. No dice. "You've got to be kidding me," she muttered, then turned back to Tanaka with a sheepish look on her face. "Looks like we're locked out."

If one were to ask as to why Tanaka had felt the need to join the young woman back, he'd have mumbled something about duty and protection and those various kinds of things that were all very important for an Ouendan to keep in mind and such.

In all honesty, it was a combination of desperation and curiosity. He hadn't had the exact helpfulness in letting Rosette into the city, since she already knew the place, so he had to help her in some way. Making sure she got back safe had to count for something. And this TARDIS place... he'd heard something about it before. From Rose back at the pool, if he remembered right. Vague interest in the place had prompted Tanaka to take a look, at least.

When she approached the place, though, he had to stare a moment, then look around. That tiny little stall. Was there... more underneath? Tanaka just gave Rosette a bemused gaze. "I take it you... don't have a spare key on you, then," he finally managed. He frowned and looked around again. "You told him you were coming, didn't you? It shouldn't be long."

"Oi!" The voice sounded across the area where the TARDIS was left. "Where have you been?" Donna asked, walking across to where the other two were standing. After finding her way out of the confounded box, she had decided to then wander around the city, getting herself lost again. But at least there she had a map.

She recognized Rosette from being around before. But didn't recognize the person she was with. Interesting uniform, at least. "Doctor has us locked out, doesn't he?"

Another woman, another unfamiliar face. He gave her a small nod of greeting. "A pleasure. I'm sorry to impose."

It was feeling more and more like he must be imposing, at this point. Neither of the women had a key, apparently, and even if they were welcome in this TARDIS thing, he was wondering if he had the right to be invited. Perhaps he should leave? ...No, he had come to make sure Rosette got in safe, and he was here to do just that.

It seems the one time the Doctor isn't futzing around in the TARDIS is when they actually have people waiting outside for them. Rose doesn't even bother hiding her surprise, although with the bags of groceries in her arms it wouldn't be too hard (thankfully she managed to weasel the Doctor into carrying some of the heavier ones, at least).

The gathering was made up of familiar faces, at least. Rosette from a long time ago; Donna, her new partner-in-crime; and Tanaka, who she met at the pool party. Funny how that all works out, mm?

"Oh, hey everyone," she chimes in when they're close enough. "Hope you haven't been waiting that long." She's feeling much better now than earlier. "Give me a sec, yeah?" She sets down her bags outside the door, then starts fishing around for her key.
