Taking out a blitzball, he figured showing off another one of his moves would look impressive as well as getting rid of several of the Heartless. Throwing the blitzball, it ricocheted off of a Heartless as Tidus jumped up in the air, performing a back flip as he kicked the blitzball back at the group of Heartless, once again defeating a number of them. "Jecht Shot!" As much as he had issues with his old man, he certainly did make a hardass technique that was useful for situations such as these and not just in the sphere pool.
