It had been a surprisingly quiet afternoon for Genie. He had woken up, gone out for breakfast, walked through the park to feed the pidgins, remembered halfway through the park there were no pidgins, spoken with the what few citizens would with him in exchange for his breadcrumbs, then took to the skies. The jinni did not have a particular destination in mind for his flight; it had simply been for pure enjoyment of getting off the ground.

He soared through the sky, looking down at the city in thought. It looked so peaceful from such a feat. Of course, one could say that about anything really, but there was definitely a rare beauty that one could see from the sky. From the tallest tree to the smallest rose, the way the hand woven plant life shone in the light was simply mesmerizing. Genie couldn’t help but take a picture of this, knowing that of all places he had visited in the world, Paixao would take up the largest portion of his vacation scrapbook.

Funny, he had always imagined it to be Disney World. Ah, well. What was life without a few surprises? Genie chuckled to himself at the thought, putting his camera away before something caught his attention. He had almost missed it, catching it just barely from the corner of his eye. When he turned to get a better look, he couldn’t help but stare: he wasn’t the only one in the sky today.

At first Genie mistook the woman for having her life in jeopardy. He thought she was falling, or that she’d somehow been tied to the roof of the dome. Upon closer inspection however, he was thankful to find such was not the case. In fact, this woman actually looked familiar. He flew up toward her curiously.

“I never thought I’d see the day where I’d actually have company up here!”
