"Really..." Urd narrowed her eyes slightly. Immortals? Enough to desensitize a human woman? That never boded well. What exactly lived here? What could bring a goddess off course? Smiling once more, she leaned forward slightly. "Excuse me for a moment."
Her bare feet lifted off the ground as she floated once more in place. Her hair billowed around her once more and she seemed to glow. From her back, the glow intensified. In a burst of feathers that disappeared as soon as they appeared, the top half of a woman with wings came out of Urd's back. Her wings, her eyes and even her swept back hair were two-toned; half black and half white. Elegant black markings traced her pale flesh and billowing around the angel was white strips of cloth, barely covering the ample chest before swirling around the hips and into the glow over Urd's back.
Urd straightened, lifting her hands in front of her. The angel mirrored her movement exactly. Eyes closed, she moved her mouth and spoke so rapidly that it sounded like a tape of her voice fast forwarded.
This...this wasn't good. The usual invocation to connect with Yggdrasil was gone, replaced by the divine equivalent of radio static. She was willing to bet any attempt made by actual phone would be unsuccessful too.
She opened her eyes slow, drifting back down to the ground. The angel and the glow surrounding them both faded and Urd's hair settled around her shoulders and down her back once more. Frowning, she lifted her gaze back to Lara.

"Are there immortals here?"
