A New Chapter [active]
Character(s): Lexaeus and Zexion
Content: More discussion! This time of the results of experiments
Setting: The Lounge of Dreamless Sleep
Time: somewhen
Warnings: None!
Given that they both had tendencies to end up in the place given both time and a desire for either silence or something to pass the time, there was really only one place to begin the search for Lexaeus. This time however, Zexion opted to arrive on foot. Unlike the previous time, this information wasn't time-critical and it wasn't like the Lounge didn't have a door, if one knew how and where to look for it.
Besides, the sound of the door opening ought to be a good enough indicator of his arrival, or so he assumed.

Looking up when his comrade came in through the door, Lexaeus nodded and said, "Welcome."

"May I ask what you've found out so far?"

"The loss of our labs will be quite an annoyance, although I would be interested in knowing precisely how they managed to see though the cloaking, as well as who, precisely, was the individual to do so. However, that's hardly the topic at hand; it can wait a bit longer."
There was a brief pause as he worked out how to present the rest of what he had to say, and then he continued.
"Sadly, what information I have on the matter does not quite follow the same path as what you've begun. Two of the three subjects I had had been in Marluxia's hands; my efforts there were largely focused on undoing what he'd set up for himself in the first and you know something of how things went with the Replica. However if that is still acceptable..." his voice trailed off, the sentence ending in a slight shrug.
Not the same, but still valuable information, or so he hoped.

How much time, he couldn't say without being able to read the future. But with luck it would be enough.
"As for what he'd intended with his subjects, he seems to effectively bought the replica's allegiance by promising him a way to be someone separate from his original; that may be a weakness we are able to exploit should we wish. As for the other - a young girl - he managed to convince her he was an ally and the only one to be trusted. Fortunately, I was able to counter that, to an extent."

Lexaeus paused for a moment in silent contemplation, then continued, "Beware the Replica though. One desperate for identity will leap at any chance, regardless of where it is from."
no subject
"A fact I'm unfortunately already aware of," Zexion answered, voice flat - the only outward indication of his distaste for the situation.
The rest, however, wasn't nearly so easy to say. He'd never taken well to having his plans fail so spectacularly. But he owed Lexaeus a proper explanation if nothing else, so after a moment he spoke up again, the words coming slower this time.
"He is, or would have been, the cause of my death. We ... met in the lower depths of the castle as things fell apart - Axel must have led him there. He..." again, a pause as the images flashed unbidden through his mind "he ate me. Took my power and made it his. His! All at the urging of the treacherous eighth."
no subject
"If Axel could use him before, it is possible he could again. We should not rely too heavily on the Replica as a tool then, it is a double edged sword."
no subject
"I imagine anyone could use him, provided they offered the right incentive. The promise of being more than Riku's shadow, for example. However, I will agree that there is a heavy risk involved there, should we commit to such an action. Perhaps only as a course of last resort?"
no subject
Already, Lexaeus' mind was full of possibilities, but he wanted to see what the other Nobody had to say first.
no subject
"Power. Strength. Perhaps Vexen can be convinced to help there?" It wasn't terribly likely, of course; Vexen tended to be unhelpful at best, but it was a possibility. Just not a very likely one.
"Barring that, he does have abilities he hasn't tapped into, or so I'd assume. And who better to offer to show him how to use them?"

After all, with a proper evaluation of what it could do, they would be better able to counter it, should it go a violent rampage.
"It's so far proven to be adept with darkness, if that provides any sort of stepping stone."
