Party Till We Can't No More [Active / very open]

Character(s): Angeal Hewley, Reno, Auron, ANYBODY!
Content: After a job well done, Angeal organizes a little get-together. With booze.
Setting: The Cheap Prayer, F5.
Time: Night
Warnings: Very, very drunk people, possibly.

For all that had been going on lately, this place was starting to shape up to be pret-ty interesting. Some of his buddies were here, which was a plus, they had the opportunity to blow up one of the labs kidnapping people, and there were plenty of bars around if you wanted to take some time off.

The overhead domes and the creepy metal-obsessed citizens were a little annoying, though. But once that was bypassed, Paixao actually seemed liveable.

Anxious and wanting to get started, Angeal Hewley was a professional at keeping his nerves in check, in keeping that stoic demeanor. It was required on the battlefield, and even here, he couldn't let his guard down. There could still be enemies to deal with, and these people needed someone to look out for them at all times. Most of the time, he was good at that. But not often.

But nevermind that. All that was left now were the guests.

For a man widely known for being late to things, there were (on occasion) times when Reno shattered all expectations of him by actually managing to be one time. This was one of those times. Parties were serious business after all; parties with booze, even more so.

Admittedly, he had to actually get to the place, but he'd long since scoped out the bars and with the trains, it was only a matter of catching the next out (conveniently enough, he already lived near a train stop). And from there it was only a matter of moments before he ended up at his destination, that all too familiar head of red hair making him almost impossible to miss among the crowds.

Now. Where oh where had Angeal gotten himself off to?

Hey, for all he knew Angeal could have decided to pull his wings in. He was pretty sure he'd seen the few others he'd seen with similar wings be able to do that anyway. But it wasn't really important at the moment. Besides, what did he care about what the man could and couldn't do? Not like he really had a boss to report to (anymore).

"What, you didn't think I was gonna miss somethin' like this, did you?" he asked, rather absent-mindedly pulling the dart out of the wall. It was gonna be fun, no matter who showed up.

Or so he hoped.

Luxord had been there for a while, of course. A bar was a fantastic place to gather intelligence, especially from tongues loosened by drink. (Plus, they were still serving those fiery red cocktails of which he was so fond. There were upsides to every role, it seemed.)

The man with the wings had immediately caught his eye, for obvious reasons. He had to be new. The redhead who joined him, however, was not - Luxord had seen him on the network. They spoke as though they knew each other, though, and were therefore worth watching. Maybe he'd buy them a round later and get himself involved in the conversation.

In the meantime, he straightened the collar of his shirt - casual clothes again - and caught a fresh drink as the bartender sent it sliding his way. Observation before the strike, after all.

[Feel free to skip him for a few rounds - he'll just be drinking and covertly glancing their way every once in a while. He'll probably tag back in once they start drinking. |D]

((jfkdlsdjflkds I'm sorry, I don't know how I missed this thread. >.O))

Auron normally wasn't one for parties. He never had been when he was younger (back then he had only found it a waste of time better spent on his duties, both as a Warrior Monk and a guardian), and his aversion toward them had only increased as he had become earlier, the only thing changing being his reason for avoidance. But it was a fight well fought and he hadn't had a drink for a long time. He could use one now.

It looked as though he wasn't the first to arrive. He noticed the red-head he'd talked to over the journals a few times previously, as well as one of the men who had been there during the siege. He glanced to them and gave a short nod to acknowledge their presence before going to sit at the bar and ordering himself a stiff drink.

He paused and frowned as the cup reached his lips, feeling eyes on him, but after a moment he "hmph"ed and took a drink, deciding that even if it were more than coincidence, the best thing he could do right now would be to continue on as usual, if only to avoid suspicion.

((...couldn't avoid it :D))

The Cheap Prayer. Hm. Sounded like a good place to find the dirt of the city; pick up filthy mongrels and pat them off to do some extra chores for him. Hades could always use a teeny bit more sources in Paixao. Heh. It was always better to work from the lowest of the barrel - the people that supporting the wealthy! Although he couldn't tell who was who as much here.

There was a distinct lack of gods.

Ah, well. Lack of Zeus? That made things simply fantastic.

Hades glided into the building quite casually, as if he was just another everyday customer. He found himself a booth to lounge into, gazing across at the various guests. Hmm... there was a lack of natives around (perhaps Hades' presence sent them running), still, he could work with what he got.

Besides... he certainly spotted some real quality company...

If asked about the exact details of 'how long' Reno would have either made a comment to the effect of it not really mattering in the end or made a vague sort of answer that didn't really help in the long run. After all, what difference did it make right now? He didn't exactly have anyone to report to.

But even with that, he was still a Turk, eyes flickering over some of the more noticeable people in the place; both those who had just recently arrived and those who hadn't. The man in red was obviously a warrior of some sort, the man with his head on fire... well, the less said about him the better (especially that very odd nudge of familiarity).

As for the blond man sitting at the bar... well, he could simply be a native and he certainly had the coloring for it, but something told Reno that he'd be wise not to trust appearances here. Not that he'd mention his suspicions yet.

"Didn' know there was gonna be any explosions," Reno answered simply. It was true enough, even, for all that it wasn't the entire truth. "Might've come along 'f I'd known that."

And then the other man arrived, and Auron was immediately on edge. He recognized Hades from the trap before and he wondered what the so-called Lord of the Dead was planning now. Whether this meant it was a good thing or a mistake to show up was still to be determined.

The ex-guardian kept his eye on the god when he was sure Hades wasn't looking, only stopping to turn his head to look toward Reno and Angeal, lone, brown eye relating to them only one message: be on your guard.

It was almost cute watching them flutter about; mortals and their alcohol. Hades was more amused in keeping his focus on Auron though, after his eyes had made their rounds on the setting and its inhabitants. He had to do what he could to keep strings on Auron, whether or not the dead man remembered him. Forgetting Hades should be a crime, after all, and Auron hardly had done enough suffering. NO ONE should forget HIM!

Perhaps, now, the people he hung close to would make for proper leverage... Ahh, Hades did so love the use of that...

Hades grinned, then waved over part of the barstaff, his grin deepening as she shies away from his as much as possible while getting his order, then relaxed while waiting for his drink.

"The call that got put out never said anything about blowing buildings up. Stormin' th' place sure. But not explosions."

Or that was how he'd read it, anyway. And as a result, he'd missed a few spur-of-the-moment explosions. Unfortunate, but that was the way things went sometimes and it wasn't really like he could change things.

"But if you want more excuses, I can keep comin' up with them." He'd had more than enough reason to get very good at excuses over the years and saw absolutely no reason to stop now.

Nor did he miss the look that Auron had given them. Apparently he thought there was something to keep an eye out for. Well, he could do that. Drinks or no, Turks were trained to be watchful. He'd just have to be a little more careful for a bit.

But for now, he'd let his drink take his attention.

OH MY GOD I'M SO SORRY WHAT THE HELL ME

[identity profile] kotetsu-blade.livejournal.com 2009-05-16 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Auron was careful to keep a close watch on the god, certain that he was doing the same to him. The other two seemed to have gotten the message, at least. A small comfort. He wondered whether or not to say something, but thought better of it, deciding that all it would do was bring more attention to himself than he would have liked or was necessary.

Auron took another drink, a longer one this time, before setting the glass back down on the table and pushing it away. That would be it for now. He had enough to worry about without alcohol clouding his mind.

((Unless something crazy happens, Hades turn can be passed over :O))

"Stormin' a place means different things t' a Turk then it does t' a SOLDIER," Reno answered, waving his hand in the air for emphasis. "Tseng'd have my head 'f we blew a place up without getting out what we could first."

And there would have been a smaller force heading out in the first place. Infiltrate, not overwhelm. That was the way of the Turks - at least when they were being put to proper use.

"Sure, why not." Not like he was so far gone to be incapable of standing, after all.

[identity profile] kotetsu-blade.livejournal.com 2009-05-21 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
One of them was drunk. It was obvious enough to tell with him stumbling around like he was. How the other man was doing, Auron couldn't tell as of yet, but he had a feeling it would be a good idea to go along with. He didn't like the idea of being with Hades alone. The god had said something about attempting to use him in the future, and, as Auron was certain the god wouldn't take a refusal very well, he wasn't about to start a fight, not here. Not when he didn't know exactly what Hades was capable of.

The ex-guardian shot one last glance in the god's direction before following after Reno and Angeal.
