Here We Come to Save the Day [Active]

Characters: Everyone who volunteered here
Content: A large group of people is off to go explore and possibly decimate a suspicious building. Awesome. :D
Setting: The Joutenheim gate to about the M-10 area
Time: Midmorning
Warnings? They're going to go blow up a building. Warnings for everything associated with that.
NOTE: So you guys know, there will be a few things different about this thread. For one, it'll start all with one long subthread to a certain point. I will start a new subthread with Death when this changes, and from there y'all can split into teams (don't worry, this will all make sense). Don't be afraid to do multiple subthreads once the teams split off, and by all means poke me if you have any questions. I'll put teams together soon.
The other big change is, no posting order. Post as frequently as you'd like - just remember to give everyone else a piece of the action!

To be honest, Death wasn't entirely certain what they were going to find. He had his suspicions - after all, all the signs pointed towards the Organization - but it was still better to err on the side of caution.

He had left instructions to exit the gate individually or in small groups, so as not to create suspicion. He himself had already gone through and stood to the east of the line of people waiting to enter. He would be easy enough to see and the people in line would pay him no attention. It was perfect.

So he waited. The others should arrive soon.

The city was large, and finding required areas were still difficult, even if this one was nearby. Though he did have the habit of showing up at the last minute for things. It was just how he worked.

Seeing a group of people gathered by the Joutenheim gate, the winged man calmly walked over with a nod. Some of the people he'd seen around, most he hadn't. Sephiroth and the meerkat might've been the only ones, in his honesty.

"Sorry." He said simply to the group. He didn't need an explaination; it wasn't important, and they'd only be delayed in their mission. "Where're we going?"

While Aerith hadn't heard the whole story, Harry had told her enough to pique her interest. Besides, if they were exploring outside, they might need someone to heal them if something bad happened. She hoped nothing like would happen, but it never hurt to be safe.

She walked up behind Angeal, smiling at the group. "That's a good question," she agreed. "Where are we going?"

Auron tapped the large blade against his shoulder once. He wouldn't be surprised if a few of the Organization itself decided to make their appearance. Hopefully they wouldn't have to deal with too many. He'd heard of their abilities, but hearing and seeing were two entirely different things.

"I doubt they would let such a place fall so easily," he added before following after Death. He saw just as little reason to wait as Death did.

Harry just grinned at Murphy and gave her a look that clearly said, 'just wait and see."

With the exception of Timon, who Harry had already met, the rest of the group didn't seem too strange. At the very least they all appeared human, though Harry knew better than anyone that such looks could be deceiving.

Nodding to Aerith with a smile, Harry made a mental note to keep track of the healer. He couldn't forgive himself if she got hurt, and given his own propensity to soak up damage, he'd likely need her help.

"Right, defeat the monsters, navigate the dungeon, rescue the princess, and property damage is encouraged. What could possibly go wrong," he asked in a tone that said he could imagine several things already.

Turning to Murphy, he gestured gentlemanly and said, "Ladies first."

Upon arrival, the rodent offered Sephiroth a small salute. However, evidence of disappointment appeared on his face when he looked up to greet general. No blueberry bagel... Why, no bagel at all! What a cheapskate, bagels didn't even cost that much! Like a man like him couldn’t afford to pick one up on his way outside the city. Why, he probably walked right past a Cafe Ersesat! Timon frowned and turned away from Sephiroth, looking as though he’d been betrayed by the man. If he had a bagel he could think of quite a few uses for it right about now, but with only his breakfast on hand he worked on finishing that instead to prevent the rude remark from escaping his lips.

By the time the rest of the group had arrived Timon had just finished eating. Surprisingly he had taken things slow, but as a result he appeared to be in a far better mood. He threw the apple core carelessly to the side and spat out its seeds before clapping his paws together excitedly. “Alright, let’s get down to business!” he said to no one in particular, looking between his cohorts before tuning in to Death’s instruction.

Following his lead, the meerkat started in the direction of the said Organization hideaway. The subject brought about a lot in his mind, not to mention the mission itself, but being outside seemed to bring even more. The last time he’d escaped the city had been with Larxene, and as one could easily guess, the experience was not one he enjoyed. This time, however, was different. With no building in sight the walk ahead of them looked as though it would be a long one, regardless of what Death had said. As far as he was concerned that left plenty of time for him to take in the experience.

Falling onto all fours, Timon happily trotted through the grass behind Auron. “Well,” he began, deciding to reply to the warrior’s comment jokingly. “Not unless they’ve got some good property insurance on their hands. If they’re gunna be reimbursed everything I can’t see ‘em being too worried.”

If Death wasn't bad enough there was also apparently a small talking...rodent with them as well. A loud mouthed, bitching one at that. Karrin attempted not to gawk and instead pretended to be checking her guns instead, this was crossing so many lines of weird that she never thought she would cross.

Thankfully she didn't have to wait long for all the members of their little group to gather and thankfully the talking rodent and skeleton were the worst of it. She had to focus though and pushed the weirdness, as she always did, to the back of her mind. Listening to the instructions she glanced over in the direction Death had indicated, she couldn't see anything but she knew all too well about magical concealments and figured if they were going this far that one of the geniuses here had figured out a way past that.

She rolled her eyes at Harry, "Don't jinx us before we even get there."

Karrin thought over Death's warning and decided to ask, since it would be pretty important, "Just to clarify, bullets can hurt these things, right?"

"Everything can get hurt." Angeal chimed in, readying a katana he'd purchased not too long before this endeavour began. "Just gotta know where to look, right?"

Not even bothering with introductions - a waste of time, in his opinion - the winged SOLDIER calmly followed the group into the assault, making sure to wtach his back, and the backs of his comrades. Nobody was going to die here if he could help it. These 'Nobodies' would be dispatched as soon as they'd reared their ugly faces.

With a small smirk, he added. "Just make sure to have fun, kids."

Thus far Laharl had been pretty quiet, just staring off towards the point Death had pointed. Out here was where he'd been taken? Memories of his escape were fuzzy at best. He vaguely could remember the inside, but the outside? Not at all. Then again, if most people couldn't see it, of course he wouldn't have a memory of it, would he?

Well, he didn't have to know exactly where it was to blow it up.

"Hmph, rubble? It'll be dust by the time I'm done with it, whether they like it or not!" he pipped up, ending his silence, as he followed along.

The Overlord was alone. He'd had no part in gathering those that were here. He might have considered bringing Etna along, but she was still recovering from her bought with Larxene. In the end Laharl hadn't even told her where he went, since she might have tried to come anyways.

Tanaka was quiet--he still was trying to process some of what he was seeing in this group. It was getting hard to keep his expression looking neutral in the midst of them all; his hometown always found special ways of surprising him in the physical sense, but the spirits of these people were honestly a bit boggling.

The boy's was dimmed for the moment, but the cheerleader could see it had the potential of an inferno behind it. The man with sunglasses' soul was scattered and sputtering, on the brink of puffing out--Tanaka vaguely recalled the desperate ghost from six years ago. And even amongst the more average spirits, the vast majority of them were strong, bright. This was an impressive crew. Perhaps this city had an affinity for bringing such people in. The talking animal hardly registered, in comparison.

They were true oddities, but the main event was the skeleton who spoke without speaking, for the precise opposite reason. He had no visible spirit; he was nothing. Tanaka often catch himself staring. He could have gotten over the complete lack of skin or proper voice, but a complete lack of soul? It was just... well, he simply didn't know what to make of it. He supposed he couldn't cheer that one on very well, at least.

Harry glanced down at Murphy and said, "Can't say, but they burn. Something can burn, odds are good it can be shot. Anyway, if they can't be, I'll just have to protect you."

He fully expected to get hit for that last comment, but it was worth it. Besides, it ensured Murphy would be in the right state of mind for the fight to come. Really, Harry was just being considerate.
