A break from danger [Active]
Character(s): Sora, Kairi, Riku
Content: The trio finds some time to get together and relax like old times.
Setting: Vanaheim to the beach outside
Time: Backdated; Week 2, before the "party"
Warnings: None.
Kairi rushed from the train to the gate area as soon as it stopped. She was certain she was going to be late… hopefully the boys hadn’t been waiting too long. See wanted to see them! Sora and Riku… it had been awhile since the three of them could just hang out together and relax. Forget about everything that’s been happening, the Organization, Maleficent, the Heartless… Yes. They needed this. The other two probably were taking a lot on their plates.
She buzzed around through the natives, making her way to the front and looking around. “Sora!” she called, her voice laced with a laugh. “You said you’d beat all of us, so come on out!” Hopefully he really hadn’t gotten himself lost. He should learn how to ask for directions, really. The natives went out of their way to be helpful, after all.
… Kind of like Kairi.

"Hey, Kairi!" he called, waving excitedly. "Up here! I told you I'd get here first!" He leapt off the building and dove down to meet her, still grinning. "I haven't seen Riku yet."
no subject
He needed a bit longer to think. To try and deal. Hadn't they gone over this already? They hadn't cared about what he had done. He had tried to make up for it, hadn't he? It was over and done with.
He walked, trying to banish the last of those feelings. By the time he got to the gate, he felt calmer. "Just like old times," he murmured, looking around for Kairi and Sora. He spotted them together and immediately walked over.
"Hey, you two! Managed to get here first for once, huh?"
no subject
She turned at Riku's voice, face lighting up to his presence - talking to him over the journals was nothing to being here before him - and she ran up to him, throwing her arms around his neck in a hug. "It's been too long since I've actually seen you..." she whispered, Sora momentarily forgotten. But he already had his welcoming hug (although she had slapped him first... but that was besides the point).

Sora landed on the ground with a slightly heavier thud than he might have had he been paying better attention, but he ignored it in favor of all but tackling his two friends and hugging the both of them. He had been worried they'd all be apart again.
no subject
When Sora crashed into them, his bad mood faded entirely, and he tried to throw an arm around his best friend to catch his balance, laughing a little.
"It was just a test," he scoffed. "Glad to see you didn't get lost this time."
no subject
Although flying probably helped him not get lost if he could see everything from a bird's eye view. Kairi could appreciate that.
no subject
He didn't explain it beyond that--didn't understand it beyond that, really. Something probably connecting to his heart and allowing for the extraordinary keyblade-related powers. Either way, he could fly now!
He stuck his tongue out at Riku. "Of course I didn't!"
no subject
"Think you could give Kairi a lift, Sora?" He turned toward Kairi and smiled teasingly at her. "How about it? Think you'd trust this bum enough to let him fly you around?"
no subject
Things hadn't changed much. She was glad.

And with that as a warning, he scooped up his friend even as he leapt off the ground and into the air, like a jump that never quite got around to remembering gravity. At first they shot up quickly, as Sora adjusted to the extra weight, and then he was hovering just above Riku's head, grinning.
"See, it's great!" He flew in a little circle to show her.
no subject
"It's safe, Kairi. I promise. Even if Sora's silly enough to drop you, I can catch you," he continued, smiling faintly at the two of them.
no subject
Even knowing Sora wouldn't drop her, she called down to Riku, "I'm counting on you for that!" ...But how was Riku going to follow, anyway?
no subject
"Think you can beat us to the beach on foot?" he challenged Riku.
no subject
He was used to racing, but this was ridiculous.
But when could he ever lose to Sora without at least trying?
"I've already lost once. It'd look pretty bad if I did again, don't you think?" he shot back, grinning.
no subject
Instead, she glanced down at Riku and winked at him (though whether or not he could tell from their height, she didn't really know). Then she waved out a hand and hollered, "Ready, set, go!" quickly, hoping that Sora wouldn't be expected the sudden start and that Riku could get going ahead of the game.
She believed in some fairness, after all.
