"No need to worry, my dear, I would never allow such a thing to happen," he assured her, turning back to her with a wide grin. "What sort of gentleman would I be if I did so?" He chuckled goodnaturedly before adopting a much more somber expression as he stopped and turned to her fully at her next question.
"These are very dark times. There are three groups of people all fighting one another. There is one group that works for the betterment of the city, but, even so, the conflict leaves a dark cloud hanging above us all." He sighed, putting a hand on his hip, but seemed to cheer up again not long after. "But that doesn't mean we cannot enjoy what we have! And this place does shine so beautifully sometimes."
