IKUZE!
Character(s): Tanaka Hajime, OPEN
Content: This is not Yuuhi Town where is this I have work to do aaaaaa
Setting: Vanaheim
Time: Week 2, midday
Warnings: none
They had to be joking. This was all some ridiculous prank, or... or something. Composed by someone with a very twisted sense of humor. Suzuki fit the bill. Though that didn't really explain how he'd gotten lost walking down a perfectly familiar street. Or how the entire city seemed to have vanished in favor of...
Tanaka scowled and looked up at the massive trees that made up the gate he'd somehow stumbled through. Realistic, but devoid of any form of life. He curled his lip, and looked back to the man at the gate. "I'm telling you, there's a mistake. I don't know what you think happened, but I can't stay here." The cheerleader waved the black device he'd been given at the man. "Seriously, I don't want this thing, you can have it back, I just need to get back to work. If you'll just let me go, my squad will be wondering where I've been, and really, if I've missed a job, do you have any idea what the consequences are? It's not some joke, you know, this is important stuff I'm talking about, and--are you even listening?" No, it seemed the man was not listening in the slightest.
Tanaka gritted his jaw and felt his fire flare. This wasn't happening. This was not happening. He couldn't be stuck here. Wherever here was--nowhere he was familiar with, nowhere near his team or his work. They couldn't just keep him there. He had important things to do, things to take care of--people to take care of. Who did they think they were, keeping him from them like this?
His teeth grinded, and a fist clenched, before Tanaka realized just how hot his spirit had gotten. What was it feeding on, then? Anger, frustration, fear (no, not fear, he was too mature for that) but anger, that was in excess. Bad emotions. Not what he needed right now. Taking a deep breath, Tanaka refocused. He had that much spirit, he'd channel it properly.
So they weren't letting him leave, not through here, at least. The cheerleader huffed and pushed up his glasses. He'd find another way out, then. Determination, strength, faith. That was where he needed to focus his energies. Though, he managed to spare enough anger to shoot a final scathing look at the gatekeeper before stalking away.

This newcomer didn't look happy at all. Kairi didn't grace the Vanaheim area much; it was across the city from where she lived, and there wasn't much close by to the gate for her to people-watch. Sitting outside the Actua Are was boring, and while the benches were sometimes alright to plop down on near the gate, she much preferred the Muspelheim area where there was a café nearby.
She saw his determination (she saw it often in others), and hoped that he wouldn't be easily defeated. This city could drain it out of people; Kairi still had some of hers, but she didn't need to go home. Her friends were here, and she was comfortable with where she was staying. The Organization and Maleficent left her alone.
"Excuse me, I know you just got here," she started, walking up towards the other slowly. She didn't want to startle him. "Do you need any help?" Did he want any help? "I've been here quite awhile; I can't tell you how to get home, but I can help in other departments, I'm sure."

Well, the girl appeared to be trying to be helpful, which was more than could be said for the gatekeeper, at least. Being on the recieving end of the help wasn't quite as he would have preferred it, but Tanaka was never one to deny what he obviously needed.
The young man crossed his arms. "Just arrived, yes, I suppose that's the correct wording for it." He raised an eyebrow. "You make it sound as though this sort of thing happens often, then." Curious.

Kairi smiled nervously to him. "Ah, yeah... it does happen pretty often. See, a lot of the people in this city... well, they're from other worlds. Don't know why we get brought here, or how to go home. It just keeps happening." And somehow they've never ran out of space. Maybe... that was why people disappeared. Kairi shivered at the thought. She had to look into that...
She hoped it wasn't too much for the man to take in. Sometimes it was. Sometimes people just broke down at the news... had other things to do. Important things that they needed to get back to... and they couldn't.
They had to deal with it.
"There are plenty of places to stay though, at least. And currency is easy."

There was several moments of him starting to say something, before cutting himself off and seething some more. There was no way to properly convey the problem to this girl. If he was here, then there was no way he could be helping people. What would Doumeki--what would everyone think, just up and vanishing like that, he'd be... the Asahi would peg him as a coward, no doubt.
"That... that's not right," was all he could manage to strangle out in the end.

"Did you... I mean, were you doing something important back home?" The question might only make the situation worse for him. But... these things needed to be talked about.

He trailed off. They always were taking care of something yes. Regardless of the situation, his squad took care of what needed to be done. Tanaka gave the girl a good look. Her fire was flickering. Was he really only limited to Yuuhi Town? What an ignorant way of thinking.
The young man squared his shoulders and straightened his jacket before crossing his arms behind his back. "But then, I'll just continue on here." He looked out over the new city. "My job is to help people, there's no reason I cannot perform that task here."
There was a small pause, as he took it in, before he gave a sharp, ninety-degree bow. "Tanaka Hajime, Light Assistance!"
