Cid was, by and large, not a morning person. Admittedly, this was mostly due to his tendencies to stay up until all hours of the night working on his ships. But still, it was generally a rare sight indeed to seem him out and about so early, and really, he'd been just as surprised as anyone else would have been to find himself up so early.
But in the end he'd decided that he might as well make the most of the time he had, grabbing Venus Gospel down of its shelf and heading out to see where his feet would take him.
Several minutes and one train ride later, 'where his feet would take him' turned out to be one of the gates. Not too damned surprising, and what the hell he might as well see if anyone new had shown up (with the preference being to someone he knew).
